Clean install gave me back a third of my disk space Posted: 25 Sep 2018 04:45 PM PDT Lately, I had noticed that System was taking up 9GB of space on my 15GB Nexus 5X! After reading around online, following tips like clearing the cache, etc., it started to sound like the OS taking up that much space was normal(ish). This didn't sit right with me so I decided to do a clean install of Android Oreo 8.1. Now System files only takes up only 4.7GB of disk space. Yaa! Obviously there was some issue that was only solved by performing a clean install, which, by the way, is a lot less painless ([EDIT] Oops, I meant less painful) now that Android Oreo 8.1 can also back up phone logs and SMS messages. So, if you're phone's storage is being crippled by System files, try a clean install. [link] [comments]
I love picture in picture, but why can't we resize it? Posted: 25 Sep 2018 03:09 PM PDT Seriously, I'm typing this now without having to stop the episode of Netflix I'm watching, but the video is tiny. Does anyone else think it would be great to be able to resize it? [link] [comments]

The new pixel 3 wallpapers show silhouettes on the lock screen AOD Posted: 25 Sep 2018 11:03 AM PDT I didn't see it up here but apparently the apk for the pixel 3 wallpapers is out (just Google it, there's an xda article with a link for whoever's interested.) I saw some screenshots posted up here but what i didn't see mentioned is that some of the details of the wallpapers actually interact with the lockscreen/always on display backlight This might hint at some more AOD customisations coming up? Unfortunately i couldn't figure out how to take a screenshot while the screen is locked but if anyone has any ideas hit me up [link] [comments]

To everyone who told me i couldnt make the PiP bigger.... I did it and heres how Posted: 25 Sep 2018 02:41 PM PDT About 6 months ago I was searching around for a way to make my Pixel XL 2's PiP mode larger without downloading external applications and the other day I was messing with some settings and I found a way to make it about 2x as large... Display setting have a feature sometimes in the accessibility/shortcuts that makes all your font larger (it's called display size on my device) but it will also affect the size of your applications on your home screen as well as your PiP size...
