Do I have to input all the emails in my google excel sheet one by one? Is there a way that I can somehow just plug in ALL the emails in the google excel sheet at once? Either in "to" or "bbc"? Posted: 24 Sep 2018 09:42 PM PDT Signed into my computer just now and noticed it took especially long to bring me to the desktop - about 15 seconds instead of 5. The start menu wouldn't open once I got their clicked. No big deal, just a simple lockup - so I open task manager, and see that I now have 0.0GB memory and my usage is at -1%. GPU % wasn't shown. I signed out and back in, same thing. Decided to reboot, but I couldn't open the start menu, so I signed out, clicked the power icon from the sign-in screen, and Shut Down. It took about 5 minutes to shut down, then I see a BSOD: STOPCODE DRIVER POWERSTATE FAILURE I haven't installed any new software or devices recently that would require drivers. Now that the reboot has finished, everything seems back to normal. But it left me curious: what caused it? I couldn't find useful results for -1% memory usage on google. Posted: 24 Sep 2018 05:03 AM PDT Dead by Daylight: Gets through loading screem then crashes to desktop with no error message Abzu: gets through loading screen and gives error message about video card drivers not being installed (they are) Totally accurate battlegrounds: gets through loading screen and then within 30 seconds will crash with an error saying a Unity dll had a problem with itself Tried resolutions: turned off Windows Defender, Reinstalled Nvidia Drivers 411.63, changed card back to stock clock, restarting the computer. His specs are very capable: GTX 1060 6GB i5-8500 16GB RAM 550W PSU I'm going to try installing older drivers later today, but after that I'm kind of at a loss, maybe I could go and download DirectX, MS C++, and VisualStudio, but I'm not sure what to do. Now that I think about it, I never downloaded the latest drivers for his CPU, but I doubt that's the problem. | Failing HDD, anyway to get the data off it quickly? Posted: 24 Sep 2018 11:33 PM PDT HDD suddenly became very slow. Been checking the HDD with CrystalDiskInfo and the bad sectors are growing by the hours. 7000 Reallocated Sector Count at 6am this morning to more than 8200 at 4pm in the afternoon. I have been trying to get the data off it for the last couple of hours but the transfer rate is killing me-speed fluctuating between 0KB/s -1MB/s, avg around 300KB/s. With more than 800GB (i am kind of hoarder) to take out of it, it will take more than 30days... The files are mostly video clips and softwares so not all of them are irreplacable but my internet speed is around 700KB so getting them again is gonna be difficult. Is there anyway to transfer the files faster or i should just suck it up and re-download them later? Is the slow transfer rate caused by software as a precautionary measure against further damage to the drive or is the problem purely hardware related and there is no software magic to speed up the transfer? Posted: 24 Sep 2018 10:36 PM PDT Computers in my house get around 50mbps/15mbps (that's fast for Australia), but the actual speed at which we can load websites is at a crawl sometimes. If I connect my phone to my computer and use its data, my computer goes fast as normal, so it can't be my computer (I think). I'm not very familiar with tech stuff as far as networks and the internet are concerned, but any help would be appreciated. [link] [comments]  |
| Snapchat using camera in the background �� Posted: 24 Sep 2018 06:57 PM PDT My phone has been alerting me lately that Snapchat's doing stuff in the background. When I look at the permission history log, it reads: "The apps below were detected using permissions in the background. [...]" It then lists three seperate times on the 21st. One time yesterday. Five times today. All of these were of Snapchat using my camera when I didnt have it open. It's a little funky. Is that normal? If I disable its permissions then I cannot use the app to communicate with friends. Can anything be done? (I have an s9 if that helps. I've only ever recieved these notifications on this phone.) That's the best description I can think of. Each time they come through I try to go to the Unsubscribe link and they all come to the same screen but with the "Unsubscribe from _______" changed. Each has the "Bilco Media" in the corner too. I get at least one, sometimes two every day for the past couple of weeks. They're never the same email address, promotion, or company, but they all end up leading to that same unsubscribe page. I could definitely use some help or direction. Thank you. | Bought a new SSD and installed Windows 10 on it. PC is now LAGGING. Posted: 24 Sep 2018 08:42 PM PDT So here's the deal. I've decided to buy a new SSD to make things go better and faster. I got the Kingston 240gig SSD and connected it inside my PC tower. I download a Windows boot thingy from Microsoft that I copy onto a USB. Power up. Plug in the USB. Boot the installation. Install Windows, yadda yadda yadda.... Now, everything works well. I have an old Windows 10 running smoothly. Google Chrome is working, my Wifi is working... However, the screen resolution is too small, drivers are missing and my second monitor isn't detected. So, I decide to run Windows Update. It takes about 30 minutes but everything is done. NOW. This is the part that sucks. Everything is downloaded and updated... BUT the computer is lagging by intermittence and Chrome is not working anymore ("Site can't be reached") However, Internet Explorer and Edge are fully working. What is happening?? | Posted: 25 Sep 2018 12:22 AM PDT Hello Reddit. I built a gaming pc for myself a while ago now and it has been working fine for a long time. As of last week, however, I have encountered issues regarding pixels all over my screen. I do not know how to describe it but it only shows up on some images, such as profiles on discord and YouTube video thumbnails. I have attempted to see if it affects google images but it does not. The strangest case of this is on some games I play such as counter-strike where the background of the game (only the loading screen) shows the pixels. There is an attached link of what is happening for YouTube thumbnails and CSGO. My pc is not overclocked and