| Pc performing very poorly out of sudden Posted: 27 Nov 2018 04:07 AM PST Hey guys, I'm having a strange problem here. All out of sudden all of my games run like crap. I've updated my drivers and even rolled back a couple of days but they all have a max of 20fps. I'm talking csgo, but also battlefield V and gta V. None of them run above 20 fps. Cuphead runs at a constant 30 fps, but i'm not sure if its capped. Could be, since its a xbox one console exclusive. I'm assuming its a windows thing, since all games are affected. I'm pretty sure it can't be the power settings. I already checked those. My rig has an i5-4460, gtx 1070, 16GB ddr3 ram. Cheers, Bas [link] [comments]  |
| Posted: 27 Nov 2018 01:34 AM PST Hello guys, me and a friend of mine have mayor internet problems lately, which are really strange. Scenario: We are talking over Discord and are playing Overwatch. But like every 3rd or 4th game either him or me gets hard pingspikes and pack loss which causes rubberbanding and makes the game unplayable. This happens in every other game, but always every 3rd or 4th game. Like a few games are completely fine and suddenly in 1 game we have huge pingspikes which last like 5 seconds and then it goes back to normal ping for 5 seconds. Also I normally have a ping of about 32ms and when it starts lagging my lowest ping becomes like 41ms. The only thing which we both have in common is, that we have the same provider, but other speeds (he has 60k and I have 150k). Also strange is, that this doesn't affect the voice chat at all. So Discord isn't lagging, only the games. Since this is a really special and strange problem, I might thought someone could help me/us here. [link] [comments]  |

I switched my default graphics card from Intel Graphics 620 to my GTX. All of a sudden, my games are locked at 30 fps; which is funny because my computer should be able to run games like Fortnite or CS GO at higher frame rates. Someone will call and there will be a grating scrambled noise over and over again. I'll hang up and they'll call several times in a row with the same thing. Tonight, to avoid the incessant calling, I just didn't hang up and muted my end of the call. Strangely, they did not hang up either for 5 minutes and so many seconds and the noise stopped. They didn't call again. My question: is there a problem with my landline? I've found no other problems like it online. | Posted: 27 Nov 2018 02:33 AM PST Hey all, I'm usually pretty solid with this sort of thing but I'm totally stumped. Maybe it's just faulty. Long story short: Got a new RTX 2070 recently. My monitor is an older 144hz 1080p monitor that only takes DVI-D and HDMI, want to use DVI-D to get my 144hz. 2070 I have only does HDMI and display port. Got a cable that goes display port to DVI-D to work, but it only does 60hz for some reason. Think it's weird but figure it's a limitation of the cable. Did some research, found an adaptor plug that goes display port -> Female DVI-D -> My old DVI-D cable that I know works on 144hz because I was using it before upgrade. Plug new adaptor thing in, boot PC, just black screen DVI mode on monitor says no. give it a reboot, okay got something... weird sparkles green/white on the screen but can see standard boot in background. Notice it looks kinda fuzzy and weird. Get into windows notice nVidia driver is disabled Code 43 error. Weird, figure new adaptor thing is crap/broken needs replacing so I remove it and go back to original upgraded cable that goes end to end display port -> DVI-D. boot, resolution looks better but as it boots windows same weird artifacts and fuzziness. try to disable and uninstall nVidia drivers figure they're corrupted or something. remove drivers and windows looks a little clearer. try to reinstall, same issues. Can't get drivers to load after remove and add or any other reason. still trying to troubleshoot I unplug whole DVI set up and whack in a HDMI cable just to see if I can get any joy out of it. Still same issues. GPU will now not run at all with drivers. I'm completely out of ideas, my expectation is that the GPU is now faulty or was always faulty (only 2 days out of box). I assume i'll probably be able to have it replaced still... But is this just like some sort of windows issue now? I'd hate to have it replaced only to have the same issue. Posted: 26 Nov 2018 05:17 AM PST When I do a speed test on my pc that is connected to the router vith a cable I get download speed of 98mbps and upload speed of 6mbps. But when I do a speed test on my phone a few feet from the router so the wifi signal is strong I get 0.5mbps of download speed and upload speed didnt even start. When I use someone else's wifi things are pretty normal. Btw my internet provider is doing some upgrades to their overall system I dont know what exactly. So my question is could this be a problem by the provider or is it the router? [link] [comments]  |
| Posted: 27 Nov 2018 04:29 AM PST My wifi is dropping semiperiodically and I think the fault is from my motherboard's integrated wifi. I've been getting frequent drops every 15-20 minutes, and I can definitely say that its my computer that's acting out, as my other devices remain connected. What I've tried is reinstalling/updating the chipset and wireless drivers from the official website, which didn't help at all. A terribly inconvenient fix was manually disconnecting and reconnecting to my network, besides from the repair utility which takes much longer to reconnect. what always worked was resetting the driver from the utility, which gave me the idea to manually reconnect it which works. Anyways I'm looking for an actual solution to this issue without having to manually reconnect every 20 minutes. [link] [comments]  |

