I'm buying a new phone and I'm confused.

    Posted: 03 Jul 2019 06:06 PM PDT

    Hello, guys

I'm buying a new phone and I'm confused which one is better. I searched for the processor and I found a lot with Snapdragon 855 and 845. I looked for phones in both 855 and 845, and I want to know the best in both (one phone in 855 and one or two in 845).

    Thanks a lot.

    • 855 phones:
    1. Redmi K20 Pro
    2. MI 9
    • 845 phones:
    1. MI 8 Pro
    2. MI 8
    3. MI Mix 3
    4. MI Mix 2S
    5. Pocophone F1

I've joined the Mi Band 4 club

    Posted: 03 Jul 2019 02:24 AM PDT

Coming from the Mi Band 3 I thought the 4 wouldn't be a significant jump, but boy was I wrong. The software has improved so much it feels more like an actual smartwatch than a simple activity tracker.

If you want to know something about it just let me know.

Horrible Camera Quality Xiaomi Note 7 Global Version

    Posted: 03 Jul 2019 09:16 PM PDT

Just bought a XIaomi Note 7 coming from an old LG G4! Tried the GCam Mod and for some reason the selfie camera looks absolutely WAY worse than the one on the LG G4 even in bright daylight in the camera app or on Snapchat.

Has anyone found a fix for this or is it just a REALLY crappy selfie camera straight from 2003? Thanks

Wich ROM should I go for?

    Posted: 03 Jul 2019 01:34 PM PDT

So, since the global beta realease is finished now, I wanted to know if I should go back to Global Stable, or maybe to Xiaomi EU version?

Is the second one reliable? Never installed a not "official" rom, but I heard is a really good one.

Will both get the Android Q update?
My device is a Mi8 btw.
    Thanks.

Xiaomi Mi Notebook Pro: Fan crackling noise...

    Posted: 03 Jul 2019 03:42 PM PDT

Whenever my fans are working they make a weird crackling noise as if a little particle is stuck inside of it. Does your notebook pro do the same thing?

    M365 Scooter

    Posted: 03 Jul 2019 03:25 PM PDT

    Hello Guys!

I was wondering myself if i could somehow break the Scooter if i charge it over night (5h<).

The reason for this question are YouTubers leaving their E-Scooterd and E-Boards Charging when not in use.

I allready charged it 5h but can i leave it just plugged in?

    Will it stop charging automatically?

Will the Battery burn my house down?

    Having an Issue with Google

    Posted: 03 Jul 2019 11:20 AM PDT

Using a Redmi 5. Having an issue with the discover page on the google app. Whenever I click a link it gives me an error 'this site can't be reached, try re-checking connection'. This happens only with websites that have 'cdn' in the link. Not sure if that's relevant. Any one else experienced the same issue? Or any thoughts on how to fix it? Thanks in advance.

Mi A1 - storage available doesn't add up

    Posted: 03 Jul 2019 05:04 PM PDT

So I just added a MicroSD, SDXC, card to my A1, first time I've had a card in it. I installed it and it looked fine, but it's a little weird.

It said it transferred some files and stuff. Should be 64 GB phone storage, and 64 SD storage. Phone has ~15 GB free, while the SD shows ~50 GB free.

The only way I can browse it is through settings -> storage -> SD Card -> Explore. In this storage menu, it shows "Internal shared storage" and "SD card." In other android file browsers, it only shows the SD card, but labels it as "Internal Storage" It shows the stuff that I believe was transferred to the SD card.

When I browse in Windows 10 (phone connected), it only shows one drive, labeled SD Card, but with only 15.7 GB free (so that's the internal, right? but it's labeled as the SD) out of 64.

So I guess my conclusion is that Android is lumping the internal and SD into one unit in settings -> storage, but the total storage space didn't update for some reason? It's restarted and reinstalled the SD a couple times. As I download or remove songs (songs from Spotify in this case), it only changes the value on the SD Card, not on the "internal shared storage"

Change vibration settings for note 7

    Posted: 03 Jul 2019 03:51 PM PDT

I got my Note 7 a week ago, and while I think the phone Is great I think there are a few flaws, especially with the notification's vibration, I like a single short buzz, but it's always a double buzz and it makes this high pitched noise, does anyone know how to at least change the vibration pattern?

    K20 Pro with Samsung Wearable

    Posted: 03 Jul 2019 11:55 AM PDT

I recently got my hands on a K20 Pro and it's an absolute beast of a phone. Runs Google Apps with no issues however I also own a samsung gear sport so it was time to resync.

Surprisingly, the Samsung Wearable app crashes right after I try to sync with my watch.

Anyone out here with a similar issue and have any solution? Is this cause I need to wait for the global rom?

Contactless payment is also a fail as I cant connect to any credit card with Google pay due to this being a China phone.

    Any one has any insight?

Personally they look beautiful and I was very surprised by the performance/design/cost ratio. Definitely buying CC9e when it comes to Europe

Mi A2 Lite dropped in the water

    Posted: 03 Jul 2019 10:36 AM PDT

    Hello, everyone!

I have a Xiaomi A2 Lite and I accidentally dropped it in the water today. I took it out of the water very fast, in less than 3 seconds, and turned it off in like 15 seconds. It showed no water damage immediately, it worked fine until I turned it off.

Then I beat its earphone jack, the power outlet and the speakers against my hand to shake out the water (and my hand did get moist) and put the phone in rice, as that's what I had available in my hands. I put the rice bowl behind my PC, because it's a warm place and I figured it would help vaporize the water.

What do you guys think about this? Have you ever dropped your Xiaomis (with no waterproof certificate) in the water? Did it work well after that? I'm optimistic because it was working fine when I turned it off. How long do you think I should keep it there?

Thank you for reading this, I'm kinda freaked out because I love my phone and I've had it for just a few months.

Redmi Note 7 data connectivity not working

    Posted: 03 Jul 2019 01:54 PM PDT

Hello r/xiaomi. I bought a Redmi Note 7 just a week ago and I have not been able to make the SIM data work since. I am in France and using the service of Lebara. Here is what I have tried so far:

    1. Call the service provider and set the correct Access Point Name (APN) for the network.

    2. Change the SIM position from slot 1 to slot 2.

    3. Change the preferred network type from LTE to 3G to even 2G.

    4. Enable the Dual 4G option and remove all data limits.

    5. Turn MI optimisation on and off.

    6. Change my (geographic) location.

    7. Run the Test Network tool inside the Security app (does nothing and deletes the APN I entered in Step 1).

    8. And finally, a hard reset.

Has anyone else here faced a similar problem ? It would be really helpful to know if there is something else I can try.

Currently the service provider is looking from their side. I have also ordered a SIM from another provider to test if it's the issue with the device or the SIM.

    Thanks.

    Mi Band 2 : Display

    Posted: 03 Jul 2019 05:35 AM PDT

    Hey,

Was using Mi Band 2 for a long time, then my band snapped so I stopped using it altogether for around 6 months or so.

I started using it again from yesterday, but the display brightness is real low that its visibility is next to nothing under direct sunlight.

Can any please guide me on how to go about this? To improve the display brightness.

If you thought that the Xiaomi smartphone range was difficult to decode, the officialization of these new devices will not help you understand it. The Chinese manufacturer has formalized in China three new smartphones, the Xiaomi CC9, Xiaomi CC9e and CC9 Meitu Edition.

These terminals are aimed at a clear audience: young people! CC, for Colorful & Creative is a range that targets the younger generation by offering a seductive glass design and good performance at the camera, including selfies.
