Dropped my Samsung Galaxy S6 in water, and now I can't turn it on. Posted: 24 Feb 2019 08:27 PM PST I wiped it off and it seemed fine. Like, everything worked. Just in case, I shut it off and let it dry for a bit. Now I can't get it on. I can get to Odin mode (whatever that is) and Maintenance mode. Normal boot, safe mode, and power down all don't seem to do anything. Any and all advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advanced. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 25 Feb 2019 04:25 AM PST Hey! I am thinking of buying a 1660 Ti next month. My only issue is that I am not sure my power supply can handle it. I currently have a Chieftec GPS-600A8 600W Relevant (future) specs: - ryzen 5 1600 - gtx 1660ti, obviously - 8gb ddr4 2400mhz RAM - 2ssd, 2hdd -usual rgb gaming stuff (keyboard, mouse, mousepad, you get it) I would not like to buy a new PSU if this would be sustainable for the time being. Any help is appreciated! [link] [comments] |
Is it normal for a laptop to be slow when not plugged in. Posted: 24 Feb 2019 06:54 AM PST I tested my Laptop on user benchmark. Every time when it is not charging it shows really bad results and is therefore slow, but as soon as i plug it in the results become really good. Is this normal or is my laptop faulty. Battery is set to max performance on both battery and charging. The laptop had 85% battery when I ran the tests when it was not plugged in. Solved : It seems that this is normal as a lot of you said that the laptop goes to a different state when it is not plugged in (wasn't aware of that as it is my first laptop) . I asked the guy who bought it for me as he has a similar laptop and said that it is normal for it to be slower at more intense tasks if it is not plugged in. And yes i did make my setting so the laptop is in a "best performance" state. Thanks for your answers and advices, they are much appreciated. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 25 Feb 2019 04:30 AM PST So I just got a microphone scissor arm and I try to put it in a position but as soon as I let my grip go the arm bends back over. Any solutions? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 25 Feb 2019 03:31 AM PST Long story short, my laptop has a faulty screen cable and to fix it I had to open it up and fiddle with the cable to make it work. Normally that's all fine, however this time I forgot to turn my laptop off (pressed power button, went to sleep mode instead of off) and when I tried to reattach the screen cable it sparked and caused some damage to a component near it on the board. The laptop still functions but the screen does not. What is the component that has been fried? Is it fixable? Do I have to replace the full board? Is that expensive? Should I just get a replacement? Where? Laptop is ASUS k5o1ux Pics: [link] [comments] |
Very weak wifi signal after messing around with Vpn Posted: 25 Feb 2019 03:27 AM PST Hi r/techsupport! I have a problem with my wifi adapter for few weeks now. Ever since I tried out few of the most popular vpn sofwares, my wifi signal has been very weak, even disconnecting from my home network, whereas before it was always at 100% signal strength. Also, whenever I turn off "Allow VPN over metered networks" in control panel it turns back on immediatley. I tried resolving my issue by uninstalling"WAN Miniports" from device manager, but it worked only until the next restart. How can I fix this? [link] [comments] |

Need help with replacing my graphics card - do I have enough power? Posted: 25 Feb 2019 03:09 AM PST Hello! Cards I consider: My current power supply should be sufficient for 1660ti I think but I would like something stronger than that. I am considering changing my current powersupply too, but it will increase the overall cost obviously. My current build contains: Power supply: Seasonic S12G Series S12G-550 (80Plus Gold 550W) What would be the best option for me in your opinion? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 25 Feb 2019 02:19 AM PST Hi! I've set my scaling to 150%, for a better view, since it's quite needed in my case. But when I launch my program "Pro Tools," it all seems to be working, however, when getting to browse my projects, the scaling returns to the recommended. It's only Pro Tools where the issue is, the rest of Windows is still set at the chosen scaling Is there anyone who can help me? