OnePlus has to fix the 5.0GHz Hotspot issue before I move onto the Pro! Posted: 02 May 2019 12:19 PM PDT This issue is well documented in the OnePlus forums and reddit but they still haven't resolved the hotspot issue on the phone. Issue is simple - none of my devices can recognise the 5.0GHz band. I've seen many users report the same issue. OnePlus - this needs to fixed. It's affecting my day to day work now! Dash Charing and Android Auto? Posted: 02 May 2019 12:57 PM PDT Most USB ports on cars only give a measly 0.5 amps. You can work around this though with USB PD devices by using a USB 2.0 c to c cable and adapter, and simply splitting the data pins out to the car, since USB PD doesn't use the data pins for anything. Does this concept work for dash charging? Or does dash charge rely on the data pins like Qualcomm's Quick Charge? This makes me think it may be possible. Has anyone expirmented with this? Interested in the 7 Pro, but fast charging in the car is a must for me. [link] [comments]

Anywhere I can get the in box OP6 case? Posted: 02 May 2019 07:37 PM PDT I've been using it since I got the phone and I just dropped it and it got a scratch that makes it annoying to hold. Is there a way to buy it? [link] [comments]
Oneplus 6t adapter to charge phone and use wired headphones Posted: 02 May 2019 11:45 AM PDT Are there any known good adapters for the Oneplus 6t to charge the phone and listen to music with wired headphones at the same time? Looking around, there seem to be a lot with mixed reviews. Just looking for one that is know to work! [link] [comments]
OP3 Browsing and Internet applications in 4G is slow, tethering is fast Posted: 02 May 2019 03:42 AM PDT Hello, and let me see if I can explain this correctly. Since some weeks ago, general internet usage is slow, for anything; browsing, YouTube, messaging, any file transfer, when in 4G(LTE). My first thought would be to blame the provider. However, if I share the connection with a laptop, the result are are expected, fast loading for anything. Speed test from laptop, using phones 4G: Down: 29.34 Mbps Up: 12.91 Speedtest in the phone: Down: 31.2 Up: 20.5 So basically the same. While tethered, the laptop uses the GW, that is the phone as the DNS resolver, so I am going to guess it is NOT DNS. The striking difference is that the test, while equal in both in terms of result, it took a much longer time to start in the phone. Similarly, often pages will not load in mobile, or they may need several tries before they do. When they fail, they seem to do so with a ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT. I tried forcing LTE only, but that doesn't seems to be the issue. And yes, it happens right before a reboot too. So briefly: - The source is in both cases the LTE connection in the phone -- In the phone the browsing experience and any internet related ( reddit apps ) is poor* -- In the laptop it is just normal, you click in a YouTube video and opens instantly, for example *With poor I mean, it takes 20 or more to refresh reddit front page, for example, while the same connection, tethered in the laptop is under 2 seconds. I am at loss. Help? [link] [comments]

Where is the 6T T-Mobile edition update? Posted: 02 May 2019 09:34 AM PDT We are on a 4 month old security patch. After your bi-monthly promise, this is unacceptable. I get some people may give excuses saying "it is t-mobile's fault." As a customer, we don't care whose fault it is, we just want it fixed. (and no, flashing to the unlocked OS shouldn't be an option. Most customers won't do that). At this rate, my next new phone won't be another OnePlus. I only for the 6T for 2 reasons (previous Pixel owner).

