Posted: 08 Aug 2018 12:56 PM PDT Hi all, I recently broke my OnePlus 5 and decided to order a OnePlus 6 to replace it, since I had a delightful year or so with my 5. I was kind of weary when I first ordered my 5 last year, I wasn't really sure what I was getting into, but the phone came in, I was absolutely pleased with everything about it - price point, performance, etc. There's some dead horse stuff to go on about - the sound distortion from recording was the main thing, but this isn't about the 5. It's about my experience with ordering the 6 that just came in today (I ordered Sunday evening!) First impressions are this phone is big, feels solid as hell, and looks so dang pretty, I can't take my eyes off it. This phone feels like a real upgrade from my old 5 (8 GB/128 GB), I opted for the same specs again, but this time in the Piano Black finish, unfortunately I won't be able to appreciate it too much since I already threw on the Karbon OnePlus case on it! I'm definitely going to enjoy this phone a lot much like the 5 I had before, and it feels like I'm reliving the experience again which is an added bonus - I'm like a little kid on Christmas morning, haha. I just had to express my excitement somehow, and I'm glad to continue the use of their products. Thanks! [link] [comments]

Posted: 08 Aug 2018 03:41 PM PDT As I watched it sail downward, I thought this is the end. Goodbye little buddy. After I climbed down the grain elevator and picked it up, I was wondering what the chaos looked like. Once I turned it over: nothing. Not a scratch. Here's to, hopefully, another year or so. Audiophiles and/or Oneplus6 owners, does this phone have any buzz/hissing when playing sound? Posted: 08 Aug 2018 02:37 PM PDT A bit of context: I've been wanting to buy a new phone for some time to finally ditch my faithful ipod classic 120gb in terms of portable music reproduction. I recently bought a phone from another brand that had a terrible "buzz" or "hissing" coming through both the inner speaker and headphones. This was very noticeable at low volumes (I like to listen to podcasts at night) and somewhat noticeable at mid volume. This was very frustrating and most definitely a deal breaker, so I just returned the phone and got a refund. Now, I've been looking into OnePlus6 and everything seems pretty good so I'm interested in buying it. My question to you is: does OnePlus6 have any kind of issue similar to what I am describing? Do you notice any anomalies in the audio using headphones (regardless of headphone type) ? Thank you [link] [comments]

Do referral points ever expire? Posted: 08 Aug 2018 12:08 PM PDT I'm saving up for a free phone, but I want to make sure they don't expire after say 1 year or something. I have the OP6 now so I won't need one for a while, but don't want to lose the points. [link] [comments]
My quick experience getting 4g lte working on ATT w/OP6 Posted: 08 Aug 2018 10:00 AM PDT So I tried most solutions with putting the sim card in another 4g lte ATT branded phone and back in. That didn't work. I tried different apn settings and that didn't work. I know it's possible because my OP3 had lte so in a last ditch effort I went to my local ATT corporate store. I told them the steps I went through and even talked about adding my imei to their database via ticket. Decided that was too much effort. At the end of all that I figured I might as well try getting a new nano sim card. Before that worked for my OP3 which they gave me for free. Update on that btw ATT charged my $5 for a new sim card but as soon as I got the new card it worked! No changes to anything else just a new sim card and I got 4g lte instantly. Just my quick experience your mileage may vary. Good luck everyone! [link] [comments]
Posted: 08 Aug 2018 05:18 AM PDT Any idea on when they are due to come back in stock? Not a fan of wireless but since they have good reviews be USB c charging so no extra cables, it may be a good fit. [link] [comments]
Posted: 08 Aug 2018 10:48 AM PDT In the US, I ordered red op6 a few days ago and it says it'll ship on August 16. But now red OP6's "ship immiedately," but mine isn't set for shipping yet! Should I cancel and re-order? I paid via Paypal, if that matters Edit: I called OP customer service. All they could do is "monitor my order," and couldn't explain why I wouldn't get my order before someone who ordered now. And most importantly, they could do nothing to make sure mine ships at least at the same time as shipment of someone who orders now, that's my beef. Edit2: My concern is that when they said Ships in 11 days when I ordered, they were going to ship to me from overseas, but now they've stocked their US facility and those are ready to go, but their system doesn't put people like me in front of the line, as we should be, since I ordered several days ago. I'm sure this has happened to others before in the US ordering OP phones. Should I cancel and re-order? Thanks. [link] [comments]

[OnePlus 6] How do I adjust the system and notification volume separately from other volumes? Posted: 08 Aug 2018 10:07 AM PDT EDIT: Title should say "system and notification volumes" I like to control them individually, but I don't see those settings. [link] [comments]
Invisible notification glitch on oneplus 5 Posted: 08 Aug 2018 08:59 AM PDT At seemingly random times my notifications start having a blank space between them. As soon as I try interacting with any notification they all become invisible. I'm sure they are invisible and not just cleared because of I click where the notification was it still opens the relevant app. Clearing the phone cache fixes this for ~12 hours but then it does the same again. Has anyone faced a problem like this? I'm using android 8.1.0 and oxygen 5.1.4 Its been happening since maybe 6 updates ago [link] [comments]

Long time iPhone user, my OnePlus 6 is being delivered today. Nervous. Posted: 08 Aug 2018 04:06 PM PDT I have the iPhone X and Was bored to death of it. Ordered the OnePlus 6 online in midnight black. Now my main concern is iMessage. Every time I switch to Android I struggle with messaging cause all my friends have iPhones and there's tons of group chats etc. I always end up missing group texts even after turning off iMessage. Would love the opinion of iPhone folks who bought the OnePlus 6 - how was the transition? And any any tips on how to have a good messaging experience on the OnePlus 6? I read the stock OnePlus messaging app wasn't that good either. Also, how's the camera? Is it a downgrade from the iPhone X? Seen so many opinions on it. Thank you [link] [comments]

