Is anybody pissed that the PlayStore could delist a game you paid for due to GDPR and the publishers aren't doing anything to change the game and you can't get a refund?

    Posted: 01 Apr 2019 10:13 AM PDT

I bought ShadowRun and ShadowRun: DragonFall a while ago and played the first one for half way thru maybe into my tablet died.

Now I got a new one and want to install both games but nope they're both removed due to compliance issues with GDPR, and while HareBrained Games is aware of the issue they haven't been responsive to the matter and meanwhile the games are just delisted, with no means to install and play for something that I bought.

Now I'm not sure what other apps/games are affected but I feel that if something you bought is no longer available due to the publisher or distributor, they should be the ones liable for making it available again in reasonable timeline, otherwise the customer should be entitled for a refund (not that it's what I want, but purely on the principle).

Loving XCOM: Enemy Within but, need some help.

    Posted: 01 Apr 2019 06:42 AM PDT

I bought the game when it was on sale and now am in love with it. However, it's super fricking hard even on easy mode.

So, I was just wondering if there are some must know tips and strategies to make the game easier. Am I missing something? Because, I get beaten every single time within two or three days of realtime.

Also, I learned that other versions of the game have huge number of mods. Are any of them available for the android version? Or can I modify the save file or use someone else's save file?

I really like the game and want to see the total story at least once.

Are there any android games similar to Sekiro or Metal Gear Solid?

    Posted: 01 Apr 2019 08:41 PM PDT

Im gonna be away from my ps4 for a while so I need some games to scratch my itch. Stealth games like MGS or action rpg games like Sekiro or Dark Souls should do the trick.

    Thanks in advance!

    Games like Occidental Heroes?

    Posted: 01 Apr 2019 01:19 PM PDT

Wonderful game but pretty shallow at the moment. Hoplite is good, but no story. Gets repetitive. Any other games like it? I love the aesthetic.

[DEV] Not an April Fools Joke, John On Fire is officially live and in Production today! (Plus new game play trailer)!

[DEV] Not an April Fools Joke, John On Fire is officially live and in Production today! (Plus new game play trailer)!

First of all, thank you to r/AndroidGaming for all of your support with this project. I can't believe the reception that this game got in Beta testing alone. In total, 1,360 people joined the Beta release of the game, and the only major advertising I did was post 2 posts in this subreddit. Where Twitter and Facebook failed, Reddit game to the rescue. You guys are phenomenal! Without the support of this subreddit, I'm not sure I would have made the early April launch target.

    What is John On Fire?

John on Fire was a part of my dream to build a quality, story driven, duel joystick, top down shooter game to mobile platforms starting with Android. The game follows John, a former assassin who has since retired, being pulled back into the business when his cat is taken from him. Along the way, John will make friends, find true love, rack up an insane body count of bad guys, and rescue his beloved cat Mittens. The game is meant to be light hearted and funny, as it takes its inspiration from the plot-lines of my favorite blockbusters, while also providing some really fun shoot em' up gameplay.

My goal was to build a fun game while proving that P2W, micro-transaction based business models prevalent in mobile gaming are not the only way to build a successful game targeting mobile (I still believe in the old-school model of building a fun story driven, pay once and get all the content, style game). The game is "Free To Play" in the sense that it is completely beatable (and I spent a lot of time playing specifically with only the free version assets to make sure the whole game can be beat) without buying the full version. However, it is "Freemium" in that purchasing the full version allows for additional premium weapons, armor, and extra future content to be unlocked (expansion packs, new game modes, etc).

Whats new?- Biggest update yet, 16 new story missions added, plus over a dozen new side missions

    - Lots of usability improvements

    - Full release is now available, initial full story mode released

    - Over a dozen new weapons released, 34 total are now available

    - No longer considered in "Beta" testing, this bad boy is live to the general public

**Where can I get the latest game news / Where can I request new features?**Following on Twitter is the best way to get updates. New feature requests can be sent there as well (https://twitter.com/XKSoftwareDev)

We also have a Facebook page (search XK Software Development) if you prefer

What are we planning on adding next?- Survival Mode is a work in progress. By the end of John on Fire, John has a huge bounty on his head. Everyone wants to kill him. Survival mode will see John (and allies) face off against hoards of enemies that get increasingly more powerful. Guns that are unlocked as part of the main story and side missions will be available in Survival model. I really want to focus on getting this feeling right and being a heck of a lot of fun. Hoping to release something in late April.

    - Controller support (not guaranteed, but will be exploring a proof of concept for this soon)

    - Zombie Mode - Additionally, a zombie survival game mode will be added after survival mode

    - Additional expansions to the main story (without spoiling the story, the ending opens up John to travel the world. John and his friends might fight crime in locales all over the globe. I want the main story to just be the beginning)

What android apps would you recommend playing that don't require internet?

    Posted: 01 Apr 2019 09:50 AM PDT

I've got a 16 hour flight coming up and would love to play some Android games to pass the time. However, I don't normally game so I am not "in the know" of what's addictive enough to pass 16 hours by. What are your recommendations?

And I say "no internet" because I doubt it'll be a WiFi flight.

[Request] Looking for a game like [Terra Battle 1]

    Posted: 01 Apr 2019 01:42 PM PDT

I played Terra Battle 1 at its release for several months, took a break, and came back at the moment where they were introducing theDragon Kings

Challenge was unreal as F2P, but after countless of hours of farming and acquiring units, i managed to clear Gold pool-units, defeat Shinen, the trio Dragons and the Moon & Sun Kings

I just loved how i had to clear one goal at a time to be able to clear the next goal, was an insanely satisfying game design.

TBH, it's the only Android game where i struggled so much but not because of how i was unlucky with my pulls,, but because of the design of the fights

When i was failing, i knew it was from one of my mistakes, and it felt " normal " not to be able to clear the stage because of it

Hence it felt so rewarding to clear all end game content after an insane amount of die & retry

Then i stopped TB1 when TB2 got released. Played TB2 for a few weeks and then stopped it. A lot of things were off with the latter. Never really got into it.

Then a year later i read TB2 servers were shutting down

One year has passed, i played a few other gacha games in the meantime but for some reason i re-installed TB1 today with a new account (lost my logins...) and the nostalgia is here but at the same time, i can clearly remember why i loved so much this game

The musics, the arts, the gameplay, the progression, the equipments... everything is fitting at its perfect place.

Thnig is, i'm not sure i can re-do all from scratch even if all content and stages are now unlocked (no need to wait for weekly rotations)

    Hence my question...

    • Do you happen to know an Android game that somehow has Terra Battle 1 soul ?
    • Gameplay wise ?
    • Challenge wise ?
    • Music & design wise ?

So many gachas are copy/pasting their mechanic from one game to the other, yet i havent found any game inspired by TB1 mechanics... at my great sadness

    • I currently play Sdorica & Another Eden

    April Fools' Day

While several teams of game developers and distributors produce content to entertain users, the NoxPlayer developer team has the great idea of lying about the compatibility of their emulator with a title that is in high hype. How cancer can be a lie that makes users to make a mistake?

    S10 screen resolution problems?

Does anyone have problems when using these new bezel-less screens? The resolution seems to be wide screen and tall. It makes it hard to take screen shots or record without major editing.
