Win10 kmode exception not handled when running chrome Posted: 31 Jan 2019 01:38 PM PST Whenever I try to open chrome it opens a window that's all white and nothing happends. A lot of the time it will crash my laptop and give me the kmode exception not handlet error, but won't tell me more. From googling around it seems it's a driver issue but how do I find out which driver it is? The crash screen does not say. I tried turning off fast-startup in the power settings (though I have not done that after the system restore). I have done a system restore, removing programs and files and then tried to download Chrome. Other browsers do not seem to crash it (IE, Firefox) I get notifications to "search for unit error" (translation) and clicking it restarts the pc and searches drive C for errors. Then when I log in again I get the same notification. EDIT: Running sfc /scannow resulted in "KERNEL DATA INPAGE ERROR" EDIT: Currently running a chkdsk. It staye don 15% for a long time and rebooted and is starting from 0% again. submitted by /u/BrotherhoodOfThe5 [link] [comments] |
New PC. Often BSOD with different message every time. Posted: 31 Jan 2019 02:09 PM PST Hi, I recently bought new PC but for some weird reason from time to time random blue screen will pop up (once while I was playing video game, once while using browser and today even on pc startup just after previous one). I think one of my hardware components is damaged but I have no idea how to determine which one. Here are 2 recent mini dumps: Crash Dump Analysis provided by OSR Open Systems Resources, Inc. Do Google account saved passwords carry over to other devices? Posted: 30 Jan 2019 08:49 PM PST This probably isn't the place to be posting this but I need help. A r/techsupport mod locked my post saying it wasn't tech support related. Sorry in advance if this a long post. A couple of years ago I broke my phone and my girlfriend was nice enough to lend me her Ipad so I'd have something to use before my phone was replaced. I sign into my Google account onto the Ipad and used the tumblr app. I don't remember saving my password. A few months later, I now have a phone again and the Ipad is returned. One day, I'm scrolling through tumblr and whilst using the app, I'm signed out. It turns out my account was deleted. It's strange since I have no strikes against me. I immediately assume that my girlfriend has something to do with it. My girlfriend is very manipulative and has to have everything her way. She hated the fact that I had tumblr because she was jealous of the women I liked/reposted. I was very upset, not just because I couldn't believe she would do something like this, but because I lost a lot of unsaved work, specifically my poetry, which was really important to me. Long story short, I confront her without enough evidence, she denies it, we continue the relationship. Fastfoward to the present. I happen to be going through my Google account security settings and I see that her Ipad was logged into my account just a few days ago. So is this evidence? Could my tumblr password be saved through my Google account giving her the access she needed to delete my account? submitted by /u/like_doesitmatter [link] [comments] |
SSD freezing windows Posted: 31 Jan 2019 07:05 AM PST I've got an old HP envy and decided to replace the mechanical drive with an SSD. The SSD took forever to install windows and after startup it locks up constantly with disk usage at 100%. Tried 2 different 6gb sata ports and 2 different cables. Reinstalled windows on the mechanical and it works fine. Did a hard drive test on the SSD and no errors. Updated its firmware also. I'm at a loss. submitted by /u/dneals [link] [comments] |
