My computer is crashing on a blue screen that says - Your pc has run into a problem and needs to restart and collect some error info, and then we'll restart for you. It then says "if you call support give them this info :

stop code: SYSTEM THREAD EXCEPTION NOT HANDLED

What failed: CMUSBDAC.sys " when I looked it up some forums said that it was my audio drivers so I uninstalled and Reinstalled them all but still it crashes. I'm not so sure what else to do I have been working at this for 3 Days to no avail so I could really use some help thank you everyone!

    Posted: 01 Jan 2019 03:26 AM PST

    So good Day,

here Comes a Reddit newbie with a danm confusing Problem.

In October 2018 i got new parts which you find down Below with all allrdy exsiting parts.

    Problem i run into:

While Idle, gaming or working the pc since December put it self in Energy save mode and cut Power to Keyboard, mouse and Controller. Also i can only reset or shutdown by unplugging the PC, if i do that he boots without any Report of System failure or unclean shutdown.

    happend till today 4 times.

    - EVGA 600W 80 Bronze Power Supply

    - (SATA SSD) Kingston a400 120GB

    - KFA GTX 1070

    - 3 Silent Wing 120mm Bequit

    - pure Rock Slim 150W Bequit

    NEW:

    - (SATA SSD) Curcial MX500 500GB

    - MSI B450-A PRO

    - Ryzen 7 1800X

    - G.Skill 2x 8192MB DDR4 3000 DIMM CL 16-18-18-38

What i tried up to this point:

Checked Bios for False set Option.

    - no OC applied (since wanted to run it clean for few monhs before trying)

    - Memory set to 2999

    - fully dectivate shutdown and Energy save mode in windows

    - Choose on Energy Management Highest Performance

    - Stress tested CPU 30min GPU 30 and both together 30min and nothing happend ran as expected.

    - CPU and GPU benchmark was in Range where they should be

    - Changed Power Supply

i hope here anyone got still any idea as im really out of ideas O.o and wanna really melt it down, cause if i have to send any parts back im without a pc for 1 or 2 month which would be not so well as im on my way on Exsams.

My internet is supposed to be 300 mgps, but I consistently get less than 1 mgps. Upload speed isn't affected.

Per Google's speed test, over Wifi, ISP is Spectrum, using their modem and router. Doesn't seem to be confined to a particular time (peak usage) or circumstance.

Computer keeps freezing and then works for awhile

    Posted: 31 Dec 2018 08:58 PM PST

I've been having trouble with my computer for awhile. It will work for maybe a day or 2 and then the screen will freeze. When I turn it off and back on the blue screen that says my computer ran into an error comes up. Then my computer will freeze after only a minute or two when I restart it. After awhile it will work for another day or two before the whole cycle starts over. I already reinstalled a new version of windows and I don't know what to do. By the way my laptop is an Asus. If anyone knows what's going on I welcome the help

Laptop freezing on system restore and black screen after login

    Posted: 01 Jan 2019 03:51 AM PST

I'm pretty sure the gpu has fried but I'd thought to ask on here

A couple of months ago I started having problems, the screen would completely freeze and I would have to restart it for it to work. Originally, I troubleshooted a lot and tried a lot of different diagnosis and fixes. I had to reinstall windows twice before it started to sort of work.

It worked for a couple of days until the same problems started again, this time I tried to reinstall the drivers which lead to the track pad and keyboard becoming unresponsive. I fixed those and it seemed like it was working again. I could even play a game of CIV without it crashing.

And then a couple days ago whenever I'd open a program or watch a video the screen would freeze, flash black for a couple of seconds and return to normal.

And now it's gotten worse to where all I can do is login before the screen permanently turns black, sometimes I can see and move the cursor and control alt delete does open up the normal screen. But if I try to open task manager it goes back to a black screen.

I tried connecting it to an external monitor and its the exact same thing, just a black screen and maybe a cursor.

I tried to go into system recovery to try and boot it In safe mode just in case I installed the drivers incorrectly the first time (I uninstalled the previous drivers and rebooted as I was told it would automatically install the newest drivers) however when I get to the troubleshooting screen it freezes completely.