everything is stock.I run two monitors, one is brand new and one is over five years old and the issue occurs on both. | Posted: 25 Sep 2018 03:55 AM PDT My pc has been running properly for over a year without any significant hardware interventions. I travelled with it by car to my dorm and started setting it up, cables, power, location etc. The problem is the pc was turning on, but i was getting no signal on my monitor, and also the sound it does wasnt the same. (When it turns on properly i can hear a faint 'initialisation sound' (best way i can describe it) which i think comes from the hard drives spinning , not sure though.) I started my troubleshooting procedure and checked everything without dismatling every component, everything seemed fine. Cleared the bios multiple times, checked the cpu placement... I moved on to the RAM and found some weird things happening. My mb has 2 slots, i used a 4gb stick and an 8gb stick, both of them Kingston hyperx fury red. Now i can only use the 4gb stick in the 1st slot (the one closest to the cpu). I tried every possible combination and it wont work( 4 + 8, 8+4, 8 - 0, nothing but 4-0 works). A friend helped me and brought me some other DDR3 memory sticks but again, it wont work with them(in any combination. So the only possible way to use my computer right now is by using the 4gb memory stick from kingston. Specs: MB: MSI H81M-P33 CPU: Intel i5 4570 GPU: MSI GTX 1060 Gaming X 6G PSU: 450W Sirtec ECO 2 (it is enough power for my whole system) RAM: 4GB+8GB Kingston HyperX Fury Red SSD: Kingston 120GB V300 HDD: WD Blue 1TB + Old Samsung 160GB I really wish the problem isnt the motherboard, so i hope you guys can guide me through finding a solution. Initially I used a HDMI cable but the 4k resolution was at 30hz refresh rate, so I google it and I found that I need a DP cable (or HDMI 2.0). Now I have the DP cable but I'm still having the same problem. 3860x2160@30Hz. I dont think my laptop is setting the monitor connection through my Nvidia Chipset and is using the Intel HD Graphics 530... Posted: 25 Sep 2018 03:48 AM PDT Hi guys, Any normal day, i've been running my PC fine for 3-5 years... turned it on, loaded up Rust and my PC crashed to a white screen? Never seen a white screen crash before... Rebooted, computer came back up fine, loaded up Saints Row IV to test if it was JUST one game, but crashed to white screen again... Rebooted but then didn't boot up?? It beeps once (successful POST) but my keyboard lights don't come on and it doesn't do anything?? What's strange is - I took the GPU out, booted and it crashed again... Took all three RAM sticks out (i have 1 8Gb and 2x 4GB sticks, which I've had for years) put one in at a time til I found the one that crashes... it was the 8GB stick... so I thought "Cool, sorted!"... Put the GPU back in, no boot??? POSTs but doesn't go anywhere?? Take GPU out, instant boot??? if my RAM stick and GPU have both died at the same time, what the f**k has caused this?? Maybe my PSU is on its way out and has surged the components??? Is that possible? Any help I'd appreciate, I need to know whats the problem, I can't afford to keep replacing certain parts until it works. PS. i've done all the basics such as Reseating, pretty much taking whole lot out and reseating it, checked all connections etc. All seems completely fine? Posted: 25 Sep 2018 03:11 AM PDT i'm planning to not let iCloud sync my "desktop and documents folders" because it's taking up too much space (i only have 5.0 GB and its at 4.7 GB), i have read online that i should move the files to somewhere locally on the macbook before i do this. So I am wondering how can i save them locally on a macbook? i am new to mac. Would moving the documents into a folder i create in the "applications" or "downloads" tab on the macbook considered saving it locally (and not in the iCloud)? Additional question, how do i create a new tab under the "favourites"? So far i only see Airdrop, Recents, Applications and Downloads, but i want to create another main tab under here? | Performance throttling on battery Posted: 24 Sep 2018 09:09 PM PDT My laptop is running terribly when unplugged. So terrible I can't even watch YouTube without stuttering every now and then. When on battery my CPU is undervolted by -140mV. My integrated GPU is updated to the latest driver. Is the CPU really supposed to be running on a clock speed lower than its base speed when unplugged? My CPU has a base speed of 2.2 GHz but it usually runs between 800-1500 MHz when unplugged. Is there any way to fix this so I can enjoy watching YouTube videos even if my laptop is unplugged? | Windows 10 update crashing my computer Posted: 25 Sep 2018 02:49 AM PDT My 5/6 year old laptop (Samsung 770Z5E) is forcing me to restart 2/3 times a day to finish installing the latest updates. However, each time it does this it crashes on restart. I have to manually turn it off and back on until it decides to "restore to your previous version of Windows" which works fine until the next time it forces a restart. Solutions I've tried: disabling windows update on "services.msc". Changing the reboot file name in the windows update folders to "reboot.old" and creating a folder called "reboot". What is strange is that when it has restored my previous version of Windows, it still says I am up to date on the windows update settings and that there is no download history. Another important point is that I had to have my hard drive replaced a week ago and my windows reinstalled. Is there any way to stop my laptop from restarting? [link] [comments]  |

The graphics look stunning and the words are crisper, the only problem that I have is the screen starts to tear really badly during competitive or qp matches. | Intel Nuc brightness dims when on white background Posted: 25 Sep 2018 02:40 AM PDT Yesterday I setup an Intel Nuc (connected to an LG TV) and everything is great except the screen dims when it's covered in white. So for example if I load up YouTube it will automatically dim but when the videos appear on the page it will brighten up again. I have tried every Googled explanation such as adaptive brightness and Intel Graphics power saver and everything is as it should be but the problem persists. Also, it's an instant dim if that helps.