| trying to decide whether its worth it or not to fix my graphics card Posted: 27 Nov 2018 04:03 AM PST So i have the AMD radeon hd 8850m in an inspiron 5537 and i feel like i should be getting more performance in games from it and the reason i say that is that when i look up GPU-Z it shows the the default clock speed is 625 MHz and the memory is 1000 MHz but when i check the sensors while having a game open it shows that my graphics card is running at 400 MHz clock speed and 300 MHz memory and these values stay the same ALL the time it doesn't matter if i have a browser open or a game its stays the same 400 clock speed and 300 memory. So my question here is this : if i get the default values for my graphics card will the performance boost be worth it? because if i get 3 or 2 more fps from fixing it then its not worth it for me so basically if i get 625 MHz instead of 400 MHz on clock speed and get 1000 MHz memory instead of 300 will i notice a difference in my AMD radeon 8850m performance or not? Note that its most likely a problem with the drivers but i have tried so many things and i cant get it to work [link] [comments]  |

I have 2 xbox360 controllers for about 2 years now (bought used) with a knock-off wireless receiver (yeah, it sucks not having money for the real deal) and they've been working flawlessly until now. Out of the blue, one of them just won't sync. The other still works perfectly. I've uninstalled drivers, installed them from the microsoft store, i tried using the ones that come with win10 (it worked the 1st time), i even formatted the disk and reinstalled windows. I tried to have my brother fix it and he did, one time. Then it just stopped The second time this happened we used more than one mic including a different snowball mic that was my brother's. Then we tried my headphones (razor) and used both cords but that didn't work either. I also use obs and when I talked into all three mics all of them fail. My question is what kind of problem could I run into the future? I know if I want to be 100% safe, I should install a fresh windows 10. Can I use the same key I got when I bought w10? I all of a sudden became an admin of a page called Lee Bible. I did not create such page and i did not accept any offers to be an admin of the page. I searched around and I see that there are a few more pages with the same Name,content and Profile Picture. I am 100% sure i did not create any Pages. I have checked the page roles and i am the only Admin there. No other members. I am able to change and post anything there as well. I logged into my 2nd acc and checked the page. It just starts with a window error sound and my game freezes. Had to start up task manager to end the game and reconnect on client. Went to event viewer and found that it is something relating to Application Hang. Since I am not an expert, I am really puzzled on what is causing the application hang. I couldn't sign out and sign in again since the computer is administrator controlled by our MIS. Yesterday, all my files could still be accessed from the users. But today, all my desktop files were gone. The weirdest thing is that only my desktop files were deleted. Everything else in the libraries and everywhere else were still intact. The computer, (Dell) which runs on Windows 10, has not been connected to the internet or updated ever since I started using it. I tried searching for answers or for people with similar problems but all I can find are articles or threads when they updated Windows. Either that or installing a third party software and since the computer is administrator controlled, you can't change, delete or install any programs. So i can't try to solve it on my own without the permission of our IT guys. Can anybody help me? All my work and files gone in an instant. Is there any way for me to recover my lost files? It was a pain in the ass to get all of these development tools working, little own Gradle and Maven because the servers were blocked by the proxy and I'm really hoping there's a way to circumvent this restriction. I've replaced my PSU, an SSD, have verified that it isn't my GPU because it's restarted while my GPU wasn't in the system, and my ram passed the memory diagnostic test just fine. My temps are also fine. Someone has tested our outlets and said that there is no interruption in power. What else could it be? The only other thing it could be is the mobo or CPU? Here are my specs.
