Posted: 28 Nov 2018 01:54 AM PST I don't know if it is meant to be like this, or I am the only one who experience this. But in YT Vanced, I cannot refresh my feed. When I swipe down, it just won't refresh but it has no problem in the subscription feed. If I want to refresh the feed, I need to close the app and reopens it. Does this happen to anyone else? Official YouTube app now won't fade out the controls automatically. Posted: 28 Nov 2018 12:53 AM PST Not sure if this is a recently update, did not notice it until today. The touchscreen controls for YouTube stay on the screen until you press the "X" next to the full screen icon. Anyone have the same problem? Is there a setting to go back to the old way where they fade out after 2 or 3 seconds? [link] [comments] |
Looking for an app to manually connect to WiFi on an older version of Android (4.4.2) Posted: 28 Nov 2018 08:50 AM PST I have an LG Optimus Prime running Android 4.4.2. it's rather old, I know, but I have no means of getting a new phone currently. I've rooted the phone and tried to manually update it, but my boot sector is bad so I cannot. The stock wifi connection manager has no way to manually add a connection. The wifi at my work is hidden. I've tried a couple of apps that scan for hidden networks but will not connect even after I put in the password. I know the SSID of the network, but have not been able to find an app that will let me just input the name and password. Again, my phone is rooted if there is something I can do with that as well Any suggestions? [link] [comments] |

Other apps with the 'Snapchat scissor' tool? Posted: 28 Nov 2018 06:16 AM PST Snapchat has an excellent scissor tool where you can quickly make a sticker out of a photo and then place it on top of other photos. The only issue is this tool is totally broken on the Pixel 3XL. Do any other apps have similar functionality that is as quick and easy to use? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 28 Nov 2018 03:28 AM PST My old Meizu had a very simple bu effective screenshot app. I'd take a screenshot, and it would immediately let me crop the screenshot. I've tried numerous apps but they are all bloated with features and ads. I need something very simply. Screen cap > adjust edges -> save. Any recommendations? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 28 Nov 2018 08:04 AM PST I frequently want to make on-the-fly edits to some epubs while I read them, but so far I have not been able to find any epub editors for Android, just readers. Anyone know if an editor exists? And no, I don't want to fiddle with renaming the file to .zip, editing the xml files, and putting it back together. [link] [comments] |
Reddit app that hides seen posts Posted: 28 Nov 2018 11:32 AM PST I've been using Boost and really like it but I don't see a way to hide posts I've already seen. I know each Reddit app has it's fans and I've tried some good ones in the past like RIF. [link] [comments] |
Disable notifications from an app during set hours? Posted: 28 Nov 2018 11:27 AM PST Hey there, I have a Pixel 2 with Slack installed for strictly work related communication when I am not at my desk, but still in the office. I do not use it outside of work hours and do not wish to receive notifications outside of my normal 9-5. Is there any way within Android, Slack, or with a third party app to disabled notifications from Slack (or any app for that matter) during set hours? Thanks for any help. [link] [comments] |