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 25 Feb 2019 02:16 AM PST First of all, I don't know if it's actually my GPUs issue, but I already revived it once by putting it in the oven 4 months ago (it was working fine until 5 days ago) so my thoughts went to it. Everything is working normally, I can hear sounds and the PC is working fine, but the screen blacks out, I hear the error sound and the game probably crashes, and MSi afterburner that I have running on my G15 keyboard losses all readings from the GPU. Untill then the readings are normal, 65° C, 99-100% usage, vram usage normal, everything as expected. It happens only after 5 minutes on For Honor. GTA V, Project Wingman and 3D Mark Firestrike and stress test run fine. I really have no idea if it's actually a GPU issue or something else. I tried reinstalling drivers. I stress tested it with 3D Mark for more than 2 hours and no issue, but after 5 minute in for honor boom, black out. Any guesses? I didn't update any drivers or install any new programs between the time everything was working normally and the time this started. I really have formed a relationship with this card, so much happiness when I got it, and it kept me happy for all my school years.... Posted: 25 Feb 2019 02:05 AM PST EDIT Solved (for now) I simply plugged my laptop into second monitor and that seemed to do the trick??? Then to open Origin I disabled firewall and run it as administrator. Works now but makes me wary of using Origin again Last night I played Apex and when exiting the game my laptop froze. Had to manually shut it down, I was going to sleep anyway so I didn't bother with restarting. This morning it took 2 times to start my laptop but whatever it worked. After a while I opened Origin and it froze my laptop again forcing me to shut down. Now my laptop won't start at all. All i see is black screen and my mouse button, which I am able to move around. I'm on my 20th restart i think What do reddit? Laptop is Dell Inspiron 15 7000 series [link] [comments] |
Access denied message becoming common when accessing certain websites. Posted: 24 Feb 2019 06:17 PM PST So I'm running the latest Windows Insider build - bad idea - and I sometimes switch between Firefox and Chrome, both up to date. In the past 2 days, I've been getting random access denied messages, with Uniqlo and Barney's New York. For both times it's been happening when I go on the main page and click into one of the items there. For Uniqlo it was a shirt, and for Barney's it was a pair of shoes. I'm not using a VPN when I access the websites and it happens on both browsers. And when I try to go back to the main page after trying to access the page for the item doesn't work, I get the same issue. It's a serious pain in the dick. Access DeniedYou don't have permission to access "http://www.barneys.com/designer/comme-des-gar%C3%A7ons-play/N-14s5iuo" on this server. Reference #18.4e0bccc0.1551060687.4dc42fe If this helps, here's the error I get when I try to access a page. [link] [comments] |
Monitor has power but doesn't display anything. Posted: 25 Feb 2019 01:40 AM PST I turned on my pc and my monitor turned on for a couple of seconds but then made a loud hissing loud pitched sound and then the screen turned black. I suspected the capacitors were bad but they both look good, no bulging or residue. And like I said, I doubt it is the power supply since the red sleeping light turns on. Any thoughts? Laptop's HDMI does not work... sometimes Posted: 25 Feb 2019 01:33 AM PST Hi! I have a laptop: HP Spectre x360 - 13-4190nz with two external monitors (mini display port and hdmi) I'm using it at work, but I bring him home at least twice a week. I got it two years ago and never had a problem with it. Today is the third time I got this problem in 2 (maybe 3) months: I went to work with the laptop, plugged the cables and here the problem, the HDMI monitor is not recognized. I tried to switch monitors, switch cables.. nothing worked. The first time I had the problem, I used to had a dual boot Win/Linux and both didn't recognized the monitor, which make me guess it's an hardware problem. After few hours, I reboot, re-plug and it works again. I suspect static electricity (I'm always charged when I arrive at work), maybe the cold (I would really doubt it, but I use public transports). Or the worst case; hardware failure. I would like to use the HP guarantee, but I really need it to work and don't have a backup solution ATM. Plus, I'm not sure they will do anything since it's so random that I won't be able to prove it. Does anybody already experienced this? [link] [comments] |
