What's the best laptop for watching porn in 2019?

What's the best laptop for watching porn in 2019?

    Posted: 12 May 2019 09:04 PM PDT

    TLDR:

    My intended use cases:

    - Watching 4k porn videos downloaded from websites like Brazzers

What's the best laptop for my use case?

    --------------

    Laptops I've considered

    a. Laptomag says the 4k HP Envy 17 has the best screen so I'm assuming it is the best one for watching porn https://www.laptopmag.com/articles/best-17-inch-laptops

    b. The LG Gram 17 has a lower resolution screen and is 16:10 which will be worse for porn videos (except older ones, which have more square aspect ratios) but I wonder if the portability still ends up winning out because you watch porn on your couch more easily.

    c. Also, the surface book 2 15 inch is extremely bright and better for portrait images for porn (detach in tablet mode) and also porn comics for this reason. However, I am not sure if a brighter 15 inch screen beats out a 16:9 , 17 inch screen in the HP Envy 17 for porn videos.

    Issues I'm not sure about:

    1. Does better resolution and aspect ratio (HP Envy 17) beat out brightness (Surface Book 2)
    2. Does having a lighter laptop end up being more important for watching porn because you can watch porn in different places more easily (couch, bed, the porcelain throne) ?
    3. Weighing watching 4k porn videos vs watching porn comics:
      1. Do 4k videos look really good when you finally have a 17 inch laptop with a 4k screen? Or do they look about the same as 1440p porn videos downloaded from Brazzers? I have watched 4k videos on a 4k tv and it was fantastic. However, I cannot tell how much of the benefit is from the resolution vs the extra screen size. Or youtube simply not nerfing 4k videos as much as 1080p ones- so maybe 4k vids on youtube look better due to their compression algorithms and not due to actual resolution.

    ROG Zephyrus M (GM501) vs MSI GS65

    Posted: 12 May 2019 04:45 PM PDT

I'm planning to get a new laptop and like the title, I'm choosing between the Zephyrus M vs gs65. Both laptops offer i7 8th gen and gtx 1070. However, the gs65 seems to offer more configurations like the rtx2060. Should I choose gs65 for the rtx2060? Or zephyrus for better cooling (according to the design?). I also heard that the zephyrus has a booting sound, can that be turned off? Hows the keyboard for both devices? If anyone owns any (or both) of these laptops, how do they differ from each other and which one do you prefer?

Laptop for general work/basic gaming that isn't huge

    Posted: 13 May 2019 03:48 AM PDT

    • Total budget and country of purchase: £800-£1200?

    • Do you prefer a 2 in 1 form factor, good battery life or best specifications for the money? Pick or include any that apply. Not 2 in 1, not looking for insane bestofthebest battery life but my shitty MSI lasts about 2 hours now so just looking for something decent

    • How important is weight and thinness to you? woud definitely prefer something lighter than my current 15 inch MSI, not looking for a light thin notebook, but just something that doesnt feel like im opening an airplane engine in the middle of a lecture

    • Which OS do you require? Windows, Mac, Chrome OS, Linux. windows

    • Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A. 13-15 inches?

    • Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run. gaming - not any big triple AAA games designed to run on PCs, likely just league of legends

    • If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want? would want to run LoL on like low/medium settings with high fps (90-100 would be great) - or at least STABLE >60 fps, current one fluctuates a lot

    • Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)? something that doesnt feel too plasticy - againt current MSI the actual shell of the laptop feels shoddy, not need for fingerprint reader etc but welcome. being able to scroll with the trackpad would be nice

    • Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion. in the UK obviously but open to suggestions from US or other country websites as i can just find the model in the UK

Inspiron 5575 or HP 15 (pavilion?) For a ryzen 2500u?

    Posted: 13 May 2019 03:31 AM PDT

Title. Which is better at the same price? I'll almost exclusively be gaming on it.

Edit: Automod got me about the form, I don't figure it matters here because on paper, the laptops are identical.

