Maybe a bit specific but I'm searching for an RPG with good character customization that has no afk-feature and that is not a gacha game. Any recommendations?

    Posted: 01 Aug 2019 11:40 AM PDT

Yeah, this is probably too specific....

Lookong for a game to play with a friend!

    Posted: 01 Aug 2019 02:58 PM PDT

My friend has never been into games of any kind, but a while back i introduced her to PubgM and its an obsessions ever since.

Tried some other games that i felt could be interested but nothing lasted (in ex. Arc)

    1. She prefers "real" graphics, so cartoonish or super chinese would be hard to introduce her to

    2. Needs to be somewhat action based

    3. Obviously 2 player gameplay

    4. Pvp is probably the way to go aswell.

    5. Cant be too complex since she doesnt really like to "min-max" and look into the numbers of how to get the best outcome like calc dps or whatever

    Any thoughts?

    Question about using controllers

    Posted: 01 Aug 2019 02:57 PM PDT

So I was just gifted an Ipega PG-9118 controller and I have no idea how to get it to work. I following the instructions and successfully paired it via bluetooth and then I launched some games that are confirmed to have "controller support". I put that in quote because I don't really know if they mean that I'm supposed to use a 3rd party app to meticulously bind all the buttons and analog sticks on the controller to that specific game, or is it supposed to just be plug and play?

I'm using an LG V20 with oreo and the controller connects but none of the analog sticks work in any game. I'm hold A and pressing home to go into what they call "direct play" mode (no clue what that is). The alternative is to hold X and press home which goes into "android mode" but neither seems to work.

Is this normal? I tried Soul Knight, Horizon Chase, and Gigantic X

What genre do you prefer and why?

    Posted: 01 Aug 2019 03:57 AM PDT

I'm very interested what game genre is most preferable here on r/Androidgaming. Share you favorite genres and why do you prefer those. Providing your favorite games would be cool too.

    To start the discussion:

I like good games in all genres, but for now and on mobile, my favorite genres are rogue-lites, action (especially competitive) and their combination. Good example of a game, that recently has hooked me up is Archero. This simple action roguelite is a bit skill-based, dynamic, has some element of luck to it and some variety to keep things different every single time. It hit me with a paywall once, but I've grinded through it without big problems. I like some masochistic challenge.

Also, I've liked the game called Dungeon Faster! This game is more like a pure card roguelite. It's very obscure, has great overall gameplay and graphics and deserves more attention IMO. Also, no ads at all there.

So, please share your favorite genres and example games. It's very interesting to know, what games this sub prefer in general.

The Bonfire: Forsaken Lands - My Mini point-format Review

    Posted: 01 Aug 2019 04:25 AM PDT

As mentioned a few days ago, after reviewing Pokemon Masters, I would post another mini-review for The Bonfire: Forsaken Lands.

So, here are the key points that I would like to highlight:

    1. I would consider the game as a premium game since the game has only one in-app purchase, which is to unlock the full version. The free version allows you to play only up to Day 7 in the game.

    2. The game is a clicker survival simulation game.

    3. The game is simple enough in the beginning, but it gets quite busy towards the end as there are more and more people to manage (micro-manage at times).

    4. You can assign any newcomer to a job. But, each person has their own trait such as honest, wise, hardworking and strong which you will need to figure out which personality goes well to which jobs.

    5. Not much tutorial available in the game. You need to figure out most of the things as you go along.

I am on Day 25 now and so far I am enjoying the game.

One of my complains so far is that you can't queue orders on the main character. So, sometimes, you will find him with nothing to do when you are busy with other things in the game.

Another thing that I feel the game is lacking is the ability to save the game on demand. The game saves itself every morning (game time morning). But this is not as bad as 1 day in the game takes only a few minutes. But it can be annoying enough at times.

Please feel free to ask me any questions about the game. I will try to answer to the best of my knowledge.

Devils & Demons - Java Emulation

    Posted: 01 Aug 2019 02:53 AM PDT

I love the feeling you get when you dismember an enemy in a hack and slash game, it's great. Devils & Demons features just that, along with multiple playable character classes, an in-depth levelling system and a Diablo-esque aesthetic that would make Satan himself feel hot. This 2009 Java title was incredibly ambitious – but was it any good?
