How to remove the warning for maximum volume Posted: 30 Jan 2019 05:14 PM PST That pesky warning when turning the volume up always gets to me. How can I remove it? Thank you [link] [comments] |
Posted: 30 Jan 2019 03:34 PM PST I'm wondering if anyone can help me figure out what happened to my phone. It's a OnePlus 6T. It started arbitrarily a week ago. No new app downloads and when one pops up it doesn't show up on the app tray. I've had them pop up on Chrome, Gmail, Twitter and a game. I've checked settings and "display over other apps" is turned off on most apps. Here's what it looks like if it gives any clues. What should I do? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 30 Jan 2019 01:54 PM PST How can I hide my status bar when apps are open? Ideally I would like to keep the status bar visible only at the homescreen . I have an OnePlus6 updated on Pie. [link] [comments] |
Tried going back to Firefox but it forces me to do a capcha everytime I open it. Anyone else? Posted: 30 Jan 2019 02:34 PM PST Between that and the annoying "heavy search traffic at this moment" message I am absolutely done with Firefox after just two short days. I shouldn't have to fight with the app when I just want to use it. [link] [comments] |
Some apps does not detect internet when connected to Wi-Fi. Posted: 30 Jan 2019 04:59 PM PST I've been wondering what could be the possible reason for some of my apps not to detect internet when I'm connected to my home Wi-Fi. Like Instagram, Reddit and other apps does not refresh feeds when I'm connected to a Wi-Fi. But certain apps like Discord, and some others actually responds to the internet very well. What is causing this to happen? And how can I resolve myself from this situation? Because this keeps happening really often. Please help. Posted: 30 Jan 2019 08:19 AM PST My headphones have been acting up lately, and the button for playing, pausing, skipping, and opening Google assistant has just been firing off like crazy. I can't listen to any of my music. Is there a way to disable the button control from headphones? [link] [comments] |
Google messaging app not receiving large messages Posted: 30 Jan 2019 04:17 PM PST I'm using a Moto Z2 and I've been messaging with the blue messaging app from Google and when ever someone sends me a large text message it doesn't get threw and I never get any messages that are really long anyone know what to do? Posted: 30 Jan 2019 10:07 PM PST I am on Miui. When I try to kill apps like 'Security', it gives a toast : "Can't close security because it is required by the system". I want to know how they do that. Is it possible to make any app un-killable? [link] [comments] |
Is there a way to change default save folders for apps? Posted: 30 Jan 2019 09:59 PM PST It's a bit annoying when Reddit saves downloads to one folder, Facebook to another, Twitter, Instagram, etc. Also exporting any edited photos, every app has their own folder. Going through my photo gallery drives me crazy because there are so many subfolders of things that I would prefer grouped together. I wish I could set just one folder for downloaded photos, one for edited photos, etc. Is there any way at all do do this? I know I can move photos between albums to make it look nicer but that's honestly a chore, it would be easier if they just all saved in one place to begin with. I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S9 with whatever their version of Oreo is. Thanks [link] [comments] |
Removing the back button next to the 'Pill' on the homescreen in android Pie Posted: 30 Jan 2019 09:58 PM PST So I'm using the Asus ZenFone 5Z and running the Nova Launcher. I have Gesture Navigation enabled which is basically the Pixel Navigation bar with the Pill in the center. The problem is that when I'm on my homescreen, the back button next to the home button (pill) is still showing. Whereas it should disappear when I'm on the homescreen right? Sorry for my OCD haha. Any way to fix this or somehow hide the back button? Cause when I'm on the Default Asus Launcher the back button doesn't show up on my homescreen. So it looks all clean. Just want the same to happen with Nova Launcher. Any help would be appreciated :) I'm rooted too so if there's a way through that I would love to know too. Thanks in Advance! [link] [comments] |

