How do I stop Snapchat from updating to the alpha? Posted: 25 Feb 2019 12:18 PM PST I was on the normal version, but then I reinstalled Snapchat, and now it won't start without a forced "Snapchat is updating!" dialogue, which turns the normal app into the alpha. I'm on a Galaxy S8, and I tried using the dual messenger feature and the other account isn't being force-updated. I opted out of the beta a while ago, which has let me use the normal app until now. How do I stop it from forcing me to update to the alpha? [link] [comments]
My messages appear twice in a group chat Posted: 25 Feb 2019 06:57 PM PST I am in a group chat with two other people. They use iOS and I have an Android phone on Oreo. Whenever I send a message it shows up like this: https://imgur.com/a/cQL3b7Z This is on the default Messaging app for Android. I tried switching to Messenger and Textra, but the problem persists. It only appears on my end but not my friend's. How do I stop seeing duplicates of my messages? [link] [comments]
Where are you supposed to mark individual reminders as done? Posted: 25 Feb 2019 12:13 PM PST It's no secret that Google's reminders are an absolute mess. Right now if you have more than one reminder, the notifications are merged, and you can't mark them as done individually. The reminders section of the Google/Assistant app doesn't seem to show today's instance of a recurring reminder. The only place I know of that actually shows all of my current reminders is Inbox, which Google is going to kill soon. So after that, where am I supposed to go to deal with my reminders? Posted: 25 Feb 2019 10:40 PM PST On my old note 4 I had the option to shrink the size of the keys on the keyboard. This was great, because my fatter fingers were always catching the edge of the neighboring keys while typing. I'm now on an lgv20 using swiftkey, and don't see that option. I've tried online searching for an answer but all I get is a million results for adjusting the overall size of the keyboard, not the individual keys themselves. Does anyone know of a keyboard for andoird that allows this level of customization? I really miss that extra dead space between keys. Swiftkey's awesome autocorrection is helping me get by (way, way bettr than stock keyboard autocorrection), but I'd rather just be more accurate to begin with. Thanks in advance! Issues with multiple Bluetooth connections on Pixel 2XL, Android 9/Pie Posted: 25 Feb 2019 11:15 AM PST So I recently JUST updated my phone to 9.0 from 8.1 (combination of having to go through all the root steps as I'm unlocked/rooted, and not liking change very much) and the new feature of handling multiple Bluetooth connections on Pie is giving me some issues: I use my bluetooth earbuds walking from my office to the car, and because it does calling too, I leave it on with my music when I'm in the car. It also just makes it easier when getting in and out of the car, walking through the store, etc. And it worked great on Oreo because my phone just wouldn't connect to the bluetooth adapter I have in my car. But now, when I start my car the adapter in there takes over the bluetooth connection and takes over the music. And it doesn't switch back to the earbud when turning off the car (both devices remain connected while I'm in the car/it's on). Is there a way to basically set a bluetooth priority order so that if my earbuds are already connected it doesn't connect to the car? I don't want to disable or forget my car connection because I still use it regularly when I don't need my earbuds but having it take over the connection isn't great. [link] [comments]

Posted: 25 Feb 2019 08:46 AM PST So I don't know if it is just me but I am having issues with android auto. I have a Galaxy S9 unlocked and I have ATT, and I recently got the update for One UI. I've gotten used to most of it except for one issue. When I use Android Auto, and when my screen is on sleep, Google Maps tells me on my car screen that Google Maps needs me to update my location settings and to check the notification on my screen. Well I click on the notification while my phone is still plugged into the car and it states that it cannot open Maps while running Android Auto on the car. Okay, that's fine. So I unplug the phone and try to click on the link again. Well now its just acting like its pulling up an app but just goes to my home screen. Now this issue only arises when my phone screen is off. When I turn the screen on or when I unlock my phone, Google Maps works perfectly. I've sent feedback but maybe if one of you guys knows an answer this issues that would be fantastic. Google app does not sign in to YouTube account; shows ads even though I have premium Posted: 25 Feb 2019 06:14 PM PST Hello. I'll keep this short and sweet. Been looking for a solution to this for a while because it bugs me; can't seem to find anyone else with my exact issue anywhere. I pay for YouTube Premium/Google Music. So I don't get YouTube ads when signed into my account. This is true on PC, using the YouTube app on Android, etc. However, in the Google app on my phone, the news feed sometimes includes links to YouTube videos. However, instead of launching them in the YouTube app, it launches them in the app-embedded browser, which does NOT sign into my YouTube account, and thus shows ads. This is annoying for a variety of reasons, not least of which being that I pay to specifically not have this happen. My Google and YouTube accounts are linked, so I don't see why this should be happening if the Google account uses that same login, and it does. Does anyone know how to either: - Get the Google app to sign into my YouTube account for these purposes OR - Get the Google app to launch YouTube links in the actual YouTube app instead of the embedded browser? Thanks! [link] [comments]
Phone Crashing Upon Opening App Posted: 25 Feb 2019 06:13 PM PST I have recently switched from iphone to a Google Pixel. The problem has reoccurred several times now where I would open a a certain game app (safe) and it would crash immediately. I am unsure if this is related but when this occurs youtube videos also fail to play despite showing that they're loaded. After a few hours the apps would suddenly start working again. This cycle has repeated for over 4 days. Other apps that I use appear to work while these problems occur. I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling. Checking updates for my phone and for the apps. Restarting my phone. Clearing my cache and checking the date and time. None of these worked and I am wondering what steps I should take next. [link] [comments]
Posted: 25 Feb 2019 12:00 PM PST Hi, So countless times now I'm upstairs on my phone watching YouTube and my parents are downstairs on the TV. I knock the "cast to tv" button and rather than asking if I'm sure or to which tv, it just starts streaming to the TV with no way to turn it off. Going to the notification tray and pressing "cancel" before the stream initiates actually just hides it from my phone but keeps playing on the TV. I would like to STOP screen mirroring all together. However, countless googling and all I get is help on how to turn it on, which in my experience is extremely easy. Does anyone know how to turn this damn feature off entirely? I don't want it. Thanks EDIT: apologies, my phone is a Samsung galaxy s8 on the latest update [link] [comments]

