Posted: 30 Jan 2019 09:25 AM PST Hello guys. I'm the owner of a samsung galaxy s7 and an a5 2017 at the moment and wanted to jump and upgrade. I've been looking at pocophone, mi8, and note 7 pro. The camera should be the most important thing I believe, but I just can't tell if they are better than S7 one actually and if it's worth the upgrade. Also I have read that the mi 8 camera should be better than the poco's one but in reality the poco's one takes better pictures and that it has a better gcam support, etc To sum it up, which one would you recomend to upgrade from an S7 and from an A5 2017? I don't have problems with rooting and installing gcam if needed, if that helps. Thanks! I also accept non xiaomi devices on that price range. (Less than 400 usd) [link] [comments]

Posted: 30 Jan 2019 09:49 AM PST • As we all know, MIUI does not have any "Display Size" settings, which is a problem because MIUI's default DPI is way too low for big screen phones such as Redmi Note 5 Pro, Poco Phone, etc & everything appears way too big. It also means less content appears on your screen by default. • Normally, you'd require root or ADB tools to reduce display size in MIUI, but there's a simple solution. • Just follow 3 Simple Steps:- 1) Unlock Dev Options (About phone - tap MIUI version 7 times) 2) Go to Additional settings - Developer Options - scroll down to "Drawing" - Tap on "smallest width" (default must be 392 or something) - Enter "430" & tap on OK. 3) Reboot. • Only con is that themes app UI is a bit wonky, nothing else. • You can view the difference below here: http://imgur.com/gallery/KgZiGKI [link] [comments]

Xiaomi MI A2 Image quality problem Posted: 30 Jan 2019 09:12 PM PST Hi guys, i've been noticing that most of the images (if not all) Look kinda low res on my phone, i don't know what's happening... The first time i noticed this was on twitter when most of the posts that had thumbnail looked kinda pixelated, i really don't know what to do. (Btw i'm not talking about the camera, most of the post i've seen are about the camera which i don't have any issues with) I would appreciate some help, thanks! :D [link] [comments]
Is there a way to disable or hide system apps? Posted: 30 Jan 2019 12:10 PM PST Just received this morning my Mi Mix 3 Global. It's a great phone, but I want to remove or hide a few system apps, is there a way? I would like to get rid of almost all Mi apps, like Messenger, Browser, Calendar. Right now I can't even remove them from the screen. Thanks for all your input [link] [comments]
Posted: 30 Jan 2019 02:36 PM PST Just bought a nice a2 lite and when I went to update it I physically don't have the "check for updates" button in my about phone section. Included a photo of kernel version etc. Thoughts? [link] [comments]

