| Posted: 03 Apr 2019 12:52 PM PDT Since the demise of Inbox, I decided that I would try to just create all the labels I needed from Inbox and sort of do my own makeshift bundling. However, when I tried to edit my bills label to Finance, it said it was reserved? See image below. So, if it is reserved does this mean that Inbox bundling is coming at some point to Gmail? On my iPhone, I had my calendar notifications stay on screen until I dismissed them so I never missed a calendar event. I've tried setting up the same thing on my new phone but I can't seem to find any setting to do so in the Blackberry and Google calendar apps, as well as in the phone settings. Posted: 03 Apr 2019 06:11 PM PDT So recently my phone has been randomly (seemingly with no cause or pattern) opening Google Play's update page. https://i.imgur.com/8LulhqD.png I've read other posts about Google Play opening randomly being related to malware through an app installed but, in all of those cases the Google Play store opens up to either advertisements or a specific app to be downloaded. All it ever does for me is show my my available updates. I've also got barely any apps installed, and especially nothing suspect. Furthermore this started happening only recently, and I havent installed any new apps for as long as I can remember. I tried updating all apps in case it was just really trying to get me to do so, but even still after that it opens the page pretty frequently. Does anyone have any ideas? Its pretty annoying because it will close anything Im currently doing to show me my updates :/ I appreciate any help! [link] [comments]  |
| Unable to perform carrier reset Posted: 03 Apr 2019 03:53 PM PDT We are in the process of porting 50 numbers or so from Verizon to Sprint. We have the SIM cards from Sprint and their instructions. When I get to the carrier reset/SCRTN step, the ##72786# doesn't work and there is no option in settings to update the network profile. These are all Galaxy S8s that we got from Verizon, but Verizon confirmed they are all carrier unlocked. Any ideas? [link] [comments]  |

| Posted: 03 Apr 2019 06:12 AM PDT Trying out Syncthing and first it asked me whether I want to turn off Battery Optimization for Syncthing and I'm like "Sure, why not?". Then it asked me if I want to let the app always run in the background and I'm like "Wait. What? What's the difference?". So then I dug into the settings and app info. Turns out every app has a switch for both. So what's the difference? I'm using a Pocophone F1 running Lineage OS 16. [link] [comments]  |
| Phone stuck in fastboot flash mode, cant enable usb debugging Posted: 03 Apr 2019 09:02 PM PDT Title. I have an old moto e xt830c that went under 10% battery and is now stuck in ap fastboot flash mode (s). It says the battery is ok now, device is locked, status code: 0, and the usb is connected right now. When i try holding power or power and volume down, it just goes black and takes me back to flash mode screen. I tried letting the battery drain all the way, which at least gave me the charge screen but nothing else, so i let it charge all the way and still nothing. I just dont see a way to enable usb debugging without getting on the phone and i cant. [link] [comments]  |

| Used Pixel 2 is asking to Verify Google Account Posted: 03 Apr 2019 07:52 PM PDT So a co-worker stupidly did not listen to me when I told him to reset his phone and take off the PIN before sending it out. I got it thinking nothing of it (dumb move), did a factory reset using the Volume/Power buttons. I verified it booted into "welcome to your new phone" and then shipped it off to my sister (again, not thinking anything of it since I reset it and it looked fine) I am not there to help my sister. She is not super tech savvy, but is not entirely tech illiterate and isn't afraid to mess around. She got the phone and is stuck trying to get into the phone. It keeps asking for her to verify the Google account.... I have the login from the previous owner... She tried using that, but it tells her that something about the pw changing recently and that she needs to wait 24 hours... we've done that. I can actually log in to the previous owners google account.. I can see the phone still connected but Google doesn't seem to have a way to remove it. 2FA is not on. Other than rooting/hooking up over USB, how can I correct this so she can use the phone? She is saying that it is not getting to the point to where she can get to wifi but I am skeptical that she is just missing some screen... so she has been putting in her SIM for data but she just keeps going in circles where it wont accept the login, it still needs verification... How can this be corrected? I have looked a few guides for messing with the TalkBack to get into settings and opening YT videos so she can sign in with her phone and all kinds of stuff... | Lock screen lag after entering password Posted: 03 Apr 2019 07:31 PM PDT Hey everyone, I am having a serious problem on my Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo. The lock screen turns on fine, and I can swipe to the unlock screen and enter my password, there is about a 5 second or so of lag before the phone gets unlocked. The problem is present when I have screen unlock set to pattern or pin/password, but not when I have I have it set to "swipe." I have all my animations set to 0.5, FYI. I'll be in call on any app that has that feature, and I hear everything through my headphones, until I get a notification, it drops the headphones and uses the main speaker. After a few seconds it goes back to pushing audio through the headphones. It's really frustrating because I miss a lot of what people are telling me. Any ideas what's causing this and how to fix it? My headphone jack has trouble keeping headphones in sometimes, I wonder if the vibration is enough to interrupt the connection. [link] [comments]  |

| How to edit "supported links"? Posted: 03 Apr 2019 03:12 PM PDT This is using Android 7.0. For a concrete example of what I want to do, it set VLC to open Youtube links. In theory, this should be easy - I would just take the 4 links that are by default set for the Youtube app, and enter those as supported links for VLC, then set YT to never open links, and VLC to always open. However, it appears the "supported links" field is not editable: https://i.imgur.com/dKhQd4v.png And without the entries here, it appears Android just opens the default browser and never asks which app to open them with. So how can I edit this? How can I manually add links here? Or is there another way to make Android regard this app as a candicate for opening Youtube links and suggest it when I try to open a link (so I can then choose "always")? [link] [comments]  |

Posted: 03 Apr 2019 06:51 PM PDT ...and I don't mean this workaround crap like having to put it to speakerphone to be able to hear the other side, or having to dial a third party, or use an external device. So it shows up on Find My Device along with my current phone. i went back to Find My Device and it still shows up as an option to 'find'. | My photos disappeared from my Samsung Galaxy, please help x/posted from r/technology Posted: 03 Apr 2019 06:17 PM PDT I'm having a photo issue with my Samsung Galaxy Alpha (yes I know it's old, but this problem seems to happen on all sorts of Samsung Galaxies). Most of my photos are no longer in the gallery app. I see only 175 photos in the general photo folder, where there should be something like 1000. My photos in the other folders, such as the saved instagram version, edited versions, downloads, etc, are still there. Well, they were, until I rebooted my phone. Then everything was gone, all photos, all documents too. I then installed ES File Explorer, and found .nomedia in hidden files, deleted those instances, and everything came back except for those ~825 photos missing. What steps should I take next to 'find' these photos? To be clear, I never deleted them, and I don't have kids or a partner to go in and delete anything by accident. I still have space on my phone, and if I had been running low I imagine I would have gotten a warning message. I haven't updated anything either, and I don't have automatic updates enabled Perhaps you could point me in the right direction? Thanks [link] [comments]  |
