Do not buy the Sandstone case

    Posted: 13 May 2019 02:01 AM PDT

Some of you might remember me asking about Karbon case quality a few weeks back.

In general, people had commented how their Sandstone cases were also falling apart. I had decided to message OnePlus on twitter regarding this.

After a bunch of back and forth between their support and myself over twitter over the course of multiple days, them asking for further details, order numbers, more photos, the general answer was: "We could see that the OnePlus Protective case has physical/accidental damage."

Well... no shit? Since it fecking falls apart.

Their "replacement" policy for cases is 15 days. They don't consider their shit products in any way faulty...

Basically, don't waste your money on this overpriced crap. It'll be ok for a month just to cover their arses, and then it'll flake off. Save your 22 Euro, drink it, burn the money... but you'll have gotten more use and less frustration than thinking they care about the customer.

Who else is genuinely excited that OnePlus will release a true flagship phone tomorrow?

Oppo (parent company of OnePlus) under display camera later this year....

    Posted: 13 May 2019 06:48 PM PDT

Oppo F11/Find X had the pop-up camera that has now found its way to the OnePlus 7. I'm betting my money the under display camera comes to the OnePlus 7T or at least the OP 8. I was going to get the OP 7 Pro but I think I'll wait til next year as I'm still very happy with my OP 6.

Edit: Oppo and OnePlus share the same parent company, Vivo.

Just curious, what are yalls thoughts on the Pixel 3a?

    Posted: 13 May 2019 01:16 PM PDT

So I've been an avid OnePlus ever user since I was on the waiting list for the One, then I eventually upgraded to a 3 and now a 5T since Feb of last year. After seeing the specs and price of the newly announced Pixel 3a, I'm really curious as to what y'all think about it? I really enjoy my 5T but I feel that the 3a could possibly be my next phone (of course depending on reviews once it's out). But of course with the 7 announcement coming around the corner too, I might just upgrade to that

Has OnePlus actually used the 'Flagship Killer' marketing slogan since OP2?

    Posted: 13 May 2019 03:49 AM PDT

A sincere question. Because I constantly see people harping on them for increased prices and whatnot while trying to be a FLAGSHIP KILLER but I can't recall hearing that from the company side in ages. I honestly feel like the company itself has moved past that years ago, leaving the tech community to be the ones struggling to move on and face the fact that OnePlus isn't that cute little startup it once was.

    Baby Steps. Guide me?

    Posted: 13 May 2019 12:13 PM PDT

Hey all. Got a shiny new One Plus 6T (Mirror Black) yesterday. Before this, I was using a Xiaomi Mi A1. Big jump, eh? Right, so I'm getting used to this device and man, am I bewildered. The screen. The performance. Dash charging. The camera. I can go on and on about how this feels so new to me even though I'm well-acquainted with the world of smartphones. Dear users, I really wish to carry forward a long journey with this phone and would like your hand-picked, personal tips to keep this phone running at its best at all times. Everything from the battery life, app management, hardware protection, etc. Help a fellow mate out?

    WARP charger

    Posted: 13 May 2019 03:57 PM PDT

    Hey all!

Ive read about the incoming warp charger (that was exclusive to the mclaren edition)

I own a OP6t, is the warp charger compatible with it retroactively? Or only the regular charger

I love the OnePlus, however I do not want to get the 6T because it comes without an aux jack. Should I buy the older models on Amazon? Do they even sell new models on Amazon?

    Posted: 13 May 2019 11:32 AM PDT

I need the aux jack to listen to music as I don't want a dongle. However, I do not want a refurbished phone. Should I just suck it up and deal with the dongle or take a risk with Amazon? I was going to get the 6 with 128 GB and 8 RAM. I am in desperate need of a phone but it would be nice to finance a new one.

