[Request] Are there any games like Constructor(1997)/Mob rule (1999) on Android? Posted: 04 Feb 2019 05:19 PM PST As above, I loved those games and remakes are popping around ps4. Is there anything like that/port for Android? [link] [comments]
If youre still on the fence about Another Eden... Posted: 04 Feb 2019 04:55 PM PST I playing it for a few hours a day for about a week. Obviously I havent progressed too far in that amount of time. The gacha/pay to win stuff has to do with acquiring characters. Thats all extra stuff though cuz the 4 characters I have now were all free and thats all you need to complete the game. The extra characters give you more "story" but arent needed. One thing thats annoying tho is at weapons/armor shop you need to have a certain amount of items collected during battle plus gold to buy the weapon. I dont play lots of these kinds of games so I wasnt used to that. Im assuming u can spend real money to get these items quicker and not have to grind for them but Im not interested in doing that. The main reason I was curious about this game was the Chrono Trigger connection but honestly if you skip this game youre not gonna miss out on a classic or anything. Its basically just a "best of the bad" type of situation where the gacha rpgs are so horrible that one thats actually ok is made to look better than it really is just cuz the others are bad. I see people raving about the graphics and music but I didnt notice anything special about them. Also, theres lots of side quests where you do catch and fetch stuff which can get boring after while. When I end up hitting the inevitable wall and arent able to get the items I need in order to progress Ill probably quit. Its not compelling enough to make me want to go through tough trails to continue. [link] [comments]
I'm a gaming professor/scholar, and my new research on mobile gaming came out today. AMA! Posted: 04 Feb 2019 07:09 AM PST My name is Sky LaRell Anderson, and I study games! See examples of my published research here: https://www.skylarell.net/p/research.html My full CV can be found here: https://www.skylarell.net/p/cv.html My newest article on how mobile gaming is all about the agency it provides to players' bodies (in both time and space) came out today in the international journal Convergence. Check it out here: https://doi.org/10.1177/1354856518807403 Here's the title and abstract: Title: Touchscreen travelers: Hands, bodies, agency, and mobile game players Abstract: Unlike traditional games that anchor players to a controller in a designated gaming space, mobile games invite haptic interfaces wherein players may touch, hold, play, move, sit, and otherwise reconfigure their bodies through various spaces and times. I call this characteristic mobile gaming's corporeal agency, and while mobile games include many limitations to player agency, the increased freedom of bodies to traverse time and space merits discussion and analysis. This study focuses on interviews conducted with mobile game players, and those interviews reveal that mobile games invite behaviors conducive to a corporeal agency that break away from traditional conceptions of gaming time and space. I argue that mobile gaming bodies demonstrate a more fluid relationship with touch, space, time, and physicality than traditional forms of gaming, allowing players to move their fingers, hands, and bodies through time and space while performing the corporeal task of gaming. The analysis consists of sections dedicated to three primary elements of mobile gaming's corporeal agency: physicality, temporality, and spatiality. I also teach university students about games, and I have won a national award for my work on gaming as an act of work. I'd be happy to answer any questions. [link] [comments]

What happened to Avabel Online? Posted: 04 Feb 2019 09:52 AM PST Thought it was one of the okay-ish MMORPGs around? Played the game again from the start and I got to level 50 within 20 minutes. Everything seems to be boosted now. Is the game still alive? On that note, which Asobimo games are still worth playing now? [link] [comments]
[DEV] My game, Quantum Contact, has been updated! Posted: 04 Feb 2019 12:11 PM PST Hi again everyone! My game features NO IAP's, no pay-to-win, no annoying ads! If you exit the app, it has a mobile-friendly autosave where you just hit continue to keep playing where you left off. It also has a "ready" button after loading some scenes so that if you're distracted you don't explode - this is great if you're playing on the bus/plane/train as it waits until you're ready to play. It has a storyline and is an offline single-player space adventure where you collect materials and then upgrade your mini-shuttle while getting updates from the Captain! Here's the trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WqaMZzwixNc&pbjreload=10 After feedback from the community here, I have made several changes including (but not limited to): Additions/Changes: Fixes: Also, the price has been reduced from $4.99 to $3.99! You can download the latest version over here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.a64s.quantumcontact Please let me know if you try the new version and what you think of the game! If you've never played before, start on explorer mode, the game is quite challenging and takes some time to learn/master the flight. [link] [comments]

[Request] Games similar to SpaceChem? Posted: 04 Feb 2019 06:46 PM PST Hi, I'm looking for something similar to SpaceChem. I'm currently playing it on my Note 9 but it isn't really optimized for smaller screens. I've done a lot of searching but still haven't found anything that scratches the itch. The aspects I enjoy the most are -engineering -logic -programming (visual) -sandbox/multiple solutions -depth Is there any thing out there that ticks most of those boxes? Thanks! Posted: 04 Feb 2019 10:11 AM PST Looking for a strategy game that u can play about 30 minutes each. Not looking for a game that you have to be actively watching etc. Kinda with a slow pace. Games like: Turn based - fire emblem Card games - slay the spire Prefer vertical (mobile phone) playable. [link] [comments]

Posted: 04 Feb 2019 08:27 PM PST Not BraveExvius please. Not playing that. I will admit it is where I got the idea to try it elsewhere. I'm just interesting to find an interesting game I can setup some macros for. Not looking to cheat online but if you know of something that is online, that might be interesting to play around with, please mention it. Thank you [link] [comments]
[REQUEST] Best PvP/Co-Op FPS or TPS? (Not Battle Royale) Posted: 04 Feb 2019 01:47 PM PST Looking for good first or third person shooters on Android with either Co-Op PvE elements or online matchmaking that isn't battle royale style. I've tried Shadowgun Legends but it seems pretty crashy/buggy at the moment although I love what I've played. Is there anything more polished in this vein? Bonus points if it has the ability to team up cooperatively so my wife and I can play together. [link] [comments]
what are your thoughts about IAPs Posted: 04 Feb 2019 06:18 PM PST Personally I support iap, ONLY if the said app makes it possible to earn everything even if you have to grind impossibly hard to get it. For example- if supercell made it so you had to pay real money for the king and queen hero, this would be terrible. Yet I see many examples like this in the majority of games I've tried to get into and see an iap like that and it wasn't possible to earn it through endless grinding. Yes if you wanted to speed up your gameplay by buying gems, gold, crystals whatever by all means go for it I support that but adding something that would be impossible to earn is just down right despicable and to me it shows how much you really care about your community and your game. this is my thoughts on this and I'd love to here from anyone else, just as a friendly discussion to hopefully shed more light on iaps in games this coming year. Posted: 04 Feb 2019 04:00 PM PST I've played Dragon Ball Dokkan Battle for 2 years now and I like it a lot, I know there's a huge list of gacha games out there but the 5 or 6 I've tried just aren't the same as Dokkan, they either feel really bland or way too complex for how I like to play (Have the game on while playing on my computer and just kinda touching the screen every now and then) So, I'd enjoy recommendations of Gacha games and Shooter games.
