Overwatch/Apex Legends crashing after 15-30 minutes Posted: 27 Feb 2019 09:12 PM PST This issue has been occurring for the past 3 weeks. I'll open up a game, play for about 15 minutes and it will just crash. Most of the time it will give me some kind of error, but there are a few times when it will BSOD or just freeze completely and not allow me to do anything but forcefully restart my computer. I was using a R9 280 before, and I thought that upgrading my GPU would help so I bought a RX Vega 56 and it is still doing the same thing. I ran Windows Memory Diag and the results came back fine. I uninstalled my graphics drivers completely, then reinstalled with the latest drivers. I went into BIOS and turned off STI. Ran stress tests on my CPU and GPU, all results were fine. (no overheating, games crash with temps around 60c) Here are my PC specs: Ryzen 5 2600 X470 Aorus Ultra Gaming ATX mobo G.Skill Ripjaws 16GB (2x8) DDR4-3200 ROSEWILL Gaming 80 Plus Gold 550W PSU ADATA SU800 256GB SSD WD Caviar Blue 500GB WD Caviar Blue 500GB Help would be VERY appreciated. Let me know whatever information you need. [link] [comments] |
Need help setting up router for shitty roommate Posted: 27 Feb 2019 07:16 AM PST So, I live in a house with 3 friends and one of them wants to be a youtuber/cover artist so he basically bots 100 or so bots to view his channel all day. He does this with everything, he bought10k followers on instagram and twitter. The problem is, that it's making the internet for the rest of us extremely unstable. I work from home, also study and game. And all of this needs a decent connection. For example, I can play a game with 30ms that spikes up to 350ms+ and down nonstop. It's EXTREMELY unstable. We tried talking to him about this, he said he would stop with this, but yesterday he forgot his door open and I managed to see a shit-ton of youtube tabs refreshing. I know it's shitty of me to do this, since he pays the internet as well, but so does everybody else. Besides, he's not even home when he does this. Is there any way I can lower his speed through the router or create a different SSID just for him with lower speeds? My router model is Humax HG100R-L2 (I live in Brazil and I don't know if the rest of the world will know this model, sorry) [link] [comments] |
Pc restarting few times, afterwards works normal Posted: 27 Feb 2019 09:51 PM PST Dear redditors, I have been lately experiencing this issue, my pc would restart after I turn it on and start a game, but if I don't run a game - it can work normaly for hours. Last night when I came back from gym I turned it on, watched anime on a site and proceeded to run YouTube videos while I cooked and did other stuff. The pc was running for approx 1.5-2hrs, when I decided to open dota2 and spectate a game. As soon as the dota match loaded my Pc restarted. Usually this issue happens after I turn a game on, but it is not a rule, it happened few times with Google Chrome which had YouTube and few other tabs. What is weird is that I can use my PC normally after those few restarts. Sometimes it was just once, but mostly happens around 3 times. There have been few bosd which showed up, but for some reason the Viewer seems to have found less then what I remember experiencing. I have tried swapping out my GPU. I had been using for 6years AMD apu a10 5800k and it worked just fine, but I remember having to swap out the first amd 5800 APU I got since it had a defect part in the graphic chip and caused a similar error (pc would restart when opening a video or playing a game, but it could be anytime the defective part has to do some work, do technically it could work normal for 1hr then restart). Out of that experience I just bought a new GPU and disabled the iGPU from my APU. The same issue kept happening so I even sealed that Card for a new one. It didn't help, so I did stress tests with memtest 86 and I must say the very first time I tried to run it, it froze on the menu screen, but then worked just fine after the restart. Also no issues where found. I have done some benchmark stress test with MSI afterburner and I remember 1 time my pc restarted when I clicked to get a fullwindow ( from resolution 1600x720 to 1920x1080). But it was about the only time that happened I had the program run the stress tests and it would not restart. The only things I do not know how to test are my MB and PSU, I'll run some CPU stress test in an hour. I also replaced my HDD with an SSD to remove it from suspicion and possible cause. And here is the image of blue screens: https://imgur.com/a/vOUzJXs Could You please help me? Thank You in advance! Router was reset, now only WiFi works, hardwire only connects to router but not internet. Posted: 27 Feb 2019 09:51 PM PST My family reset the router earlier today and since then my hardwire on my desktop stopped working. I'm connected to my router but it shows no internet access. WiFi still works fine, but I need a hardwire connection. I've reset the router a few more times since then but same results. [link] [comments] |
