    6 GB vs 8 GB?

    Posted: 30 Oct 2018 11:50 AM PDT

Is 8 GB RAM really worth it? Does it really perform much better than the 6 GB variant?

Am I the only one hoping for a OnePlus Watch?

    Posted: 30 Oct 2018 09:06 AM PDT

XDA claims: "The fingerprint scanner isn’t always active" - To get around this, you can use one of three features: ambient display lift-to-wake, single tap-to-wake, or double-tap-to-wake.

    OnePlus 6t vs iPhone XR

    Posted: 30 Oct 2018 06:28 PM PDT

Currently looking at getting a 6t but I also currently have the option to get a XR at about the same price. From what it looks like I'm going to get more about what I care about from the 6t compared to the XR. Great screen, lots of screen, and some cool little features here and there with the 6t. Any reasons to go for the XR over the 6t? I have used iOS my whole life but I'm really not worried about switching to android.

First impressions after around 6 hours of use! (UD-fingerprint sensor, Vibration motor etc.)

    Posted: 30 Oct 2018 02:03 PM PDT

So I got a Oneplus 6t Mirror Black early because of media and Youtube stuff and would like to share my initial impressions about the device!

    Cool stuff:

    • The fingerprint sensor
      • Yeah, it isn't as fast as it looks in the videos, but I think that the unlock time doesn't matter since the time it takes to unlock the device is usually wasted in picking up the device etc. anyways and being able to unlock my phone when it's on a table is a nice thing to have!
    • The size
      • The body hasn't gotten noticeably bigger, but it has gotten more T H I C C which IS noticeable. However it feels great and maybe a little more rigid in the hand now, and the camera bump is smaller.
    • The battery
      • Haven't been testing for a long time, but battery life seems solid. Quick charging is still fast as always, and even with pre-release software (I can tell they don't usually have good battery life) the battery seems to last really well
    • The missing of Jack
      • This is a thing that's not so big for me anymore, as a reviewer I change phones often and have from time to time landed on a device that is missing the jack. The only use I have for it anymore is to hook up my lavalier mic to my phone, and a dongle does that job well since I use the Bullets Wireless for everything else.
    • The screen
      • From quick inspection, it seems to actually be a little brighter than I expected
    • Vibration motor
      • From my experience I could say it hasn't changed at all
    • No LED
      • This is something that I admit kinda grinds my gears, haven't gotten used to it yet but seems that I'll have to!

So that's my first impressions of the device, feel free to ask more questions below and have a nice day!

    Thank you for reading!!

Does the new fingerprint reader work for protected apps?

    Posted: 30 Oct 2018 01:30 PM PDT

I've been watching a few review videos on the new 6T but haven't seen it mentioned yet. Does anyone know if the new under screen fingerprint reader will work for protected apps such as banking apps etc. ?

OP6 Night Mode vs Regular Comparaison

    Posted: 30 Oct 2018 04:46 PM PDT

Not impressed so far... Especially because it takes way longer than the "2 seconds" they advertised during the event... More like 10+, and the results, as you can see seen worse than normal.

What do you guys think? I'm still glad they're trying to make it better though.

    Tax buying direct from OnePlus?

    Posted: 30 Oct 2018 06:08 PM PDT

I was going to buy a OnePlus from T-Mobile but was wondering if I would save some cash buying direct? Does anyone know if they charge tax? Thanks

How is the coverage of a OnePlus phone on the AT&T network?

    Posted: 30 Oct 2018 12:29 PM PDT

I was going through the band coverage that the OnePlus 6t offers and comparing to At&T and saw some weren't there and the warning says that if At&T doesn't cover the bands then there could be coverage problems? I was just checking before deciding whether to buy or not.

I'm considering updating from my Pixel 2 to the OnePlus 6T. Talk me into - or out of - it.

    Posted: 30 Oct 2018 02:01 PM PDT

I dropped my Pixel 2 a few months ago and cracked the screen, so I was planning on updating to the Pixel 3 when it came out. That phone, however, seems extremely underwhelming for the price. Things I really like about the 6T:

    • Nearly bezel-less display.
    • "Fast and smooth" mantra - my biggest gripe about my Pixel 2 is how much is seems to have slowed down in just a year.
    • Price - it seems like incredible value.

Things that would keep me using my Pixel 2 and skipping the upgrade:

    • Continued instant updates from Google.
    • Vanilla Android - I don't have any experience with Oxygen OS. I don't know how different it is compared to vanilla Android and if I would like it as much.
    • I get to keep my ~$600.

Anyone else in the same boat? Any thoughts?

Will there be a mod for always on display?

    Posted: 30 Oct 2018 01:06 PM PDT

I heard that there might have been one for the OP6.

Coming from the 3xl, I'm relying on the big OP community for modding support to be able to give up my 3xl but still retain features like gcam and always on display.

Is this a reasonable expectation? Does Magisk Hide (for Google pay) and other common mods work?

Best way to purchase OnePlus 6T - Direct from OnePlus site or Amazon ?

    Posted: 30 Oct 2018 10:52 AM PDT

    Unlocked GSM user here.

Normally buy directly from OnePlus website. Although they said they will be offering it on Amazon.

Amazon has better return policy and customer service.

Def. not going to buy from T-mobile/Verizon or any other carrier.

    Thoughts?

OnePlus 6T first update: Oxygen OS 9.0.4

I don't see beta 6. Am I doing something wrong?

    Posted: 30 Oct 2018 04:16 PM PDT

On the OnePlus site under OnePlus 6 I only see beta 5. Is there somewhere else I need to go, or what?

    Verizon support and longevity.

    Posted: 30 Oct 2018 03:58 PM PDT

Hey all, currently on an LG V20 and looking to upgrade. The 6t is very tempting right now and I'm between that and the note 9. Oxygen os and faster updates has me hooked though especially at like 50-60% price. Be honest though, how longevity been for past one plus devices? I haven't kept up with them much so any advice helps. Also I know they added some Verizon bands into the 6t. Is Verizon fully supported now? If I buy and go Verizon am I going to get subpar service?