iPECS Ericsson/LG LIP-9030 phone system - transfer a call while the phone is ringing? Posted: 25 Feb 2019 05:01 AM PST I have the problem at work, that if the phone is ringing while I'm on a call that I need to transfer to a different department, the phone will pick up the new incoming call instead of transferring the call to the person and put the person I need to transfer on hold. Is there a way to just transfer the call without picking up the incoming call? (no one at work has any clue how to do it!) [link] [comments] |
Computer is a subfolder of Desktop Posted: 25 Feb 2019 04:55 AM PST Hi, my "Computer" folder in win 7 is now a subfolder of Desktop for some reason. I couldn't really track the moment this happened, but it's possible that this is due to extensive registry tweaks i've done, which included both following instructions for known tweaks that are listed on the internet and just experimenting on my part (i didn't just randomly delete or create folders, it was sensible stuff). Here is a screen shot:https://imgur.com/a/ZHp3IXA [link] [comments] |
Nvidia drivers updated but still says it's not up to date Posted: 25 Feb 2019 04:51 AM PST So I have a GeForce GTX 1050 TI, Windows 10. I downloaded the Forza Horizon 4 demo, but the game didn't run, instead a picture of the game cover appeared. The Windows support consultant told me to update my drivers. I did, through the GeForce experience app, but the game still doesn't run (I reinstalled it). The Can You Run It website also tells me that my drivers are not up to date. What do I do to get these drivers up to date? [link] [comments] |
Random window flash tabs me out of games, interrupts video playback Posted: 25 Feb 2019 04:50 AM PST Hi all, Got a bit of an issue where every hour or so a small window will flash. Looks like a steam window or Nvidia window (can tell its not cmd from the nanosecond it flashes for). It will tab me out of most games or cause a small video freeze and audio blip. I've heard people have had this issue with office365, so I uninstalled that but still getting the issue. Tried running /scannow in admin-cmd but got the error "Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation." at 26%. Also tried things like Program Lasso to catch what it is, but when it happens, nothing shows up on there. Nothing in Task Scheduler either. At my wits end here, guys and gals. Any ideas? Saving a Word Document on my Mac Invariably Causes the Window to Become Smaller Posted: 25 Feb 2019 04:41 AM PST Wondering if anyone has a suggestion for this. I tried re-installing Word, and re-starting the document (i.e. copying and pasting the whole text into a new document). Sometimes clicking in the new black boxes created causes it to return, but the problem can always be fixed my minimizing the Word window and re-maximizing it to full screen. For reference, I'm running Word 16.23 (190223), fully licensed through my school. My Mac is a 2017 12" Macbook on Mojave (10.14.3). This problem has been on going about a week. [link] [comments] |

I can't afford a new one and I won't soon either. Is there any way I can fix this? The phone is an ZTE V6 [link] [comments] |
What is causing my blue screen errors? Posted: 24 Feb 2019 07:54 PM PST I built my new gaming PC 7 months ago and in 2019 I have had numerous crashes. Every few hours after I start my PC I would get a blue screen. Either when I play a game or browse the web. I would get a blue screen. Here are the errors I have encountered: System Service Exception Win32kbase.sys Security Check Failure IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL Kernel Security Check Failure KMode Exception not Handled Unexpected Store Exception Memory Management Page Fault In NonPage Area I tried to run a Memtest but Memtest didn't find any errors. I wonder if it is a problem with my motherboard or my ram. I hear my motherboard might cause some issues. How do I fix these errors? Here is my parts list. [link] [comments] |

Installing BIOS updates with Asrock AB350 Gaming/AC ITX Posted: 25 Feb 2019 04:23 AM PST Hello i have started an ITX build, and have read that in order to use the 2nd Gen Ryzen chips with this board, an up to date bios is needed. My question is, do i need to install the mobo updates in order of their release ? ie: first flash on 4.6, then reboot and then flash on 4.7 and so on.. till the latest update. Or can i just flash on the latest update the first time? (Sorry if this is a silly question i get nervous doing bios related updates) Cheers [link] [comments] |