Unintentional System App Uninstall Posted: 30 Jan 2019 09:38 PM PST I was going through and removing some pre-installed bloatware from my phone (Samsung S9 on Pie), and I accidentally removed the "user dictionary" app. From what I can tell, this is used for customised recommendations, like AutoCorrect. I'm using SwiftKey for my keyboard, and as far as I can tell, it uses its own system, so I still get my user-based suggestions. Do I need this userdictionary app, and if so, is there a way to re-install it without root or a factory reset? [link] [comments] |
iPhone XS user thinking about a switch to something else... Posted: 30 Jan 2019 10:11 AM PST I'm thinking about switching from iPhone to Android (have done so a couple of times a few years back) and need only two questions answered regarding today's Android phone options:
I don't have the money to keep my current phone/watch combination and simply buy into the non-Apple version (unless I'm okay with the restocking fee and can make my decision within Best Buy's typical 14 day return policy). I really appreciate the feedback! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 30 Jan 2019 03:28 PM PST Whenever i try to switch to pro mode to manually change the ISO, WB, etc. The pop up window where i should be able to choose the settings doesnt appear, all i have is the pro mode marker with an x to close it. Same issue with the night mode [link] [comments] |
Posted: 30 Jan 2019 03:10 PM PST Hi there, TL;DR: See title; Rebuilt phone from parts, all works perfect but google FRP doesn't unlock even after 80 hours, what can I do? RANT: So I've had various Nexus 6 phone for years, and I loved them. Some had the display broken after a fall (I bought another nexus 6), and my latest one got fried because (apparently) a faulty USB cable shorted it out. So I had 4 half broken nexus phones lying around and decided not to have to buy a new one. I took a working motherboard, put it together with a working display, et voila! I had a working nexus 6 again, yay! I boot the phone and get the encryption page. Now the thing is, I have switched passwords a couple of times, so I did not directly recall the password for this MoBo, and decided a factory reset would be easier. This is where the "fun" starts. After the factor reset, I get the setup screen, I login, and get 2 step authentication by SMS and then I get just for a fraction of a second some vague message about the password of my account having been updated within the last 24 hours. This is not true, and so kind of confusing. Quite a bit of searching lead me to a page that said I had to wait 24 hours because of some google lockout. So I do that.. around 23 hours later I try again just to see, same issue.. I wait another 2 hours.. Same issue.. I search again, and now I see that google will reset that clock every time I retry.. I'm getting pissed off, but hey, let's wait 26 hours this time to be sure. 26 hours later, I try again, same crap. I continue searching and now find pages talking that this is called FRP and it takes 72 hours to time out. Getting seriously tired of the google bullshit, but okay, let's wait 80+ hours juuuust to be sure. over 80 hours later I try again, and I'm *still* blocked. Meanwhile, my work phone is some nameless 6 year old thingie that barely can run whatsapp and I'm still stuck with a bricked phone because google FRP just doesn't work right. This sounds pretty familiar to me as literally every google service I have worked with (I've worked with most) beyond google search have failed in the past year. Youtube? sends me thousands of cookies until the page 400's and I gotta drop all my youtube cookies and login again. Hangouts? I cannot send messages from my account anymore, only receive. Gmail? Takes 3+minutes to open an email after I've clicked on it. Drive? Upload errors after upload errors, I can't use it. FRP? Doesn't unlock, even after 80 hours! So now I have the option to buy another phone (I'll probably still stick with the Nexus 6, it's a bit older but I seriously love it, I want a phone with vanilla android and I don't have the money for phones like Pixel) but I don't want to because I already have a perfectly working phone right here. The only problem is that "We got a little incompetent this year" google doesn't allow me to use it anymore which is just ridiculous. So with this in mind, what can I do? I've already tried other motherboards, that is not an option either. Two of them appear dead, the other one is locked by my own carrier for some reason (I need to type some carrier liberation code). So can somebody please please tell me what I can do to just be able to get in to my OWN phone again? Thanks! [link] [comments] |