Guessing your own pattern lock? Posted: 25 Feb 2019 08:55 PM PST Hi everyone. I got locked out my Redmi 4a a few hours ago and have tried everything since. Now that nothing works, I guess I can only now guess. I think I remember the first 4 or 5 connected dots. Is there any app or software or website which could help me guess the rest of the dots? Thank you. (Also if this is not a relevant sub could you direct me to a more appropriate one? ) Thanks again. [link] [comments]

Posted: 25 Feb 2019 08:17 PM PST I'm on running Android P on an S9+. Youtube version 14.07.59. If a video is playing and you press home or back button, the video will just minimize to the bottom right corner. Is this supposed to be normal behavior or is this a bug? It's driving me absolutely crazy. [link] [comments]
Why does it seem like every android music streaming app deletes your offline music? Posted: 25 Feb 2019 08:15 PM PST Why is this such a growing trend in all the apps? I been subscribing and unsubscribing to so many of them, they all do it. Does anyone know a music streaming app that includes offline downloads where they do not delete your songs? Is this just too much to ask for? If you search through google, reddit.. everything... there is so much information on it. Is there anyone out there currently using some kind of music offline download service where your music just doesn't delete? [link] [comments]
Virgin Mobile on a Verizon Turbo Droid? Posted: 25 Feb 2019 07:46 PM PST Can I switch to my brother's old Verizon Turbo Droid if Virgin Mobile is my service provider? I looked up on Motorola's site and they showed that the Moto g7 is not compatible but I'm not sure if that's the same phone. Also, I've heard some phones you can unlock something that lets you switch providers [link] [comments]
Factory reseting phone regarding Wear OS watch Posted: 25 Feb 2019 12:08 PM PST I have my Moto 360 1st gen paired with my Galaxy S6 and want to factory reset the later due to severe battery drainage and performance hiccups for unknown reasons. My question is if I factory reset, do I have to do the whole process of pairing again. I have a lot of watch faces and am really not certain what will happen. Thanks in advance! Getting virus ads in my notifications Posted: 25 Feb 2019 01:38 PM PST Hey everyone, Our phone keeps receiving random notifications like "YOU GOT HACKED TAP HERE TO PROTECT YOUR DEVICE bla bla bla" and when you tap them they redirect you to some weird websites wanting you to download an app "probably a virus". Sadly this is not my phone so I don't know what they've done exactly and I want to fix this issue without deleting any of their apps. And I just didn't know where to start, where should I look? what can send you notifications like that except your apps? Thanks in advance! [link] [comments]
Smashed screen - how to enable usb debugging mode? Posted: 25 Feb 2019 07:02 AM PST So I managed to smash the screen on my Samsung s8 - it briefly comes on for a second an then goes to a yellow screen. It's still controllable but I cannot see anything I'm doing. All I'm concerned about is getting my data off it, however, as the screen is completely yellow, I'm unable to get to the Developer options to do this. Is there any other way I can enable USB debugging mode, with not being able to see what's on the screen? I looked into screen mirroring but that needs USB debugging mode enabled so can't do that either. Thanks in advance [link] [comments]
Posted: 25 Feb 2019 01:30 PM PST Does anyone know of a good way to get better contact images? I used to use Sync.me but it looks like that will no longer connect to facebook, which is the best place to get contact images for me since so many contacts dont have the other options. Seems like contact images has never been an android strong point but this was at least a sufficient band-aid for a while. [link] [comments]