    Strange changes on 6T

    Posted: 13 May 2019 02:59 PM PDT

So I've had the 6t since launch. I love it but I've noticed a couple things that seem like bugs that I want to see if anyone else has run into. The one that bugs me the most is that my ringer volume will simply go to zero (muted) randomly. I never set it to mute, that's what I have the alert slider for. Also my Facebook messenger notification ringtone likes to change randomly. A small part of me is worried that my phone is compromised and the hacker likes to inconvenience me so I miss phone calls, emails, and texts. Anyone else have these sort if issues?

    Delayed notifications?

    Posted: 13 May 2019 12:43 PM PDT

I have tried pretty much everything i have been able to find from google searches, but nothing seems to work. When my Oneplus 5 is locked i rarely get messages unless i wake up the phone and unlock it. Does anyone have any suggestions how to fix this? Would a factory reset maybe help?

design issue with the alarm settings (?)

    Posted: 13 May 2019 02:47 PM PDT

    reference image

so I've switched back from alarmy pro to the alarm offered by the default clock app on my OP5.

the issue I'm facing with it is that they placed the bright purple 'delete' button at the bottom instead of somewhere maybe on the top left side or right side. due to this i impulsively press the 'delete' button, confusing it for the 'confirm' button, after customizing the desired settings.

why this is bothering me is because I've had to make the same mistake twice before having to be extremely careful to set a simple alarm.

I think the 'confirm' but and the 'delete' button should be switched, which would definitely be a better design choice, in my opinion.

    what do you think?

Screen popped out, but managing it using a case.. (OnePlus 3)

    Posted: 13 May 2019 03:22 AM PDT

I don't know if the battery has bulged or anything, but the screen popped out of the metal base, left, right sides and top-right corner.. The mobile works fine in all aspects. But I do experience low SOT and above average heating.
I read in forums that even the screen isn't damaged the service center guys would say it needs replacement and then charge you accordingly. Any idea, what's going on, and what course of action I must take?

Are these deals too good to be true or not?

    Posted: 13 May 2019 02:25 PM PDT

Hello, I'm aware that OnePlus is going to be launching their new phone tomorrow however with what will probably be a flagship price and my interest in a headphone jack, I was interested in upgrading from my 3T to a 6.

While I was searching for the best place to buy one I noticed that on ebay there are several dealers, usually trusted ones too, that would sell the 256gb model only for a slim more expensive than the 128gb. Is this too good to be true? It's very strange and I'm really skeptical, I was wondering if anyone else has experience in these types of situations

Downsides to getting a 6t from giztop vs official site?

    Posted: 13 May 2019 11:23 AM PDT

It seems like theres straight up no taxes on giztop so it's going to be cheaper. Also they still have the 6gb/128gb variant in stock which is even cheaper on it's own while it seems to be phased out on the official site.

Thinking of upgrading from s7 to a 6t how would you say the 6t display will fair against s7? I know the resolution is already lower but what about colour accuracy and brightness?

    Replacing battery in my 5t?

    Posted: 12 May 2019 09:02 PM PDT

There's nothing wrong with my battery, it just isn't getting the SOT it used to. I'm thinking about replacing the battery myself. Has anybody done this? Where should I buy the battery from? Is iFixit a reliable source for batteries?

I miss my OP5 battery was so much better

    Posted: 13 May 2019 08:06 AM PDT

My mic was broken and I got an offer on a S9 I couldn't refuse. But damn. I miss my OP5 so much. This S9 draining so fast and charging so slow, at least it feels like that when I'm used to OP5 R.I.P. my OP5 😢

Anybody here have experience with the 3t and the 6t?

    Posted: 13 May 2019 01:57 PM PDT

My question is pretty simple, for anyone with experience with both phones, how do the cameras compare?

I've had my 3t for about 2.5 years now, and I love the phone, well, except for the camera. My phone before this was a cheapo Metro PCs only Samsung I got for free and the camera was better than my 3t.

Would love to stick with OnePlus and either get a 6t or maybe a 7 since that's about to come out. But alas, I've made the decision I want at least a decent camera.

    Thanks for any replies!