Pointed my domain MX records to gmail but still can't get email on it. Posted: 28 Feb 2019 01:32 AM PST So I have domain at Namecheap and google suite account. In namecheap I can select gmail for the DNS settings which supposedly sets all the MX records needed to route email to my google suite gmail ( i have the paid account) The domain is verified at google suite but I still don't get any emails neither even a bounce back. I tried even entering manually the MX records that are listed on google side, but still nothing works. I've been waiting days with both ways of setting it and nothing. What am I missing? Display Drivers causing lock up Posted: 28 Feb 2019 03:51 AM PST I have two display adapters listed on my device manager: my Radeon RX 560 and the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter. The basic display adapter is supposed to be the integrated HD graphics on my 3570k CPU, which should normally be disabled because I have my Radeon card in. That's not the case. I have uninstalled the intel drivers and I'm not connected to the internet, and as soon as I connect to my network the drivers automatically download and lock up my system. It freezes, I reset, and then won't actually get farther than the post screen. It just goes black or freezes at the OS loading screen and there is no input. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the most recent Radeon software and it doesn't change a damn thing. If I try and uninstall or disable the other display adapter, it just comes right back on reset. Installing the intel drivers doesn't do anything either. I've also selected primary display adapter as PCIe in the BIOS and that did nothing. I'm really at a loss and I would very much like to get this working 😪 [link] [comments] |
Posted: 28 Feb 2019 03:47 AM PST Spotify++ and Popcorn time got revoked so I deleted them but when I did it didnt disappear and I can still press it (it crashes) and when I hold it the x appears but there's no option to uninstall. External harddrive not recognized in Windows 10 Posted: 28 Feb 2019 03:44 AM PST Hi, I have an old external harddrive, bought in 2010. It's a Western Digital My Passport Essential. Everything worked in Windows 7 but I haven't been using it for some years. Now, in Windows 10, it won't show up as a drive. I know the drive itself is working, because I've stored it safely and I have a few other drives of that exact brand, and NONE show up in Windows 10. No matter which drive, which USB-slot, which cable. The USB-sound is triggered when I plug the drive in, and it shows as faultless and with the latest working drivers in device manager. I've checked disk management, and there the drive shows up as "Disk 2" (0 and 1 are my fixed drives) with three partitions - one EFI system partition, one primary partition and one small "not allocated" partition. ALL options are grayed out - I can't choose a drive letter, I can't do anything except "convert to dynamic disk" and set "new simple volume" for only the small non-allocated partition. Everything else is grayed out. Help! :) Thank you. [link] [comments] |

Replacing wraith with tx3 evo on ryzen 2600 worth it? Posted: 28 Feb 2019 03:40 AM PST I have an hyper tx3 evo for am3, which is compatible with my am4 build, but I'm not sure if it is fine or not to mounting it. I have the impression that its weight and/or its bracket tension bended the mobo i first used it in the course of two or three years (it was an asus m4a77tusb3, a bit on the cheaper side but well built nonetheless). It was slightly but I think it may have something to do with the build getting unstable and bsoding, needing to be replaced at last. Is there something I can do to reinforce it to not bend? Now I'm using a matx mobo from asus too, PRIME-B450M-GAMING-BR. Is there a wrong way to mount the bracket to the point it applies more tension than needed? COuld I had mounted it wrong in my previous build? Need to explain too, I don't intend to overclock it at the moment, actually I put an offset of -115mV. I want this build to last for years, I don't consider normal to replace a pc within less than six or seven years, and since the safe voltage limit is close to nominal voltages in my opinion, I want this processor to be as cool as possible, but if it will damage other component, I will rely just on undervolting to keep it cool. Posted: 28 Feb 2019 03:31 AM PST I don't know what I did to get it there, but there is a sliding bar on the right side of chrome that is permanently there. It's only on chrome and it's even there when Youtube and Prime Video are full screen, which is annoying. I just want to know how to get rid of it. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 28 Feb 2019 03:30 AM PST My google account has recently been deactivated for no reason but now I have it reactivated. I synced everything but I have a problem signing in to YouTube. when I go to the YouTube site it shows me as a newcomer and I'm not signed in even if I'm signed in other sites. I can access all sites except YouTube. Every time I click on the Sign In thing it redirects me to a support.google.com website that says "Sorry, this page can't be found". It also doesn't work with the app. I just got my account reactivated an hour ago. I don't know if it is just delayed but I'll keep this updated. Replacement for a remote control for an old Samsung TV Posted: 28 Feb 2019 03:17 AM PST The remote control for my Samsung TV UA37D5000, which I bought in 2012, is malfunctioning. I need a replacement. I was offered a remote for a Samsung TV UA28H4100. Will it work with my TV? If not, are there any suitable remotes other than an original one made for my particular model? Year or so old IBP computer made odd noise. Posted: 27 Feb 2019 07:41 PM PST So the computer was making an odd noise, not sure how to describe it really, crackling would be too extreme, it doesnt sound that bad. But I tilted the computer a bit and it seemed to stop, and when I set it back down it didn't continue. I dusted it out and tightened all the screws I could find, and then 4 or 5 hours later it made the noise again for 3 or 4 seconds. If my headphones were on I wouldn't have heard it. Any ideas? High input lag the first time of the day that I turn my pc on. Posted: 28 Feb 2019 03:12 AM PST Hey guys, something really weird is happening with my computer(custom build) I have no idea why or how is this possible but the first time of the day that I turn on my pc the input lag is higher than usual (I can feel the difference between different delays) But the strange thing is that when I restart my pc that high input lag I had just disappears like that. I already rebuild my pc and put it back together and this still happens. [link] [comments] |
[Help] Windows activation problem / clean windows install Posted: 28 Feb 2019 03:07 AM PST hey guys, I have been running windows 10 trial version and have just recently bought a key. when i try to apply the key it looks like its going to work and then i get the error message " 0xC004C008". PC suddenly shuts down and wont start up with GPU. Posted: 28 Feb 2019 03:06 AM PST I built my computer 4 years ago and has been fine until today when i was playing games and alll of a sudden my pc shuts down and wont turn on. When I try to turn it on and off the power supply makes a clicking sound. So I thought my power supply was dead until I took off the gpu wires and my pc finally turned on. Does this mean that my gpu is dead? Or can I still fix this? USB WiFi Dongle suffering inexplicably slow speeds Posted: 27 Feb 2019 09:01 PM PST So I purchased an Asus USB-AC54 yesterday as I was unable to connect my PC to my router via Ethernet any longer. I had to move my Huawei B618 to a different location in the house for better reception, with the downside of now needing WiFi on my desktop. Anyway, I got home, installed the driver and utility software and opened up speedtest.net. To my dismay, I only got about 1Mbps down and 0.5Mbps up. Wondering if it might just be the router, I pulled out my phone and ran a speedtest on that as well. About 13Mbps down and 5Mbps up. So not the router. I Googled a bit, and couldn't find anything that would really help me. Most articles I could find focus on router issues, or Windows gobbling up bandwidth with background apps and so on. Clearly since every other WiFi device in the house is perfoming as expected it can't be that. And I checked my resource monitor, nothing else was using any amount of bandwidth that would have such a profound effect. Also of note, for a couple of minutes while I was trying to figure out what the issue might be I suddenly found the connection to be running at about 21Mbps on my PC. That didn't last long though, and I couldn't figure out what I had done differently. I should note during this short period I was in the process of downloading a Linux ISO to test if Windows 10 might be the culprit. No other downloads went this fast. So not sure if it has anything to do with the download, or if it just happened to be in those few minutes that everything was working fine. Shortly after the download completed my speeds sank back down though. Does anyone have any advice for me? Any idea, based on my essay above what the root cause might be? I can't think that it's poor antennae in the dongle, there's more space in there than in my phone, and it works fine. Thanks in advance for any assistance! [link] [comments] |

Alternative to a compute stick Posted: 28 Feb 2019 02:54 AM PST So I have an intel inside compute stick that was used to just run a html file, it was running windows 8.1 but eventually wouldn't boot right and would always go to auto recovery mode, which would never be able to do anything. I've now been trying to format it and install windows 10 on it, but the bar always gets stuck as to which I believe is a corrupt file. Is there any way to just run a html file just on a screen, or a way to fix this corrupted file on the compute stick [link] [comments] |
Posted: 27 Feb 2019 11:06 PM PST Tried to play minecraft but it wouldn't let me due to not supporting OpenGL. Apparently my graphics card doesn't have drivers installed and it also says code 43 on it too. Since my graphics card is by intel, I've tried to download some drivers from their website but my processor type doesn't support it or smthn. I have a Acer computer at Windows 10。 [link] [comments] |
