How can I bypass my hotels TV? Posted: 05 Jul 2019 01:20 PM PDT I'm at a hotel right now sharing a room with my niece. I brought my xbox along so we could play together. However, the TV seems to be blocking the HDMI coming from my xbox one. I've done all I can to find out how to fix this online but I can't find anything regarding this TV. TV MODEL: Haier 55E3500 There's only two plugs going into the TV. The power cable going into the wall, and the HDMI coming from the cable box. I assume the hotel mode is built into the TV but there has to be some way to deactivate it so we can play minecraft together. Just trying to figure this out so my niece doesn't die of boredom. Thanks. [link] [comments]

Laptop screen issue - ASUS Q524U Posted: 05 Jul 2019 01:00 PM PDT So i'm working on an ASUS Q524U that won't work with the display. When I first received the laptop, it wouldn't work at all on the display. I hooked it up via HDMI to my TV, and ran all kinds of hardware diagnostics on it. The computer passed. Being such, I ordered a new screen and new screen cable to make sure we got it fixed correctly. Well we have all of the parts now, but we cannot get the old or new screen to work with the old or new cable. Is there something else I should be looking out for? [link] [comments]
Laptop screen brightness issue Posted: 05 Jul 2019 07:22 AM PDT Hey all So, I was gaming on my laptop (only a couple of months old), all plugged in and all of a sudden the screen went darker. I Checked the brightness setting and it was at max, so I tried to change it and found that when I move the slider, the brightness seems to go up and down randomly, and at some points if I leave it there it flickers slightly. It seems to be darkest at the bottom, with a couple of spikes of higher brightness, but then back to dark at the top again. I stopped using the laptop for the rest of the day then, and when I turned it on it was back to normal. Now cut to about four days later, and it just happened again. Any idea what this could be? I'm updating my nvidia drivers now just to make sure so I will post with an update after that, but in the mean time I could use some input on anything else that could cause this? Thanks reddit! Audacity eating hard drive space, help? Posted: 04 Jul 2019 11:19 PM PDT I was messing around with some multitracks of a song I like, and it gradually keeps making my disk space extremely low (like 60mb at some points), to the point where the program crashes and doesn't let me continue using it, and as soon as I close it the disk space goes back to normal, is there a solution? New computer, constant freezing and having to restart. Posted: 04 Jul 2019 04:12 PM PDT So I'm having a very unlucky and confusing problem. I have a brand new computer from new egg which includes. - MSI Z390 Gaming Plus Mobo - i7-9700k 3.6GHZ - Corsair DDR4 vengeance LPX 16GB of ram 3000MHz - Corsair TX850M PSU -Brand new Kingston 240GB SSD - I will include that I have a NVIDIA 1080 (but it's not relevant to the problem I'm running into) So the issue I'm running across is I'm getting constant freezing within the OS, I had spent an entire weekend troubleshooting trying to get past why the spinning wheel or windows installation wouldn't continue, it would freeze and I became quite frustrated. I then started to notice the lights on my keyboard would go out during these freezes. That's when I thought it may be a bad motherboard, or PSU.. I went and replaced the Mobo and PSU, still ran into the same issue. This is when i had lost hope. Newegg support was telling me to try things I've already tried 10x. I started messing with bios settings constantly and eventually I hit the "GAMEBOOST" option in the bios. For whatever reason this magically pushed my computer past freezing during windows installation faze and I started to think maybe the CPU wasn't getting enough or too much power? I'm not sure but I did install windows and I've gotten to the point where it can stay on with games and what not. But it'll still suddenly freeze like it had before, same issue, lights on keyboard go out etc... I can provide more pictures on discord if anyone wants to see the issue a little more in depth. I'm kinda lost as to what I should do besides RMA the cpu or completely RMA everything again. I've done this twice and ran into the problem twice on two different builds. Sony Vaio disable secure boot in BIOS not showing up?!?!? Posted: 04 Jul 2019 05:00 PM PDT I'm trying to do an erase and install of windows via bootable USB but gives an error. I read online to disable secure boot in the BIOS but that option isn't there. Can anyone suggest how to disable secure boot?! [link] [comments] |
