looking for an alternative to Windows Photo Viewer. Posted: 03 Jul 2019 11:38 AM PDT Windows 10's Photo Viewer is a very strange specimen, i have never seen a photo viewer take soooo long to load a photo, so i'm looking for some good alternatives, i googled the subject and found a plenty, but i always prefer to make a choice base on user experience and recommendations, hence why i'm asking here, so, can anybody recommend me some good photo viewers? Cortana Search on Google Chrome Posted: 03 Jul 2019 06:43 PM PDT Hi guys, I'm new to using cortana; I didn't though to use it before. My first experiences are kinda nice. The only problem is that when Cortana searches something, it does it on Microsoft Edge, and I want it to use Google Chrome and Google as a search engine, not Bing. I've googled but with this new update, it seems that it doesn't works. For example, I chose Chrome as the program for browsing, but it keeps openning on Edge. Anyone out there that can please help me? Thanks in advance. [link] [comments]
Posted: 03 Jul 2019 09:50 AM PDT So I accidentally signed in to my Microsoft account on a computer and it got linked to the local account I was on. How do I unlink my Microsoft account while keeping the local account intact? The computer is using Windows 10, and I don't think there are backups. I need all current files to stay. Windows Store apps (EarTrumpet) not opening on startup Posted: 03 Jul 2019 08:29 AM PDT Like many people who use several output devices frequently, I use EarTrumpet. Recently I've had the issue of it not opening on startup. When I go and enable it in task manager, it changes back to disabled right after I close the TM. This happens to another Windows Store app I use, but not any of the .exe installed programs. Anyone else had this issue? [link] [comments]

Windows login issue (please help) Posted: 03 Jul 2019 08:21 AM PDT Hello I would really appreciate help on a serious issue. Was having sound issues on my computer and after going through all the options it said to factory reset to a previous state, so I did this. I forgot I recently deleted all my emails and accounts to remake a new one and have everything organizing on one but forgot that was my account to login to windows at the time of the recovered reset I have just reverted to. I cannot login or recovery password because that account is no longer there. I am freaking out because I can't login my computer, I can't fully factory reset and I have no access to anything. Can someone please help in any way [link] [comments]
Posted: 03 Jul 2019 04:30 AM PDT Good day all, Ive been getting recently a notification (almost once a day for the past couple of weeks) That says the following: https://imgur.com/a/pXgsqHP After clicking on the notification it brings me to this page: https://imgur.com/fLJw45m And after i press "Fix now" it goes away, and then maybe the next day i'll get the same notification and so on. I'm not sure if it specifies what needs fixing but yeah. Is this something to be worried about? Someone trying to get to my account? If my memory serves me i'm fairly certain this started after updating to Windows 10 1903 version. Thanks in advance. [link] [comments]
Posted: 03 Jul 2019 05:17 PM PDT Pulled the hard drives, Chromebooks and Windows desktops have served me while dealing with my real life the last two years, now I have the time to try to properly attempt to resurrect them. Any advice on how to properly clean out the inside of these laptops/keyboard's layers? Has too much time gone by? One hard drive has a 'no partition' issue that I'm trying to get old info off of using "Test Disk", other HD is probably borked due to clicking sounds, laptop fell while R/W head wasn't properly 'parked'. Thanks in advance. [link] [comments]

Can I put additional files on a Win10 bootstick? Posted: 03 Jul 2019 09:42 AM PDT My PC is due for an upgrade and formatting along with it. I've used the creation tool to make the bootstick on a 16Gb USB stick. Can I add additional files I want to backup on that stick as long as don't exceed the required 8Gb (so keep 4Gb free as ~4Gb are already occupied by the windows files)? Or will that lead to problems when trying to boot from the stick? [link] [comments]

But here is the problem : I connected her Microsoft account and mail address to the mail app, but she can't seem to recieve any mail : when I open the app, there is the screen with "no new mail" written, even if I try to actualize it. Oh and I am sure that she recieved mails since bc I sent her one for test. What have I done wrong? How can I configure the app for her to recieve mails? Posted: 03 Jul 2019 12:59 AM PDT Disclaimer : Hey guys, this is my first post here and I'm needing some advice, also, English isn't my first language, I'm on phone, and well... You know the stuff Greetings ! So, the thing is... That I'm buying a Laptop for my (13th) birthday (this month), the specifications are : 16GB RAM, an AMD CPU, 1GB in graphics card, 775 GB in the HDD, and Windows 7... And that's the thing, Microsoft announced that Windows 7's support is ending, but I don't really like Windows 10, I think is pretty unstable (and the constant updates really bother me). So... Should I upgrade to Windows 10 or stay with 7 ? [link] [comments]
Posted: 03 Jul 2019 10:34 AM PDT Hello, I'm on Windows 10 and since I started my computer, I couldn't connect to WiFi. I typed "netsh wlan show wlanreport" into CMD and got this error code. If I try to troubleshoot the network adaptors, it just says "connect to an available wireless network", but nothing shows up other than airplane mode (which is off). I tried updating my network adaptors "Quallcom QCA9377 802.11ac" but it says the best drivers are already installed (probably because it can't search the internet). So, is there anyway to fix it? Posted: 03 Jul 2019 01:38 AM PDT First of all I'm not geek or computer expert in any way. My google chrome has a malware and it's not allowing me to stop notifications as it shows "setting enforced by adminstration". Though I found the solution online that to put some lines in cmd prompt but here is the issue.... I'm typing this line RD /S /Q "WinDir%\System32\GroupPolicyUsers" and it shows "the system cannot find the file specified". Is there a solution for this? please help. [link] [comments]
How to remove a "not yet applied update" after installing Posted: 03 Jul 2019 06:31 AM PDT Hello, I've installed an update, but it is not yet applied. (have to restart system) I do not wish for it to be applied (I hid the update via a Windows tool, but it's still installed the files itself it seems). I want to remove the entire update. Or do I have to apply it first, then remove and hide it after? [link] [comments]
Posted: 03 Jul 2019 10:14 AM PDT I don't know if this is the right sub to post this or if this is even a windows problem. The problem: I'm using a ThinkPad laptop to play Minecraft, but i noticed I can't do alt+f4. I googled it there's a different way to do it on the thinkpad, but that didn't work either when I tried it. Like I said, this might not even be the right sub for this, just looking for answers. Btw the solution google suggested was Alt+Fn+F4. Didn't work. Btw the problem isn't just when I play Minecraft, i can't do it whatever I try. There's also a problem where I can't use F3 while playing Minecraft (so I can see coordinates) but I think that might just be a Minecraft problem. EDIT: Just got told by my brother it's because most of the top buttons don't work. F [link] [comments]
Completely disable/perma-hide Taskbar in Windows 10 Posted: 02 Jul 2019 09:40 PM PDT I prefer using ObjectDock and Rainmeter in place of the taskbar, both for convenience and aesthetics. I did this in Windows 7 for years... However, in 10, all I can do is auto-hide it, and it still ends up getting in the way of my docks. I've gone through dozens of programs attempting to remove it, to no avail. Is it even possible? [link] [comments] |