    Laptop for engineering student

    Posted: 12 May 2019 08:16 PM PDT

    • Total budget and country of purchase: Hey there, I'm a student that is going to queens university (Ontario, Canada) for mechanical engineering this September.
    • Do you prefer a 2 in 1 form factor, good battery life or best specifications for the money? Pick or include any that apply. I don't really have a preference for 2 in 1 laptops. For the CAD software, a really good cpu and lots of ram is ideal, I would like a strong gpu as well if possible for 3d rendering.
    • How important is weight and thinness to you? Thickness isn't really that important to me but I would prefer something light cause I'll be lugging this laptop to all my classes.
    • Which OS do you require? Windows, Mac, Chrome OS, Linux. I would use windows
    • Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A. I don't have a preference for screen size but 15-17 inches would be the best.
    • Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run.The laptop would mostly be used for running CAD software (although im not sure which ones specifically) and coding with languages like java, c++ and python.
    • If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want? It would also be for occasionally running a game of league of legends or csgo at 60 fps
    • Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)? I guess just something to last me at least 4-5 years and touchscreen is always really nice but it's not needed.
    • Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion. My budget is around $1200-$1500 Canadian.

[USA] Looking for a Laptop to be used primarily for gaming and photo editing. Budget is $1200

    Posted: 12 May 2019 04:18 PM PDT

Edit: I don't care about screen size! Big or small as long as I can see it

Hey all, I'm currently using a Dell Inspiron 13 7000, which can barely run Overwatch at 20fps on low settings, and takes a couple of minutes to do large batch actions on ~80 or so photos in Photoshop.

I have absolutely no idea anything about laptop hardware or PC hardware in general, as I'm mostly a software guy and play my games on consoles, so I don't actually know where to start when searching for a laptop. Even a point in the right direction would be appreciated!

I edit photos for a living, so my laptop would need to have a color-accurate screen. I'd like for the screen to have pressure sensitive touch and pen support (blows my mind that my current laptop's touch screen doesn't work with Photoshop for some reason), as this makes my job a lot easier, but I can always just buy a drawing tablet if my dream laptop has everything but that. It would also need a lot of RAM as to my understanding Photoshop is a RAM intensive program, especially when it's running a lot batch actions. I just opened 45 pictures (29 mb total) in Photoshop, and with Chrome open I have 86% of my RAM used up according to Task Manager, with Photoshop taking up 2 GB just by sitting idle with some photos open, and Chrome taking up 1.5 GB with only 6 tabs open. I should also have an SSD as I move lots of files around a lot, but that's negotiable. The storage space also isn't really an issue as I have 2 TB external drive but enough space for me to keep some important things on my laptop, and at least 2 or 3 meaty games.

I also do game quite a bit, but have never gotten into PC gaming (partly because my computer has never been able to run anything). I do like Overwatch and Minecraft, and there's a bunch of Steam games I got on sale that I would like to play but can't actually run. So I'd like to get a laptop that can run these games and make them look good and hold a solid 60fps. And since I'd have a gaming laptop, I might as well check out some graphically intensive games that I skipped out on due to lack of hardware for it. So a laptop that could run those would be nice as well.

As for general requirements, Bluetooth is a must. There are some games that I prefer to play with a controller and would rather not have to take up a USB slot with a dongle.

an HDMI port, for when I want to watch movies on the TV

an SD card slot, since I deal with SD cards a lot in my line of work

I'm never usually away from an outlet and always take my charger with me when I bring my laptop anywhere, so battery life isn't an issue, but it would be nice if I could at least watch a full movie on a full charge.

Preferably light, but as I only rarely take my laptop anywhere that's not a huge determining factor.

And I'd at least like for it to be durable enough to not fall from my bed onto a carpeted floor and have the screen shatter! (which is why I'm replacing my laptop in the first place. Smh dropped for the first time in 3 years of owning it and it can't even take that).

A built in microphone and camera would be nice but those can always be purchased separately.

Also, if I could be bought on Best Buy's website that would be nice as I have $100 in credit from them.

Finally, the least amount of bloatware possible. I open up task manager and see a bunch of processes that take up RAM and I don't even know what they are.

    TL;DR

    Required

    • Around $1,200

    • An color-accurate screen

    • Enough RAM for Photoshop and Chrome to be open and not take up 50% of all of it.