Im pretty sure it is the gpu unfortunately so I'm going to have to return it and hope for a refund. I really want to try to fix it but I'm not sure what else I can try as I cant actually do anything on the laptop to troubleshoot or fix it. I'd even reinstall windows again but I can't get into system restore without it freezing first. Any ideas?

I'm not sure on the specific specs as I can't check but it's a HP 250 G4 notebook if that helps at all.

    BSOD when resuming from hibernation/sleep

    Posted: 01 Jan 2019 03:36 AM PST

    Hello,

I'm running Windows 7 x64 on an AMD FX-8350 4.0 GHz. For a few weeks now I've been occasionally experiencing blue screens right after resuming my PC from hibernation or sleep. I hibernate my computer practically each time I turn it off, but I get a BSOD only once a week or two, sometimes more often. The rest of my specs is as follow:

    Motherboard: Asus M5A78L-LE

    RAM: 8GB

Graphics card: nVidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB

Besides updating my system and software regularly, I wouldn't know what to try. The BSOD error varies nearly each time and I don't really have any ideas as to which program might be causing this. I was hoping that maybe you guys can find out something useful from the memory dumps. I don't have all of them, but here are three (here, here, and here) which you can have a look at. The errors are different, but the causing driver is always ntoskrnl.exe. Any ideas what might be the culprit? I have BlueScreenView, but I haven't been able to make much sense of the information it gives. but Let me know if you need any additional information.

    Thanks!

Dell Inspiron 5570 Wi-Fi adapter problem

    Posted: 01 Jan 2019 03:26 AM PST

Hello. My Dell Inspiron 5570 Wi-Fi adapter doesn't seem to be working. Can't open Wi-Fi settings and Bluetooth, as well. Wi-Fi adapter and Bluetooth driver seem to be missing from Device Manager.

What I have done to troubleshoot:

    • Reinstalled Wi-Fi/Bluetooth drivers (Qualcomm...) from Dell Website. Reinstalled. Drivers were installed but Wi-Fi still don't work. Upon reset, it's gone again
    • Checked for Hardware issues. Technician didn't find any problems with the Wi-Fi adapter itself
    • Did a WIndows 10 Reset also but to avail.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Laptop charger help: can I use a different adaptor with the same power brick?

    Posted: 01 Jan 2019 03:17 AM PST

Hi! So my ASUS laptop adaptor (/power plug? I don't think I'm using the correct technical term but I mean this: https://i.imgur.com/5YYrdny.jpg) kind of exploded on me. It's been becoming wonky for a while now so I was bending it in all 360 degrees trying to make it work (which works for my earphones when one side's not working, so why not my laptop charger, right?) That turned out to be a bad idea because next thing I know, my laptop adaptor charger thing had a bright flash and then - a hole.

So basically I sent it for warranty (because it's a very new laptop) but then they tell me I'm unable to claim it because of the hole in my charger. (Because of the hole as I might have tampered/broke it myself) Purchasing a new one would cost 15$. So I'm wondering: do I even need the exact same one? The power brick is still intact and fully functioning so would using a different power plug adaptor be okay? My friend gave me his old ASUS one and it has the same amperes and voltage so I feel like it should be fine. I'd just like the knowledgeable Reddit masses to please confirm I'm not damaging my computer by using a different adaptor.

TLDR; is it necessary for me to buy a new (https://i.imgur.com/5YYrdny.jpg) for my computer or can I just use another one with the same amperes and voltage?

Can I use 1.1.1.1. and a VPN at the same time?

Can I use a VPN while using 1.1.1.1. Or does that defeat the purpose of using a DNS Resolver?

Node.js script that i need to run often gives errors, how do i auto restart it after one?

    Posted: 01 Jan 2019 02:53 AM PST

The script isnt that long, i start it with a .bat that basically says node script.js. Dont really know what more info i can give.

Sorry if this isnt the right place to ask this, its just first sub that came to my mind. Feel free to suggest a more suitable one.

I searched and found many threads to i think what is my problem but all of them are in non understandable techno coding babble that i dont understand anything about, and none was just a simple clear instruction on what to do.

