Has anyone else abandoned the idea of future proofing? Posted: 23 Jul 2019 07:37 PM PDT I realised I've only played the same game for the last 4 years and I don't intend to stop. Before that, it was the same game day in day out for 3 years. I only play one game at a time, very few games actually get my interest. I've come to the realisation that it's pointless trying to build a "future proofed" rig, instead I should build a rig around the one and only one game that I actually play (Siege). Every single component I chose was the minimum needed to run that game at max settings. It was the easiest PC I've ever built! Based on my history, the chances of me finding another game that I actually enjoy are so remote that if I did need to upgrade, I'd just bite the bullet if and when that time comes. Even if I found another game, I could literally toss my 6 month old PC in the trash, start again, and over the long term, I'd still be better off than constantly trying to buy top of the line every 3 years. It's also quite a relief, because after buying a 1k graphics card you're always forcing yourself to find "graphical powerhouses" to justify the money you've spent, even if you don't actually like them. I was getting tired of trying to justify my purchase with crap but pretty looking games. [link] [comments]
Finished building my PC and I noticed one of my fans isn't spinning. Is this normal? Posted: 24 Jul 2019 01:47 PM PDT So I finished building my PC and I booted into BIOS and when in BIOS I noticed the top fan in my NZXT H500i isn't spinning. Is this normal? The fan towards the rear IO is spinning but the top fan facing down the CPU cooler isn't. I am only running with the two stock fans that came with my H500i. Picture. Posted: 24 Jul 2019 09:49 AM PDT R5 3600, which mobo? I'm not buying an x570, unfortunately, it's out of my budget. What mobo would be reliable? ( are there any ready for ryzen 3rd gen out of the box? ) thanks [link] [comments]
How many times have you cut yourself while working on a PC? Posted: 24 Jul 2019 12:06 PM PDT I've gone through three different builds and each time I get nicked by a sharp edge, most recently an IO shield. I think my PCs just require a blood sacrifice. Best MicroATX MOBO for the AMD 3900x? Posted: 24 Jul 2019 12:23 PM PDT Hey guys I'm putting together a build but I'm honestly having the hardest time trying to decide which motherboard to use, which is the best choice, and why. I'm aiming for a high powered and efficient gaming PC with Streaming capabilities as well that plays a wide range of games at 1440p with high and stable frames. This is my first PC build and the motherboard is the only thing I'm stuck on. I'm using the Crystal 280x Corsair case if that matters. [link] [comments]

How do I install windows on my new PC? Posted: 23 Jul 2019 11:35 PM PDT Hi guys, so I just finished my first build using a ryzen 3600. My computer turns on and goes to the BIOS menu. However, I'm trying to download windows and put it on there. Does anyone know how to do this from a mac? I have a 16gb usb. Thanks! [link] [comments]

