I have a flip phone and I would like to text with my tablet. Android Help

I have a flip phone and I would like to text with my tablet.

    Posted: 31 Jul 2019 08:38 PM PDT

So I enjoy having my LG flip phone, but I would like the benefits of a good texting app on my Android tablet. Is there any way that I could send and receive SMS and MMS on my tablet, but still use my same phone number? I am a programmer, so I am willing to implement a more complicated solution, however an easy one would obviously be better. Any ideas?

Is 6 GB Ram enough for the next 2 years?

    Posted: 31 Jul 2019 03:36 PM PDT

I'm looking to buy the Samsung Galaxy A70 and the only version available in my region of the world is the 6 GB Ram version. So I was just wondering if that's going to be enough for the next 2 years.

Cloud Storage That Allows You To Easily Download Files To Android Phone?!?

    Posted: 31 Jul 2019 04:51 PM PDT

Looking to move away from dropbox. In order to sync entire folders to my phone with dropbox I had to download another app called dropsync, which is extremely annoying, I mean cmon, I cannot download a directory from your storage to my phone with one-click, WTF!!!

Turns out, they aren't the only cloud storage solution with this issue. I am testing pcloud storage right now and it does the same thing.

Can anybody here recommend a good cloud storage provider that allows for easily downloading files and folders to an android phone?

Android (Samsung Galaxy A50) best way to charge your phone!?

    Posted: 31 Jul 2019 03:27 PM PDT

Many People say it's best to keep your battery between 50-80% or between 20-80%. And it's said that you shouldn't charge it up to 100% or let it discharge to 0 (or nearly). But what if you can't keep it between 50%-80% because you want to be able to use the full capacity? Maybe because you are not within reach of a charger or a socket or something..? So does it really make such a huge difference if you keep it maybe between 10 or 15% to 90% or 100%? You can't always only get along with 30% of the capacity or so.. I don't really want to always have to keep an eye on how I charge my phone when to unplug it and when to charge it.. but I also don't want to affect the lifespan of my battery in a bad way.. on my phone you can't replace the battery. And I'm not a person who always switches phones and just buys a new one if the old one has an issue. I want to keep the performance for my phone as long as I can just like (or pretty close to) the day I bought it. So do you have any suggestions or do you know a better way?

How can I remove the default calendar?

    Posted: 31 Jul 2019 05:51 PM PDT

I got a new Android phone but in the Google Calendar app there is a "default calendar" which I believe is the local calendar. Take a look at this screenshot.

I want to remove these calendars, but I can't find a way to do it, and they do NOT exist when I go on calendar.google.com.

I tried to clear the app data (both Google Calendar and Calendar Storage) and uninstalling/disabling, but it did nothing.

Is there any way for me to delete the "default calendar" account? I can use ADB if needed.

Is it possible to turn your Android phone into a WiFi Hotspot/ Wifi Repeater that has no data?

    Posted: 31 Jul 2019 03:47 PM PDT

I want to use my old phone with no Sim card and connect it to the hotel WiFi. And then use that WiFi to turn it into a hotspot?

I travel a lot and use a WiFi router called the Tripmate to connect all my gadgets to connect to WiFi. I was thinking instead of using a WiFi Router can I download an app or do some configuration on my old Android phone to achieve this?

Looking for an app that hides calls from robo/spam calls

    Posted: 31 Jul 2019 03:20 PM PDT

I get so many unwanted calls every day. I am looking for an app that blocks/hides/doesn't let robo calls (or known spam calls too if possible) through. I am willing to pay an upfront or monthly fee but free is always preferred. Looking for recommendations based on what has worked for you please!

Messages serch data is using a lot of space, is that right?

    Posted: 31 Jul 2019 08:35 AM PDT

My phone seems to have a lot of storage used by messages: settings/apps/storage/Google play services storage/manage search data shows I'm using 418mb
    messages itself uses 147mb

I really don't have many text messages stored, and the amount used by for search data seems incredibly high. Is there any way I can check this or clear it out?

    Nexus 6P stuck in bootloop

    Posted: 31 Jul 2019 03:05 PM PDT

Phone would power on, show the android logo, get to the dancing coloured orbs and be on there for under a second and phone goes off.

Factory reset the phone and now it's doing the same but phone lasts longer in dancing colours and dies.

Does increasing the bass of the speaker affect its lifespan?

    Posted: 31 Jul 2019 01:13 PM PDT

Like most of the phones, mine has this "sound amplifier" mode, which works both with headphones and without them.

I'm concerned about the second situation: the sound amplifier makes it sound really better (without headphones) with much better reproduction of low frequencies. The whole phone resonates (doesn't happen with the sound amplifier mode turned off).

Is this bad for the speakers lifespan or it doesn't make any difference at all?

Sorry for any grammar mistakes, not a native speaker.

Phone for car without Bluetooth music/podcast support

    Posted: 31 Jul 2019 01:10 PM PDT

I have a 2010 Honda Accord EX-L. The car comes with an AUX cord port in the compartment between the front seats. If I upgrade my phone to something without a 3.5mm headphone jack, will I be able to buy something that can let me still play my music/podcast and call from the phone using the car's speakers?

    Thank you!

    Limit WiFi hotspot

    Posted: 31 Jul 2019 01:52 PM PDT

    Hi

I'm traveling with a friend in a foreign country.

I have a data sim with a small amount of data.

I want to set up a mobile hotspot to share the data.

However, his phone would recognise a WiFi network and try to download lots of updates. Any way to stop this?

(sidesync question)Is there any way to disable the top icon in sidesync?

    Completely disable app installations

    Posted: 31 Jul 2019 10:06 AM PDT

Got a tablet for my old man, set it up with his accessibility needs, and he's extremely happy with it.
A couple of days later I found several unknown and trash apps installed. It was a surprise to me as I already disabled the 'Play Store' app and have Blokada and uBO on FF installed. It seems he still managed to unknowingly install those apps from some browser links.

Searched the web and found out that disabling the 'Package Installer' system app is the answer as it will disable installations no matter where it originates. The problem is the the 'disable' button for that app is greyed in Android 8.1 so I can't disable it from the settings.

After some more searching, my best bet seemed to be to install one of those 'App Locker' apps. I tried the recommened ones (AppLock, Norton, etc.) but the problem is that they don't provide any way of locking system apps.

So my question is, how can I disable installtion of apps on Android 8.1?

Thank you for taking the time to read all this.
Any feedback will be much appreciated.
    Cheers

    Adware on my note8?

    Posted: 31 Jul 2019 09:31 AM PDT

I get ad popups that fill my entire screen frequently but at inconsistent intervals. This, obviously, often interrupts my media usage. I've tried every antivirus on Google play and have uninstalled every shady apk, but I'm still having this issue. What can I do?