Help: Can I Set the Messenger App to Show the Senders Name in Group Chats? Posted: 08 Aug 2018 03:45 PM PDT Moved over from a couple years on iOS.. I have a group chat that is working fine but the app doesn't show who the sender of the message is.. just the message. I can't find an option to remedy this. Can anyone help? [link] [comments]
Any using the OnePlus 6 at parties or concerts? Posted: 08 Aug 2018 11:39 AM PDT Hi, I'm about to buy the OnePlus 6! But I'm reading some issues with audio recording during videos at for instances parties or concerts. They say it distorts a lot. Anyone has some videos shot on the OnePlus 6 to let me hear the quality? Thanks in advance! [link] [comments]
Pink picture using GCamMod on OP5 front camera with flash Posted: 08 Aug 2018 12:01 AM PDT Hi all, I just realized that using the GCamMod on my OP5 when using the flash creates completely pink picture. Using the back camera, the flash created a pink hue but you could still see the picture, it just looked like a filter and I managed to get rid of it by playing with the settings. However, for the front cam, the image is completely pink just like hardware noise.. I tried playing with the settings but I'm a bit lost. Does any of you have a fix for that? Thanks :) Here is what it looks like [link] [comments]

Experiences with Android Pie on OP5T Posted: 07 Aug 2018 11:55 PM PDT Hi all, I wanted to make a post about the usability of Android 9 on the OP5T, for your reference and potential help in flashing/debugging. As of now, I have only had it for a few hours, I may update this as days go by. In order to run Android 9, I used erfanoabdi's semi-GSI port of the Pixel XL code. The xda thread can be found here. Pho3nX's post contains the fully ported GSI, as well as a lagfix. To install, do the following:
Ok, that's how to install it. But the question is, should you want to? When you first enter the OS, it will be very buggy, no Google apps will work right, there will be several persistent notifications, ect. For the persistent notifications (minus the device setup one), long pressing them, clicking the (i), and force stopping the app (a few times over the next minutes) will remove them. Do the same for the device setup notification once, then click the prompt to connect to WiFi and finish the setup. To fix most of the general bugginess and the Google services, install Google Play Services as an APK (probably need to use MTP to get it-Chrome won't work right away). After installing, Play Store will probably want to update it. After that, Google services should work. It is fairly stable. Play store crashes every now and then, and some animations are a little choppy, but I haven't found a feature that was broken. WiFi, Bluetooth, Location, Flashlight, ect all function without problem. I don't have access to voLTE from my carrier, so idk if it works. To get Digital Well being, all I had to do was install the app here. I haven't used long enough to judge battery life very well, but it seems alright, maybe a little worse than OxygenOS. I will update this if people want me too. The phone heated a little more than I'm used too during charging+using at the same time, but not very much. I'm very sorry if this post is out of place, too long, or doesn't follow guidelines. If you have any questions, or want me to check a feature or anything, just ask. Ill be using this port probably until a better one comes out (from phhusson?). I trust you all are smart enough to find the materials I've described. I will only provide more links if I'm feeling generous. This will be crossposted in r/Android. [link] [comments]

Bluetooth and WiFi issues with OnePlus 6? Posted: 08 Aug 2018 09:50 AM PDT I tried to see if anyone had any similar issues but I could not find anything. For about a week now, the WiFi and Bluetooth on my phone has not been working correctly. If I am connected to a WiFi network, it will just randomly disconnect and revert to using data, which is particularly annoying whenever I am watching videos or browsing Reddit because then I run out of data faster. For the Bluetooth, whenever I am connected to any Bluetooth device, it just randomly disconnects and turns off at times, and even if it doesn't randomly disconnect, then it often disconnects and turns off whenever I just turn on the screen. There is also some times where if the Bluetooth turns off, then the WiFi turns off as well. I've tried to: Restart my phone, charge my phone fully, leave my phone off for an extended period of time, connect to other Bluetooth devices, connect to other WiFi networks, and change my Bluetooth settings (codec, etc.) Another weird thing: Even if I have Bluetooth definitively off (I turn off Bluetooth and I restart, and I make sure Bluetooth isn't on), if I look at what my computer finds for Bluetooth devices, or if I use another phone, it will show that my phone is available as a Bluetooth device (even though my Bluetooth isn't on) tl;dr Bluetooth turns off randomly and when screen turns on, WiFi randomly disconnects and doesn't turn back on, Bluetooth is always on for some reason. Posted: 08 Aug 2018 09:49 AM PDT I had an OnePlus 1, and the 3, and the 3T. All rooted, except the last one. I wanted to use Google Pay, and didn't had time to install and tweak Magisk to mask root. So it was left unrooted, with the Open Beta. No need to root. But yesterday, I got robbed. 3 guys encircled me and took my 3T away when I was going to work. My data is secure: complicated pattern, fingerprint registered, no notifications on lock screen, everything backed up on the cloud. But the phone is gone, and I know I will never get it back. I registered the robbery at a police station, but I know they have lots of more important things to care about, so my phone is not their problem. I went to Find My Android, and as expected, robbers removed the Sim card in 20 minutes. Probably performed a factory reset on it, so my Avast Anti Theft is toast, Prey is toast. And that is my point: if I had root and installed an anti-theft as root, they would have to take another step to remove it. I don't have money to buy another OP. I saved for 6 months to buy the One, sold it to pay for the majority of the 3, and did the same to get a 3T. The resale value of an OnePlus is amazing. I paid around BRL 1700 on my 3T, new, and an used 3T today costs around BRL 1500. I will start saving again, perhaps when OP7 is release I will have saved enough. Until that, I will have to buy a Galaxy S3 or S4... [link] [comments]