Posted: 02 May 2019 12:33 PM PDT I've never owned a One Plus phone but they have always been on my radar. I currently have a pixel 2xl and skipped the 3 because I just didn't like what they changed and after reading reviews it seemed like a made a good choice. I was about to buy the 6t but saw that the 7 is now about to come out. I was wondering if from what we've seen so far in the leaks and media if moving to the 7 would be an upgrade and good choice from my current phone. I kinda wanted to know from the people with the 6t if the 7 is an upgrade and if it's worth it. Thanks! [link] [comments]
Is there a way to change the unlock fingerprint animation? Posted: 02 May 2019 09:45 AM PDT I know there are 3 default types. I prefer the Cosmos one because the other two are incredibly bright but it doesn't feel quite right. I would love something like the Samsung S10 animation. I know that the sensor needs green/blue light to work. But I want something cooler and not that bright. Seriously, when I used it at night it lights the whole room. For me, is the only thing that really bothers me about the phone. PS. I don't want to stop using the fingerprint scanner because I love to see my screen without having to pick up the phone. Edit. Thank you all of you for taking your time to answer my question. I just put the McLaren animation using the app method (Setting Database Editor) and it works like a charm. No root needed. It's brighter but it's faster and way cooler. [link] [comments]
Posted: 02 May 2019 01:09 PM PDT I have a rooted OnePlus 5, and previously I would update by flashing the ROM, however a couple month ago the updates from the OnePlus site weren't flashable from TWRP. So then I uninstalled Magisk, did an OTA, reinstalled TWRP using my computer then Magisk. Is there a way to A) get the flashable rom? Or B) anyway to update without using a computer to keep my root? Ive tried uninstalling Magisk using the manager, downloading the ota and installing Magisk then rebooting, from a guide on the OnePlus forums but that didn't work. [link] [comments]
Loose connection in 6T USB port Posted: 02 May 2019 09:21 AM PDT My OP 6T is 3 months old and the USB port has become very loose. The charger and earphones have stopped giving that clicky feel when I plug in and it's coming off very easily. Will this be covered under warranty? Edit: Blowing some air at the port worked for me. Thanks to everyone who suggested it. I am relieved it wasn't a big deal [link] [comments]

3D model of OnePlus One's styleswap cover Posted: 02 May 2019 02:42 AM PDT Hi, I've been looking for OPO's styleswap cover forever but it's near impossible to find it now. So, I looked around oneplus's forums and found the .stl file for the phone with the correct dimension. Maybe I can 3D print it? I've never learn how to edit a mesh, or anything related to 3D modeling and was playing around with Fusion 360 (Apparently Undergrads can get a educational version so I used that) to edit the mesh so that only the back cover and the important hinges are intact. Attached is my Google Drive folder to the original .stl file that was used for some peripheral contest for the OPO (https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/oneplus-x-ultimaker-creative-contest.270990/) and the one that I've edited. I can't seem to fix the bottom left hand corner hinge as it was model in a way that Fusion will delete that face too... I hope someone can help me check if this cover is acceptable, give me some advice on how to fix it and maybe help me improve on a bit? https://drive.google.com/open?id=1n6bEuyx6OsDqZzSQG_ixd9rW-GLLQRiB The OnePlus_One_Back is the one that I've edited. Edit: I've found the link to the original .stl [link] [comments]

Alternate Appearance for OnePlus Face Unlock Posted: 02 May 2019 11:11 AM PDT I am aware that Face Unlock on the OnePlus devices isn't the most secure, however I greatly enjoy the ease of using my phone with it activated. My one complaint is that Face Unlock does not work for me when I am wearing any form of Sunglasses, so when I am wearing my regular frames or contacts it's fine but the moment I put on my sunglasses it fails every time. Working on iPhones I have noticed for Face ID it is possible to set up an "Alternate Appearance" so the phone can recognize you if some drastic change has been made (like putting on sunglasses) and I think it would be great if OnePlus would implement a similar feature. Considering it only uses a picture as a point of reference is it not feasible to have more than one picture as a point of reference to allow face unlock? [link] [comments]
Bluetooth volume resets back to zero after every disconnect/reconnect? Posted: 02 May 2019 09:58 AM PDT My OnePlus 5T has started having the Bluetooth audio volume get set to zero after every connect/disconnect from a device (headphones and car stereo, in my case). This started happening about 3-5 days ago and I have no idea what could have caused it. I hadn't changed any settings in my phone when it started happening, and I tried playing with the "sync Bluetooth volume" toggle after it started and it didn't seem to make a difference. Has anybody else noticed this happening with their device? [link] [comments]