Any way to prevent my wife from taking *accidental* vertical (EVIL) video? Posted: 28 Nov 2018 10:29 AM PST Hi there. My wife has a Samsung Galaxy s6, I have a Note 5, and we both agree (perhaps not with equal passion) that vertical video is indisputably the devil's doing. Despite this mutual understanding, my wife, mother of my children, frequently enough to drive me nearly nuts, accidentally shoots family video vertically, in recordings which she had intended to be horizontal. (Simply writing these words makes me shudder...) She knows not to shoot vertically on purpose, for I have lovingly and thoroughly shamed her for doing so in the past (and as a tech-savvy professional photographer, she gets why). This accidental habit likely occurs from shooting downward, like at a baby, where her phone's gyroscope doesn't always know it should be in landscape, or perhaps is sometimes too slow in switching from portrait before she smashes record to capture that magical moment. The result, of course, is a horizontally composed video stuck in an evil vertical position. Yes, I can use an app to rotate it and re-export a new file, but this gets really annoying to manage, not to mention it strips the metadata, which sucks for archiving purposes; we take A LOT of video and I am a meticulous archivist. And yes, there is also probably a resolution loss? There are no cases, except maybe Snapchat because they wickedly force it, where either of us would want to shoot vertically, yet still her gallery is littered with accidental vertical video! Fgghghhthtttrrt! Please, is there any way to prevent, avoid, or even outright disable vertical video from existence? Seriously, a simple option to disable portrait video recording in the stock camera would be a godsend. Is it time for new phones with faster gyroscopes? Is it time for a new wife? P.S. Why are MY videos never vertical and only hers, you ask? It might be that my phone's gyroscope reacts slightly faster -- it might be that I obsessively check that everything is landscape before pressing record, often missing irreplaceable captured moments due to a split-second delay of patience - it might be that it's just one of those things I nag her about constantly and she sort of agrees with semi-rolled eyes and hasn't raised to a level of priority like I have because she's got other stuff on her mental-mom-list to stay on top of. Can anyone recommend a functioning call recorder? Perhaps offer some assistance with this one? Posted: 27 Nov 2018 05:21 PM PST So back on my Note 5 I used an app called Call Recorder by SKVALEX Apps and was completely satisfied. However it didn't transfer with my other apps and contacts with the included wires that came with my new and beloved Pixel 3. Anyway I tried to re-download what I'm assuming is a newer version but I can't quite get it to work right. After reading some user reviews it seems that I'm not the only Pixel 3 user that has this problem. So here I am, hoping someone with a similar problem(or hopefully using the same app) can help or perhaps recommend a call recorder app that they're currently and successfully using with their new Pixel 3. I'd really appreciate the help and I don't care if it's a paid app or not. Back in the day the unlocker to my old one cost ten bucks and I'd say it was absolutely worth the money. Anyway, thanks for your time. [link] [comments] |
Alternative to FeedMe rss reader Posted: 28 Nov 2018 05:51 AM PST I very much like this rss reader for it's simplicity + offline syncing + inoreader integration. But the autosync doesn't work anymore and the dev told me it would not be resolved before a very long time. Does anyone has any alternatives? It should at least support inoreader and auto sync articles offline while on wifi. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.seazon.feedme&hl=en_US [link] [comments] |

Posted: 28 Nov 2018 01:08 AM PST So my therapist says I need to do this to learn what my emotions are. She wants me to keep a log, but I will forget throughout the day. I want something where it can notify me 5 or so times a day at random times so I can jot it down. Preferably something that also has a time I can set when I'm sleep so it doesn't bother me then. Is there a Twitter app that lets me block what other people like? Posted: 28 Nov 2018 01:07 AM PST My timeline gets flooded with what people I follow have liked which is an incredibly redundant feature since that's what the retweet button is for. I also don't want to unfollow these accounts so is there a third party Twitter app that will allow me to do this? [link] [comments] |
PDF reader that can sync between PC and phone? Posted: 27 Nov 2018 10:37 PM PST I used to use Foxit PDF, but a recent update has asked for like 9 new permissions and it seems intrusive. Are there any alternatives to this that isn't trying to get access to everything on my phone? [link] [comments] |

App that displays home and away timezone on lockscreen? Posted: 27 Nov 2018 10:40 PM PST I'm on vacation and noticed on my friend's Samsung S9 that his lock screen automatically displayed the current time in the time zone we are in as well as the time in our home time zone. I have a OnePlus 5. Is there an app that does the same thing? [link] [comments] |

Change system language just to get Google Tap ? Posted: 28 Nov 2018 05:55 AM PST Hi! I have a little issue with Google's new "search on your screen" feature. It's great, but my phone doesnt allow me to use it, because I am not in the "supported" list. Do I have to change my whole syetem language on the phone to English if I want to use it or is there an another solution? I dont really want to set it to English just beacause of this, but it looks like my phone only allow to use Google like that if I do that. (I dont have a problem using Google in English, but I dont want to set my whole phone to English). Thanks. [link] [comments] |
