PC Issue (literally can't find a solution) Posted: 02 Sep 2018 09:00 AM PDT Hey, I'm writing this post because I currently am hopeless about my PC. Basically, I get no signal on my monitor and the GPU fans start spinning then stop after 10-15 seconds. Something happened when I was cleaning my computer. I did everything like I always did and never had an issue. The difference is that I removed the CPU fan in order to clean it and also to apply new thermal paste (I didn't remove the CPU). I used a dry air can to remove the dust. When I finished cleaning it, I started the computer. The first time I started it, all the lights turned on then turned off and the computer was doing that in a loop. The fans were starting then stopping and so on. So what I decided to do was to remove and CPU and replace it better. Somehow, it fixed this issue of continuously rebooting, but showed another issue : the no signal thing. When I turn my computer on now, everything starts correctly as usual. But the monitor says no display, and the GPU fans stop spinning even tho they always spun normally. I tried with another very old GPU, still no signal but the fans of the GPU don't stop spinning. I tried with a DVI cable (I use DP cable usually), doesn't work. I also tried removing the RAM sticks as a website I was browsing advised and it didn't help. The CPU is an i5 7600k (non overclocked) and the GPU is a GTX 1070 FTW from EVGA (non overclocked aswell). Motherboard is an ASUS Z270-A Pro. I'm helpless it's been 2-3 weeks and I have work to do before school resumes in September. I tried everything I could, I am not very knowledgeable in computers, even tho I built it myself (took me 6 hours haha). Thank you for your help in advance ! EDIT : Yes I thought about the problem being maybe with the motherboard, but since the other GPU's fans didn't stop, I thought it could only be with the GPU. [link] [comments]
Acer aspire E1-570 Bios corrupted Posted: 02 Sep 2018 12:10 AM PDT I flashed a Bios mod and it corrupted the bios, the person who was helping me with that went quiet on me not long after trying to recover. I have tried recovery on the board to no avail, the best i have gotten is making a bad dump of the Bios. I recently went back on the site where i got the mod and the person is active but he is actively ignoring me as well. Can someone please help me [link] [comments]
PC is acting weird I'm on the hunt to figure it out but I know nothing. Posted: 02 Sep 2018 03:27 AM PDT Alright so this is very recent, I've been trying to figure out what is going on with my PC. It's lagging ( Stuttering(?)) hardcore , I can't watch YouTube videos when playing WoW or any other online games they drop down to 420p and won't load (Fire Fox browser). I've noticed This happening with online games, not with single player as bad. I don't get FPS drops still getting my 40-50 on BF1, 120 on RL, etc. I noticed audio crackling very often, I did a factory reset on PC seemed to fix it. I'm not sure what else to add to this if anyone could guide me through this and get this all figured out. I've tested hard drives also, uninstalled the same game and put it on each one of my hard drives changed nothing. Internet is decent, computer is a little dated - Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4790k CPU @ 4.00GHz, Ram 16 GB, Nvidia Geforce 970 - [link] [comments]
Shutting down PC, turns back on by itself. Posted: 02 Sep 2018 03:11 AM PDT As the title suggests, my PC just turns back on. I've read online that it might have something to do with my PC crashing upon shutting down, then restarting. So I unchecked the automatic restart box under advanced system settings, shut down and it still restarted. No BSOD, nothing. Event viewer's not showing anything in relation to that either. Question is, is this some sort of BIOS problem? It never used to do this until a couple of days ago. [link] [comments]

Sony Viao fan loud then shutdown Posted: 01 Sep 2018 07:09 PM PDT I have a Sony Viao, with a messed up fan. This started about a year ago, but never caused me to many problems so I never fixed it. It would just occasionally rev up and operate really loudly for a minute or two, but then stop and I could use the laptop. For the past week it would rev up and eventually the computer would shut down. I included a video of the sound and some temperature readings(you can pause video to read some stats) https://streamable.com/k17tl ( i think you have to go to streamable site first then input link) Laptop is SVT151A11L I cleaned out the dust of the fan, but problem persists. Also I tried to run the laptop with fan unplugged, but laptop would start then shut down after 30 seconds(dont know if it the laptop automatically shuts down when no fan is detected for safety reasons). I am thinking it is some sort of software problem, or maybe I need to replace the fan. Any ideas? laptop is Model SVT151A11L [link] [comments]
