What does rooting break on Samsung phones? Posted: 31 Jan 2019 06:08 AM PST Some background. I've practically tried all mainstream Android OEMs except Samsung. S10 seems too good to pass up on. I'm in Singapore so I'll probably get the Exynos version locally. How does root affect the phone. I've heard Samsung Pay is disabled along with Knox. What is Knox exactly? It's a secure folder kinda app? Do the cameras work fine? I know rooting breaks the special post processing on some Sony phones. [link] [comments]

Is there any way to revert back to Android 8.0 withour resetting? Posted: 31 Jan 2019 07:21 AM PST I got the android 9.0 beta on my Note 8 and I'm finding it rubbish. Can I get back to android 8.0 without resetting the device? [link] [comments]
Posted: 31 Jan 2019 06:57 AM PST So i just started at a small tech company and the guy that had my phone before me had his personal google account setup with FRP enabled. AFAIK the phone is fully updated and I was wondering if there is any way to bypass this. If it can be done, great. If not they'll just get me a new phone. [link] [comments]
One UI and Pie update confusion on Galaxy s9+ (Verizon). Posted: 31 Jan 2019 05:55 AM PST So I have Verizon and I have just checked for an update and it said I had a new one ready to install. It doesn't give me any information about the update other than "System Update 9" and the shield image with a wrench and cogs saying "Security Update & Improvements". Is this One UI and Pie? The real reason I am asking this is because I see people posting these big things saying what the update includes like for example this post. I don't see this big explanation telling me what is in the update. I just get a tiny bit of info about it but nothing telling me about one UI or anything. Is this happening with anyone else with Verizon where you only get a tiny explanation instead of the big one in my example? Is there a way I can see the update explanation page? Safe disposal of Note Edge 915T Posted: 31 Jan 2019 08:41 AM PST My beloved Note Edge suddenly died (won't boot). It is in excellent physical condition and would be a shame to throw it away. I would love to donate or sell it but how do I ensure the private data on it is inaccessible? (I'm afraid some expert hacker could resurrect it and access the data.) [link] [comments]
Randomly asks to unlock with password instead of biometrics Posted: 31 Jan 2019 08:35 AM PST Hi all, Sorry if this has been posted already, couldn't find it. My samsungS9+ keeps randomly asking me to unlock my phone with a password instead of my fingerprint or face recognition. Now I could live with this if it didnt also ask me to change my password every 3 months or so. I really try to write down somewhere what the hell password I've thought up now but it often comes at very inconvenient times (when traveling etc.). Today I seriously panicked because I almost fully locked out my phone but luckily tried the right password near the end. I can't seem to turn this off and it's really getting on my nerves because I should be able to make my own personal phone as safe/unsafe as I want. Does anyone know if it's possible to turn this off? Posted: 31 Jan 2019 08:03 AM PST Why are carrier updates going out and my unlocked s9+ still has not been updated? This is ridiculous. [link] [comments]
Galaxy S9 Wireless charging issue. Posted: 31 Jan 2019 04:13 AM PST I hope it's okay to post this here, I look at other subreddits that deal specifically with tech issues, but they looked pretty dead. My wireless charger for my Galaxy S9 is driving me nuts. I bought a Nanami wireless charger from amazon. It had decent reviews and it was pretty cheap. But it's constantly turning off and I don't know what to do. I put my phone on it, it'll start to charge and a minute or two later, it's flashing blue and it stops charging. Other times I place it on the charger and it works fine. It's at a rate of about 50%. But it's getting frustrating. Sometimes I put it on the charger, it immediately flashes, I take it off, wait a second, put it on, it flashes and doesn't charge; sometimes I have to try like 3 or 4 times. Can anyone help? I've been googling this for a while but all anyone recommends is unplug the charger and plug it in again (which I've done). I guess my question is, is my wireless charger just bad? Should I have gotten a better one? Or am I just dumb and I don't understand how it works? Do I need to do something specific when I put it on the charger? [link] [comments]
Posted: 31 Jan 2019 06:57 AM PST I lost my charging case but still have the earphones. If I buy a replacement case from someone online or in real life would the headphones still work or would they not be able to connect with a new case? [link] [comments]

Any way to manually update S8+? Posted: 31 Jan 2019 06:44 AM PST I see all this talk already about One UI but I'm still stuck on Samsung Experience 9.0 and was wondering if I could somehow manually update to SE 9.5? I've been checking for available updates on my phone for the past few months already but nothing's ever popped up. [link] [comments]
Posted: 31 Jan 2019 06:30 AM PST Looks that way from some of the leaks, hope so anyway because it's nice on the iPhone X I'd love a black stainless steel model [link] [comments]
After updating my S9+ my always on display isn't working Posted: 31 Jan 2019 06:25 AM PST Title I suppose. Updated my phone yesterday to the newest android version, and everything is working fantastically. However, I can't seem to get my always on display to work. It's on in the settings, I've turned it off and on but still nothing. Am I being thick here, or has anyone else had this? Thanks in advance :) [link] [comments] |