Do I need to buy more fans for the NZXT H500i. Posted: 24 Jul 2019 05:08 AM PDT The H500i comes with 2 fans, but do I need to buy more fans for intake or should I be ok. [link] [comments]
Is this a good monitor for a pc ? Posted: 24 Jul 2019 04:22 PM PDT
Which CPU cooler should I go with? Posted: 24 Jul 2019 04:19 PM PDT I'm currently using the stock cooler for the Ryzen 5 2600, but I wanted to know which cooler would be better to buy between the Arctic Freezer 34 eSports DUO and the Scythe Mugen 5 Rev. B. [link] [comments]
Posted: 24 Jul 2019 04:16 PM PDT I fell asleep while watching something on my pc and I woke to see my monitor is not displaying anything. At first I thought just the monitor is not working or cable issue. I re plugged em to no avail and then I see that my entire pc is on (all the inside components are working and rgb is lit, except my gpu, it's completely dark, no power). I thought power cable to the gpu maybe an issue. I unplugged the power to the gpu and reattach still the same. I am literally panicking and I literally woke up to a nightmare. Image of inside gpu: http://imgur.com/a/oqGxfqb PC specs: . i7 8700k . 4x4 GB Avexir ram . Evga rtx 2080 . Psu Evga 750 g3 . Asus z390 mobo I live in a country where there is no EVGA support system and I don't even know if a replacement is possible. Entire pc was built in February. Should i wait for ddr5 ram to release to build my new pc? Posted: 24 Jul 2019 12:13 PM PDT Im currently using a mobo that uses ddr3 ram, should i wait for the ddr5 rams to release to build my new system? its expected to release in 2020. If i get a x570 mobo, will i be able to plug in a ddr5 ram or will the ddr5 ram slots be completely different? [link] [comments]
Noisy 3700x fan speed spikes on ASUS TUF x570 Posted: 24 Jul 2019 01:39 PM PDT (repost from /r/asus) Hey there all. Have been lucky enough to be able to afford a new cpu mobo ram and went in on an x570 TUF plus, a 3700x, 32gb of 3200mhz micron e die, and a brand new TB nvme (I feel very spoiled) I'm running on the stock cooler for the 3700x (it seems really nice - direct heat pipe contact!) and temps seem to be great. However, whenever I start up anything the fan immediately starts revving up. This wouldn't be an issue if it wasn't so loud! My question: is anyone else with a similar config seeing this happen? Do I need to update my bios? 🤔 Thanks 😊 [link] [comments]
Posted: 24 Jul 2019 03:50 PM PDT Hey, I have an i5 6600k atm in a MSI Z170A SLI with a 1070 and 600W PSU,thinking of upgrading to an i7 9700k. The CPUS are the same socket type, just wondering if there might be any other issue that I'm missing with this. Cheers [link] [comments]
Should I buy a FreeSync Monitor for my RTX 2060? Posted: 24 Jul 2019 01:24 PM PDT In my country buying computer parts is a pain in the ass, only like 3 companies sell gaming stuff, 1 of them sells used stuff as new (I payed more than $600 for my used rtx) and there are no many options from the other two. I want a new monitor for my pc, current one only supports dvi, best thing I could find is this monitor HP 3WL50AA (24.5 inches) it costs 377.39 USD, but it says it is FreeSync, does it affect my gaming experience? will it cause any problems?, It seems like the only option in the whole country right now. Need help choosing 3700x x570 or 9700k z390 Posted: 24 Jul 2019 01:18 PM PDT so here's my confusion. in my country, the price for 3700x + midrange x570 is the same as 9700k + midrange z390 + cryorig H7. I already have 2x8gb 3200mhz ram and will pair either of them with AIB version of 5700 XT once they come out. my intended use is 1080p high fps gaming with very little productivity work/multitasking. I will not upgrade for at least the next 5 years so I need my build to be as futureproof as possible. therefore x470 board is out of the question as it's almost 1.5 year olds and will be outdated sooner than z390 and x570. which pair is better for me? [Question] Ryzen 9 3900X / X570 Concerns Posted: 24 Jul 2019 03:29 PM PDT Hi guys, I'm currently in the process of building a new machine and I'm looking for some technical advice regarding the 3900X and X570. Specifically the teething issues I've been reading about. I've been doing a LOT of reading and I'm noticing that people are suggesting to wait for BIOS updates, as well as some complaining of unexpectedly high temperatures on both the CPU's and the chipsets themselves. I've bought my GPU already, but am happy to wait a little longer if it's necessary. Obviously you can't tell me exactly when or if these issues will be fixed. But I'd appreciate some advice from this wise subreddit. If you'd like me to clarify anything or be a little more specific feel free to ask. [link] [comments]
Posted: 24 Jul 2019 03:19 PM PDT I got some problems with my pc(it starts up but no display on monitor, and if it displayes it'll give a blue screen error and it'll loop)when i plug in my second ram.I've got CORSAIR 16GB (2x8GB) Vengeance Red DDR4 2400MHz CL16 Dual Kit Ram for rams and MSI H170 Gaming M3 for motherboard.I wasn't able to find a proper solution for 3 years please god help me(I sent it to the store i bought my pc 2 years ago and they said it all ok nothing to worry about but it nothing had changed) [link] [comments]
Corsair H90 is enough for Core i9 9900k on turbo? Posted: 24 Jul 2019 03:11 PM PDT I won't do any OC, just apply turbo on BIOS and just play games on pc. [link] [comments]

Posted: 24 Jul 2019 11:10 AM PDT I very recently made the following build: Ryzen 7 3700x Asus X470 Prime Pro RTX 2060 Founders Edition Lian Li Pc-011 Dynamic I am currently air cooling everything with the stock cooler(s). Additionally I've got 2 CM MF120RGB at the bottom for intake and 2 at the top for exhaust. The PC keeps rebooting randomly and I fear the cooling is insufficient. Also the fans at the bottom coz a rattling noise even though they're supposed to be "rattle proof" or something. Any suggestions on how to cool? What are the chassis fans I can put instead of the CM MF 120s ? I want something silent and preferably with RGB and not A-RGB. Since the motherboard doesn't have A-RGB headers. I had the CM 360ARGBs but I replaced them with the MF120 due to aforementioned reason of the mobo not having the A-RGB header. [link] [comments] |
