Recently I fancied checking out what android is all about so grabbed a dirt cheap S8 off a work colleague but I have 0 idea what I'm doing. I managed to set it up, created my google and Samsung accounts and downloaded the latest software last night but today will be my first day with the phone. Please advise anything I need to check out first, any cool things I can do with the device, anything I can't do on an iPhone etc Thanks all! [link] [comments]  | ||

| Posted: 29 Nov 2018 06:44 AM PST I have a Samsung fridge (just moved into a house) with an in-door ice machine. I tested it before we moved in and it worked fine. Before moving out, the previous owners unplugged the fridge, since I've turned it back on it has stopped working. Any idea what the problem might be? The water line for the filtered water works fine. Posted: 29 Nov 2018 07:30 AM PST I'm trying to track my weight by entering it manually into the Samsung health app, but my old weight that is set in my galaxy watch keeps coming into the app as a daily entry as well. And therefore I get this "average weight" calculation every day because I've got my new low weight added in with my old weight. Way around this is to set the weight in my watch every day instead of the app. Which is a lot more difficult. Any way around this? [link] [comments]  | ||

EDIT: It's legit pissing me off cause I've found nothing to turn it off and it works like that : whenever I get a notification, there's a bubble that pops up in the middle of the screen, and when it's the Spotify Player Notification and I click on it, Spotify pops up in picture-in-picture mode. We have an active son who always ends up very blurry but the background is perfect. Tracking AF is on, it works much better with Open Camera. Coming from iPhone I almost never had this problem. I just downloaded the Android Pie beta for my Samsung Galaxy S9. on Oreo, there was a way to disable the bixby button to not do anything even when pressed. I'm not a fan of bixby and would like to disable the button again but I can't find a way to do it on Pie. is this just not implemented yet? am I stuck with accidentally pressing the bixby button and opening the app forever now? any answers help, thanks. Everything looks fine, feels weighty, but inside the box was just a custom ziplock style bag, which seems like an odd packaging choice, and raises concerns about whether the charger is genuine or not. I contacted samsung but they were no help with validating the serial number. Can anyone confirm that the ziplock type bag is legitimate packaging? [link] [comments]  | ||
