I am currently in Vietnam and have a cracked screen on my American S8 model. Do any of you guys know if they will/can repair it if go to a Samsung Service Center here? Or if the screen for the SM-G950F (Vietnamese model) will work with my American S8?

Anyone know how to get rid of the secure folder apps of the Google play store and voice search from the app drawer? They just popped up out of nowhere and I can't get rid of them.

Change Volume controls to always show "Media" first instead of "Notifications" options.

    Posted: 01 Aug 2018 06:58 AM PDT

If I remember correctly I once read that you could program "Media" as first choice when using the volume controls instead of the actual "Notifications". Does anyone know how to set this up?

Custom ROM, Magisk, Xposed, MicroG T813: Nougat or Oreo?

    Posted: 31 Jul 2018 11:15 PM PDT

    Hello all,

I recently got me a Tab S2 9.7, T813. I want to install a Custom ROM: At least Nougat, with Magisk, with XPosed, without GAPPS, with MicroG. This already runs well on my Oneplus One. I took Nougat because I already know the system from the OPO.

I have trouble finding good Nougat Custom ROMs, Resurrection Remix (also on OPO) would have been my favourite, but it does not boot. I took OMNI Nougat instead.

Using this combination (Magisk, Xposed, MicroG, not GPAPPS), should I go to Oreo instead, as there are more Custom ROMS?

    Color settings changing

    Posted: 31 Jul 2018 06:13 PM PDT

Hi r/Samsung, I have the UN55MU6290 and I've recently changed the picture color from warm2 to standard. Upon turning off my TV and turning it back on, the color changed back to warm2. I've also noticed that even if All Source (change settings for) is emabled, the settings don't always transfer over from source to app. Any input is much appreciated!

    10:08 On Gear s3

    Posted: 31 Jul 2018 10:54 AM PDT

Does anyone know why almost all the watch faces say 10:08 on them. All the watch faces that show seconds or have a seconds hand go further and display 10:08:32. The watch faces that display the day also have the the same day which is the 28th(although the day of the well it's different with some saying Tuesday, another Friday and all others say Saturday). Is the anything or special in this time and day?

Just upgraded to S9 from S7 and having some major separation anxiety. Please help me come around

    Posted: 31 Jul 2018 09:58 AM PDT

On my S7, I had "Privacy mode." A simple, unobtrusive swipe-down toggle that just worked. As simple and easy as toggling WiFi on/off. I am extremely frustrated with this feature's replacement, "Secure Folder." The reasons aren't very important, but from my perspective it was perfect on the S7, and didn't need to be meddled with. Does anyone know of a way to restore the old Privacy Mode, or another workaround?

I woke up this morning to find that Galaxy Essentials installed "My Emoji Maker" overnight. I can't uninstall this new bloat and I cannot find a toggle in Galaxy Essentials to block installation of crap like that. For now I've removed all permissions from Galaxy Essentials, and that seems to have stopped it from installing anything. What functionality have I removed from my phone by doing this? What better option do I have?

When I turn on location, I get a "Location consent" popup that I must agree to, with no option to "don't show this again." When I am toggling location on, it's frequently while driving, and doubling the number of clicks to do it is extremely irritating.

I was really hesitant about the removal of the hardkey navigation bar, but on the store's display model I managed to turn the navbar always-on and felt a little better. However it still disappears when playing games. This and the location thing aren't really a big deal, but it's irritating and it just seems absurd from a software perspective that I don't have the option.

The hardware on the phone is great, but some of these software changes are just unconscionable to me. Every phone I've owned before has had some features that I thought were crappy or bad, but I just disabled them as best I could and went about my business. This time is different because the features were fine on my S7, and I would have expected perfect functionality to have been left alone, but it hasn't. I was even looking into a root service last night to install a custom ROM before finding out that it's not reliably possible for this phone yet. Does anyone here have some less drastic suggestions?

    Thanks!

Moisture Detected notification even though it has been days since the phone has came in contact with water - S8 PLUS

    Posted: 31 Jul 2018 08:21 PM PDT

I keep getting the notification for moisture being detected when I know the port is completely dry, I am charging using a trick where if you restart with the charger in it will charge. But how do I get this notification to go away?? And is charging it like this bad for the battery??

OneRemote/Bixby on Samsung UHD TVs - does speech-to-text searching work on YouTube or Netflix?

    Posted: 31 Jul 2018 08:14 PM PDT

I'm contemplating buying a 8 series 4K TV and it has a OneRemote with Bixby. However, I'm only really interested in it so I can populate the "search" field field using voice-to-text in the YouTube and Netflix apps. I assumed it would work, however, I heard from a bad review that it will NOT work. Can I have some clarification please?

Battery size for 2019 S Flagship

    Posted: 31 Jul 2018 07:41 PM PDT

If the note 9 is getting a 4000 mAh battery, would you believe next year galaxy plus model will get a similar sized battery. I'm someone who is away from home the majority of the day and I'm really tempted to get the note 9 with its rumored incentives but the S10 with its fingerprint scanner placement is tempting me, so you think it's better to wait regardless?

    S8+ Crashes While Charging

    Posted: 31 Jul 2018 01:36 PM PDT

Multiple times, when I've been charging my phone and video calling at the same time, it has turned off for no reason, and vibrated when I tried to use the power button. If I try to restart it will crash again when it reaches the home screen. All I can do is keep restarting it until it ends up working, and putting it into safemode or anything doesn't help. I should also note that despite NEVER getting this phone into water (it's new, and actually my 3rd S8+ replacement after multiple unexplained hardware issues on my 2 other phones), it once came up with a notification saying that the charging port had moisture in it, and I also constantly got notifications saying that the charger was connected then disconnected.

Any ideas? Is it a software issue or a hardware issue like I feared?

    Gear VR 2016 compatibility

    Posted: 31 Jul 2018 03:10 PM PDT

I recently purchased a brand new Gear VR 2016 for a relatively low price, the box states it works with the S6 and Note7 and all the devices released between them.

Can the old Gear VR work with modern Samsung phones with Android 7.0?

(I tried it with a friend's Note5 and it worked well)

Sound distortion issues with Samsung Galaxy Tab S3

    Posted: 31 Jul 2018 02:51 PM PDT

I've owned a Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 since last year and have recently been having audio issues. I can't really say if it is an issue that has always been there or if it only started happening recently because it only happens with some apps that I only recently installed. Basically there is audio occasional audio distortion when I am using certain apps. It doesn't happen all the time, and I don't think it is a hardware issue because I can reproduce it using both the built in speaker, a bluetooth speaker and headphones.

I looked around online to find a solution and one place suggested that it may be the fault of an app that I installed and that I should try it on safe mode to see if it happens there. The only issue with that is that I don't have any issues with apps that are accessible with safe mode. Only ones that I downloaded, and even then only 3 of them. Before I start uninstalling apps and testing it out that way, does anyone have any suggestions? I already tried messing with the sound settings to decrease or increase treble/bass and vocal/instrumental but that didn't seem to have any effect.

    Need more hdmi ports

    Posted: 31 Jul 2018 01:31 PM PDT

Hey, i have a Samsung TV, but it only got 3 hdmi ports, and I want more. Is there any way I can get more without ruining the features? For example when I switch to my ps4, it will automatically turn on game mode. And I guess a hdmi switcher will ruin this. Any tips?