    • Able to run games like Overwatch at a decent quality and a stable 60 FPS

    • Bluetooth

    • HDMI Port

    Not required but appreciated

    • Pressure sensitive touch screen with stylus support

    • SSD with at least an okay amount of storage space

    • and SD card slot

    • Enough battery life to watch a full length movie on one charge

    • Light enough

    • Durable

    • Built in microphone and camera

    • Can be bought on Bestbuy.com

    • PLS no bloatware

    Laptop for work, web browsing

    Posted: 12 May 2019 11:43 PM PDT

    • Total budget and country of purchase: Based in the US. I'd like to stay under $700.
    • Do you prefer a 2 in 1 form factor, good battery life or best specifications for the money? Pick or include any that apply. 2 IN 1 would be nice but not a deal breaker. Best specs preferred. I want a laptop that is powerful and fast, my current computer(very old laptop) freezes quite often.
    • How important is weight and thinness to you? Definitely want something thin and lighter weight.
    • Which OS do you require? Windows, Mac, Chrome OS, Linux. Windows
    • Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A. 13-14
    • **Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? Occasional Photo editing is probably the most intense thing I might do on laptop. Using GIMP.
    • If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want? Doesn't matter, very rarely play an indie game on Steam.
    • Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)? A good keyboard is definitely important. Reliable build quality also.
    • Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion.
I utilize a lot of tabs daily, deal with lots of large image files. Heavy Google Drive, Docs and Sheets use so I just need something that will be consistently fast. Also I want a computer that will feel like an upgrade from my wife's Asus Zenbook UX360CA-UBM1T.

I do software development and coding for living, so that's the main purpose. Watch series and movies, play a bit FIFA sometimes.

Looking for a Gaming Laptop for VJing - Live, Real-Time Graphics and Video Feedback. Budget $1,000 - $1,700

    Posted: 12 May 2019 07:48 AM PDT

NOTE: helpful form at bottom of description

Edit: Unless anyone convinces me otherwise, I think I'll be going with the ASUS ROG Strix SCAR II - on sale for $1,449 right now and has a 1070, 16GB DDR4, i7-8750H.. checks all the boxes.

    Hello,

I'm in the market for a gaming laptop for VJing (visual jockeying). The specs I'm looking for are:

    • GPU: A GTX 1060 or higher
    • CPU: Intel i7 8th or 9th gen
    • SSD: 256GB is fine, as I have plenty of portable external hard drives
    • RAM: 16GB DDR4
    • High Resolution
    • Good cooling to prevent overheating

NewEgg is currently doing a really good deal on the MSI GE63 Raider RGB-011 for $1,100 (https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?item=N82E16834154812), but I've been reading some reviews and my biggest hesitation with an MSI is that their customer service is apparently atrocious -- if something goes wrong with the laptop, I'd be shit out of luck.

I'm willing to spend up to $1,700, but obviously would be happy spending less if possible. I know I would be really happy with a GTX 1080, but from what I've been reading over at r/vjing, it looks like people with 1060s do just fine without many problems.

    EDIT: Added helpful form:

    * **Total budget and country of purchase:**

    $1,700. United States.

    * **Do you prefer a 2 in 1 form factor, good battery life or best specifications for the money? Pick or include any that apply.**

Best specs for the money. See above for spec requirements.

    * **How important is weight and thinness to you?**

I'd prefer not to have an ugly laptop, but compared to getting the right specs, I'd only rate weight and thinness a 3 or 4 out of 10.

    * **Which OS do you require? Windows, Mac, Chrome OS, Linux.**

    Windows 10 Professional

    * **Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A.**

    N/A

    * **Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run.**

Live, real-time graphics and video feedback. Will be using Resolume, Touch Designer, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe AfterEffects

    * **If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want?**

Nah, gaming would be cool but I am not basing my decision off of the ability to game. The only reason I'm looking for a gaming laptop is because the types of programs I will be running (Resolume and Touch Designer) utilize real-time graphics similarly to gaming.

    * **Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)?**

    N/A

    * **Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion.**

I don't do a ton of gaming other than playing Drone racing league simulator. I'd like to be able to play in high graphics with 80 FPS+

    • Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)? Touch screen important. Fingerprint reader important. No optical drive. Build quality important- I am sometimes hard on my belongings/electronics. "Good keyboard/trackpad?- both important although will likely be using a mouse most of the time.

    • Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion.

It will be also used for my college degree in aerospace engineering. I have had my eye on the Dell XPS for awhile now which may be a good reference point for other options.