Help with camera on xperia xa1 ultra Posted: 30 Jan 2019 09:06 PM PST I have an issue and very annoying, whenever when I try to open the camera it doesn't open it, it says failed operation and when I try to use it on WhatsApp it says that it stopped, now here is when it gets weird, if I try to use the camera in Instagram or Facebook it totally works. my tablets battery alternates every 1 percent from lowering exceptionally fast and lowering normal Posted: 30 Jan 2019 09:03 PM PST idk how to really explain, but lets say its at 75%. It'll die down to 74% at a regular rate, and then down to 73% at a VERY fast rate, maybe only lasting a minute or two. Then down to 72% at a regular rate again, and back and forth. The only app changes I've made is installing youtube vanced and microG, but I ended up uninstalling both because they drained my battery much faster than regular youtube. I've also installed Dimly which is the only thing I think may be causing the issue because I haven't made any other changes. However I hesitate to uninstall because I like Dimly and haven't seen anyone else with this issue, so could someone give me some opinions? Its a zenpad z10 running nougat. edit: uninstalled dimly, but the issue persists [link] [comments] |

My Android v 7.0 isn't allowing me to move apps to SD card or format as internal. Posted: 30 Jan 2019 08:11 PM PST I have an LG Stylo 3, Android v 7.0 (which I believe is Nougat). I'm on Boost Mobile. The overwhelming majority of my apps do not have the option to move to SD card. Including app I downloaded like Tinder. When searching online, I saw that you have the option to format your SD card as internal memory, but it's not showing on my phone. I'm really bummed because I only have a gig of space left and my new 64gb SD card is going to be pretty useless unless I figure this out. [link] [comments] |
Galaxy Tab S4 Hidden System UI Dark Mode Posted: 30 Jan 2019 10:27 AM PST So I was setting up my Tab S4 and I was enabling a custom overlay using ADB and when I brought up the list this showed up: https://i.imgur.com/6jjfyfh.png com.android.systemui.theme.dark I've read about the Pixels having this but it would not work and was wondering if it would work on Samsung Experience Android 8.1. Did anyone try this? [link] [comments] |
Galaxy S9 Pie Update. Lock screen image randomly appears blurred out? Mine keeps doing that intermittently. [link] [comments] |
4G/LTE constantly switching to 3G then back to 4G Posted: 30 Jan 2019 07:56 PM PST Recently my Moto X (1st gen) has been switching from 4G/LTE to 3G (where it stays most of the time). Until recently, I had a consistent 4G signal in the same area. When I switch to airplane mode, it goes to 4G initially about one minute, then back to 3G. There are days it will be on 4G at least a few hours. It's proven to be a battery drain, I've tried everything from toggle global to CDMA, remove sim card, and finally ordered a new sim card from Verizon. It's still doing this. I know it's an older phone so could be hardware, but it hasn't done this before. Are there additional settings worth looking into? [link] [comments] |
Elderly friend ripped off. (UK) Posted: 30 Jan 2019 05:31 AM PST I have just discovered that an elderly friend of mine bought a used mobile phone from a local shop about three months ago. He sought no advice from anyone first and knows jack about technology. He was sold a Samsung Note 5 for £300 and was lead to believe he had a bargain(!) He called me this week to look at it as he was getting odd popups in chinese and the battery had begun to lose charge very quickly. I have had Android phones for years but the layout was a bit odd, e.g. I couldn't find certain things and other functions (deleting one of his three empty home screens) just didn't work at all. When I look to see what version it's running, it says 5.0.0. When I try to update I got some message about it running an unauthorised OS so no update is possible. Looking at Wikipedia, the Note 5 shipped with 5.1.1 back in 2015 and should now be on at least 7.0. I told my friend not to use the phone to buy anything (which he hadn't done anyway) and that I would accompany him back to the shop next week. Any advice, people? [link] [comments] |
How to auto-expand notifications? Posted: 30 Jan 2019 07:49 PM PST I'm on a Samsung Galaxy S9 (Android Oreo using Nova Launcher) and all my tweet notifications seem to come in as default collapsed. Therefore to read them, it takes two clicks instead of one for each notification. Is there a way to get by this? Thanks Screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/3Zwelmu.jpg [link] [comments] |