Posted: 30 Jan 2019 12:29 PM PST Just got the middle a2, and I was wondering if it can get worse by overcharging it (leaving the charger in after it's 100%)? [link] [comments]
Mi A2 lite screen lock during calls/wpp audios Posted: 30 Jan 2019 04:11 PM PST Hi, I got an A2 lite less than a week ago and I tried to look after at other MIUI foruns and I tried to change a few permissions configs, but none solved my problem. Everytime I make or receive a call or even playing audios at whatsApp the screen locks and goes black. I can't interact with the phone. Can't stop an audio in the middle, can't end a call, can't access a dialer during calls, nothing, just have to wait until the audio/call ends. Can't use speakers function though. Anyone got this problem, what can I do? Thanks in advance! [link] [comments]
Help please - cannot change APN in for Vodafone UK Posted: 30 Jan 2019 11:16 AM PST Hi all, I purchased the Mi 8 Global version, but have encountered the APN editing issue with Android 9 that has been posted elsewhere (default APN settings are incorrect and editing the APN is not possible). I have emailed Xiomi UK about this and they have said they are aware of the issue and that a patch will be forthcoming, but they don't know when. They have suggested in the meantime that I flash the device to the developer ROM. However, my "System update" settings does not feature a "choose update package" as per their instructions. Is anyone aware of similar experiences or is able to experience a way forward? Thanks :) [link] [comments]
The lockscreen shortcuts are way too hard to activate Posted: 30 Jan 2019 02:41 PM PST (I was debating between flairing this as an issue or discussion, but since this behavior is basically universal, I chose discussion.) ...and the way they tell you to activate them isn't even the way to activate them. When you tap on them, they bump a bit to the side, but if you try swiping THE ICONS THEMSELVES (which mind you, are the ones doing the small 'bump' movement when you tap on them), literally nothing happens, which makes absolutely no sense, because the ICONS are the ones doing the small bump, implying that you should swipe them. So how do you activate them? Well, swipe from the SIDE of the display, not the icon. Logical, right? And I haven't even gotten to the part of how ridiculously terrible this behavior is, because you have to swipe really far (if you swipe less than half of your display, the shortcut will not activate). And emphasis on the SIDE of the display, because if you start your swipe from the center, there is literally not enough space to activate the shortcut, so it simply... doesn't activate. Also, the animations are way too quick, like, there aren't any animations in MIUI that are so fast. It lacks inertia, and doesn't connect with the finger at all. I'm not sure how old the lock screen is, but I remember having the same behavior for a really long time now. Has there been at the very least a tiny mumble about updating this behavior or changing it? Either way, I hope somebody has enjoyed this multiple paragraph rant regarding MIUI's lockscreen shortcut behavior. [link] [comments]

Posted: 30 Jan 2019 01:27 PM PST I'm on 10.2.2 Stable Global for Poco F1 and I want to update to 9.1.24. Trouble connecting Philips EyeCare Desk Lamp Gen2. Posted: 30 Jan 2019 01:23 PM PST I recently purchased the Xiaomi Philips EyeCare Desk Lamp Gen2 from the Aliexpress store "AG Elec 666 Store". I explicitly asked for them to send me to send me a US plug and they sent me an euorpean plug and adapter that did not work. After splicing the connector onto a power supply I have the lamp running but I cannot get the lamp to connect! I have connected numerous Xiaomi devices in the past but this device refuses to connect via the Mi Home app. I have tried connecting via the mainland china server, US server, and European server. I have also tried using the yeelight app but it doesn't even show up there. Should I return it to the Aliexpress seller or does anyone have any idea of what I could do to make this device connect? Posted: 30 Jan 2019 08:19 AM PST Hi, The Poco has an awesome 4000 mah battery but is it durable? Can it withstand frequent charge and discharge? I know Samsung promises (not sure about the figures) 5% deterioration after 2 years. This question is for those who got the phone since early September (Release Date): Does your phone have noticeably shorter battery life? [link] [comments]
Xiaomi fix the touch on pocophone f1 pls :( Posted: 30 Jan 2019 11:58 AM PST I think that all pocophone f1 users can agree that this smartphone is amazing but the typing in this phone and the overall touch feel is horrible. Whenever i'm typing the keyboard registers other keys that i didn't press and it randomly presses the spacebar. This is very annoying specially if you're fast at typing. You constantly have to correct your sentences and words and that is frustrating. Xiaomi already said they were going to make a change but nothing happened. Please fix this soon or else people like me will eventually change to other smartphone. If you also experience the same problem please comment and if you know if there is anyway to solve this I would also appreciate if you could explain. Btw it took me so long to write this because i had to literally correct like 3-7 words per sentence. Ty and xiaomi pls fix this fast [link] [comments]

Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 Second Space - Want notfications on first space or lockscreen Posted: 30 Jan 2019 05:12 AM PST Hi there, i am using the second space feature to seperate privat from work. Now if i am on second space, i get infos that there are notifications on my first space. Not so if i am on my first space. The phone does not tell me in any way that i have notifications on the second space. Do you also have this issue? Am i missing something here? Also it seems that i don´t get lockscreen notifications from second screen. I have installed "Notification Repeater" on both spaces but it did not resolve this. [link] [comments]