No signal to my monitor after gpu upgrade

    Posted: 01 Jan 2019 02:44 AM PST

Last year i built a pc and for some reasson it wouldent send a signal to my moniter when plugged in ( it would stay on "auto detect) after a bit of fiddling with the inside it randomly just worked and i havent had any issues till today

Today i upgraded from the 1050 to the 1060 qnd aftee installation im having the same problem as before. The pc and everything in it seems to be working fine ( the gpu fan turns on for a bit for the power is in and all my lights turn on) but no matter what i cant get any signal on a monitor. Ive tried two monitors, one is my tv with a hdmi cable and the other is a normal monitor that uses a VGS ( i think its called that, can someone correct me?)

Specs: nvidia 1060 3g graphics card, MSI b350m motherboard and a 550 power unit. I dont remmeber much else from the top of my head but if its needed i can get the other specs

Fixes i have tried: multiple monitors and multiple hdmi cables, removing and reinserting the new graphics card, putting back the old graphics card, ( this one perplexes me) unplugging most of my pc's innards and replugging them

I've heard sometimes the ram is rhe issue here. Ive taken out the ram and stuck it back in to no avil as well. Ive also heard that switching ram slots could help but saddly i only have 2 slots and one of them is blocked by a fan

Any possible fixed would be greatly appreciated

Also sorry if there is any bad grammar

Buzzing voice from adapter "Lenovo Laptop"

    Posted: 01 Jan 2019 02:40 AM PST

    Legion Y530-15ICH Laptop

It's been 3 days i bought my brand new PC and I am hearing a "buzz" voice from my charging adapter. Tried to call the service and they asked me to ship the PC and components to them wait 30 days at least. That is very bad support from them! How the crap i am supposed to not use my newly bought computer for 30 days?!

However I want to ask if it is a bad, harmful thing to have? When i am doing intense things adapter goes buzz all the way up and others it has tiny voice in it when you stick your ear. What should i do? Shouldn't i continue using charger? I can provide a video/sound if its necessary.

Amazon(where i bought) also gave me warranty and they offered me to refund my product. Other than buzz, this PC works perfectly.

    Sms from dominos. How?

    Posted: 31 Dec 2018 10:33 PM PST

Hi guys. Help me out with this one. I came to Australia for holidays and bought prepaid sim card (optus). After about 2-3 weeks on a roadtrip with friends we randomly stoped in small town somewhere along great ocean road to grab dominos pizza. We walk in, order and pay with cash. After ten minutes we pick up our order and sit outside to eat when i get sms from dominos saying my order is ready for pickup. How did they get my number? I didn't give them any information or anything and we even paid with cash. How is that possible? As we drove off we discussed situation and next time we stopped at dominos we explained what happened to employees there and they had no idea how that would be possible. Do you have any ideas? I have iphone x

Every single log in option isn't one I have or isn't one I can get access to. Oh, when I want to try and get help from a real person what do they do? Try and charge me $5 a month for live support. Screw you Yahoo, no wonder you're a company going under. You lost me forever.

    Creating an accountability app/text system?

    Posted: 01 Jan 2019 01:56 AM PST

I know next to nothing about creating anything other than basic Microsoft office programs. Is there any way for me to learn how to create some sort of system that i could input any number of telephone numbers into to send mass messages to? The goal is for accountability for my work. If there is anything needed for a mass recall/incident i'd love to have some sort of text based system where i could send a mass text- receive their basic yes no answers and compile a list of those that said "yes" for instance to contact them for further details. If anyone could point me in a direction or a link i'd appreciate it more than you'd know!

Somehow messed up my GPU when installing a new CPU

    Posted: 01 Jan 2019 01:53 AM PST

    Detail here: https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/comments/abfxb8/upgrading_cpu_causing_massive_issues_i7_2600k/?

Summary: Had issues installing a CPU. After updating BIOS PC finally booted using new CPU but when I got into windows the resolution was messed up and only one monitor was working. After a few seconds, the other monitors turned on and everything was fine. A few seconds after that, all monitors went black.

After hours and hours and troubleshooting I've determined the issue is the GPU. I've tested the GPU in two other working machines, on each machine the GPU seems to be the culprit. On startup the screen just stays black, and get vga red LED light on, and the fans don't spin up. On my min machine I've also taken it entirely apart, cleaned, and put back together making sure everything is seated. What else can I try? It's a GTX 1070 and the main board is ASUS P67 running windows 10.