Need a new laptop for work

    Posted: 12 May 2019 07:34 PM PDT

Hey - I'm a bookkeeper going from office to office, looking for a new laptop to take with me. Portability, processing speed, and battery life are very important. I also want to be able to use it at home to replace my current desktop computer so needs to have a docking station option.

    • Total budget and country of purchase: Under $2000 CAD
    • Do you prefer a 2 in 1 form factor, good battery life or best specifications for the money? Pick or include any that apply. Best specs, good battery life, light weight
    • How important is weight and thinness to you? Very
    • Which OS do you require? Windows, Mac, Chrome OS, Linux. Windows
    • Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A. larger than 14"
    • Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run. Some video and picture editing from my drone but it's just a hobby
    • If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want? Not much of a gamer
    • Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)? Touch screen would be nice, though I can live without. Prefer one with a keyboard with a number pad on the right as I enter a buttload of numbers (though can get a small number keyboad separately so that's not a deal breaker), 3+ USB ports, 1 HDMI port
    • Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion. I think I covered everything but like I said processing speed, and portability are my main concerns. Docking station is a must. If it has killer sound (and a headphone jack!) that's definitely be a bonus!

    Thanks for your help!!! :D

How much would you recommend this laptop for medium-light gaming in a $300 price range? (I need a laptop for school next year and want to also use it for a little gaming when I wont have my PC around)

    Acer Grade A Laptop Aspire 3 A315-21-93EY AMD A9-Series A9-9420 (3.0 GHz) 8 GB Memory 1 TB HDD AMD Radeon R5 Series 15.6" Windows 10 Home 64-Bit https://m.newegg.com/product/N82E16834316602?ignorebbr=1&m_ver=1

Edit: $300, USA| I would like the best specs for the budget, but battery life is also kind of important| Weight is not at all important to me, thinness is a little bit, I don't want a giant thick computer| Windows| N/A| I will be doing some light to moderate gaming on here. I want to be able to at least run Fortntie (not going to be playing it, but I want to at least meet it's requirements)| I want to be able to run at at least 60fps on Fortnite at least like mid-high settings| Preferably touchscreen, but doesn't need to be| At least 8-10 hrs battery life

Asus ROG Zephyrus 15” or Asus Strix Scar 2 17.3”

    Posted: 12 May 2019 07:21 PM PDT

The Asus Zephyrus 15 has a i7 8750h and a gtx 1060. The Scar has the same specs except with a rtx 2060. Both have the same storage space. Both laptops are priced similarly.

I will be using the laptop for video editing in premier as well as triple A games.

I need the laptop to maintain it high clock speeds for long periods of time.

The scar has only one stick of ram while the zephyrus has 2 sticks.

Portability is somewhat a factor. both laptops have a 144 hz panel however but the scar doesn't have Gsync compared to the zephyrus.

They are both good laptops but I'm really pulled at what to buy.

    Thanks for your time!

    Dell G3 i5-8300 15" vs. Acer Nitro i5-8300 15"

    Posted: 12 May 2019 07:11 PM PDT

I'm looking to buy a low end gaming computer that is able to run GTA and Cities Skylines pretty well. I'm currently a student so i'm gonna need to settle for a low end setup and work with my limited budget. I'm stuck between these two laptops and I'm wondering if anyone has any advice or experience with these computers. I don't plan on running super intense games and the games I do plan on running i'm ok with running them on medium graphics at around 30+ FPS.

I did my own research and I am slightly leaning towards the G3. Overall it just has better reviews and I do like the relaxed look of it. That being said, I'm not decided at all so any help and advice is more than welcome!

    Thanks!

2 in 1 Laptop for Engineering Student!

    Posted: 12 May 2019 06:24 PM PDT

My university REQUIRES me to get a laptop and here are the requirements: i7 core processor 16 GB RAM At least 256GB space (Not a requirement from my college, but I want it for gaming and video editing etc): a separate dedicated graphics (No intel BS) (Also something I want): must be 2-in-1

My budget is around $1500, but I'd be willing to go up a little if the specs are there.

I was considering the HP Spectre 15t, surface book 2, but honestly I don't know! Any recommendations would be so hopeful thanks!! :)
