Laptop for college and gaming (I know, unique)

    Posted: 10 Aug 2018 12:29 AM PDT

    • Total budget and country of purchase: Good ole' US of A (USA). Would like to keep it bellow 1,000 though I'm willing to stretch a little for something better if need be. So <1,200 is preferable

    • Do you prefer a 2 in 1 form factor, good battery life or best specifications for the money? Pick or include any that apply. Best specs, and at least a decent battery life of 6 or so hours

    • How important is weight and thinness to you? Very important, as I'll be carrying this to business classes to work on excel and such. Would like to keep it at about or below 5 pounds. (Had an Alienware that near broke my back last semester...never again)

    • Which OS do you require? Windows, Mac, Chrome OS, Linux. Windows

    • Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A. 15" or below. Would like to try and be a little less flashy in classes.

    • Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run. Really just gaming outside of light Excel work and such. Games would be: Overwatch, League of Legends, Stellaris, ARK, Rising Storm 2.

    • If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want? The games specified above at at least 60 FPS on decent settings. I figure they're not too intensive, so hitting the 60 FPS threshold on high settings would be nice.

    • Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)? Would like a back-lit keyboard. Other than that, nothing fancy. Good ventilation/fans would be nice (preferably quiet for classes and the library)

    • Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion. Just a last preference, I've seen the Helios Predator and would like to avoid something with the name/flashy logo on the back. Really just a little more low key to blend in with the others and their exact same MacBooks.

I understand some of these are pretty specific requests, but thank you in advance for any and all input!

    Laptop for Engineering Student

    Posted: 09 Aug 2018 03:41 PM PDT

    hey guys

I'm looking to buy a laptop for my freshman year of college. I'm mainly looking for all the best things I can get for about $1500 maximum. I dont care about weight or thinness or even the screen size, but I dont really like really small screens. I'm gonna be running windows on it and most likely CAD programs like solidworks. I dont really care that much about gaming on it but that would be a plus.

my school gave me some requirements/suggestions: 3+ GHZ processor, minimum 8 GB ram, 2 TB hard drive and ssd's if possible, 1 GB graphics card (NVIDIA GeForce MX is what they suggest), at least 512mb set aside for video

I appreciate any and all help at this point because I have no idea where to even start looking.

Edit: removed part about desk top monitor suggestion

    Laptop for College (Mechanical Engineer)

    Posted: 09 Aug 2018 08:05 PM PDT

Total budget and country of purchase: Around $2,000, but higher if necessary. I live in the U.S.

Do you prefer a 2 in 1 form factor, good battery life or best specifications for the money? No preference on form, but regular laptop is probably more conventional. It should have some battery life, although I understand it is hard to find with powerful thinner models. I would rather have better quality and have it cost a little bit more. It doesn't need to be best money for specs (but it can be)

How important is weight and thinness to you? It should be thin and portable, under 5 pounds would be nice.

Which OS do you require? Windows, Mac, Chrome OS, Linux. Windows

Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A. 15 inches

Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? I will be using some solidworks, but I will not be making very complicated things. I will also do some light video editing and gaming for fun.

If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want? Not a huge concern, but light games at 1080 at 60 fps would be a nice perk.

Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)? Needs a good build quality that can last.

I will be a Mechanical Engineering student. I want this to be able to last a bit. A TB3 would be nice, along with a SD card reader. I also am undecided on 4K vs FHD. 4K looks great, but price and battery life are cons. This will be my first laptop, so I am not great at choosing a perfect choice. Some models that I am looking at are:

Not a huge fan of MSI, Gigabyte, or Razer at the moment, but If they have a great laptop that fits my needs, I would definitely look at it.

Thanks in advance for the help!!!

    Is there something with i7 8750h + 16GB + 1050 for <=1500€ (Europe)

    Posted: 10 Aug 2018 04:30 AM PDT

Hey there, I've been looking for quite some time to get a new laptop for Uni since I'm moving out and it'll be my main rig while I'm out. I need high CPU and RAM specs because I run some intensive software for audio production, also decent GPU cause I'll probably be doing some graphics work, and I also like to game from time to time. I also highly value mobility cause I'll be carrying it to uni back and forth.

I'm living in Spain but will be studying in Germany so I can order in either.

I've narrowed the search to three potential candidates plus a question mark:

    Model Pros Cons €€
MSI GS65 Specs, SICK design, mobility. Difficult upgradeability, price. 1959€ (drops to ~1500€ sometimes)
Gigabyte Aero 15x Even better specs, easy upgradeability. Price, arguably worst keyboard out of the selection. 2372€ (drops to ~1500€)
MSI PS42 Price, Lightweight, slick design, mobility. CPU U series and MX150 a bit short, difficult upgradeability. 1200€
Asus Zenbook UX550GE Specs on point, price. Apparently thermal issues, not out yet, price could change. 1400€ ??

So after a lot of research, I only found one that has i7 8750h and a 1050 for the desired price, and the seller is a bit shady, so I don't really trust the price. I could even sacrifice the 1050 for a MX150 if I were to have an i7 8750h, but 4 additional threads over the U series is just too juicy to miss.

And I know there are some MSI that meet my criteria but are usually too heavy or too large and I really like the GS65 design since it's a 15'' inch screen in a usually 14'' inch chassis. I guess unless you guys know some other laptop that meets my criteria, I'll just have to wait and get the first one to drop out of the first two of my list.

Laptop for gaming and programming for Software Engineering student, with Windows/Linux dual-boot, <1200$

    Posted: 10 Aug 2018 04:07 AM PDT

    * **Total budget and country of purchase:** Budget of 1000 euros aka 1200$. It can go a bit higher. I'm buying from France.

    * **Do you prefer a 2 in 1 form factor, good battery life or best specifications for the money? Pick or include any that apply.** Best specs for the money, eventually good battery life

    * **How important is weight and thinness to you?** If possible <2.5 kg, but it's okay if it weights more.

    * **Which OS do you require? Windows, Mac, Chrome OS, Linux.** Windows and Linux. This is quite important, I need the computer to have no issue with the dual-boot.

    * **Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A.** 15.6"

    * **Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run.** Mainly gaming and programming softwares like Visual Studio, PyCharm. Eventually some video editing, but it is not a criterion.

    * **If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want?** The Witcher 3, Diablo 3, Overwatch, Skyrim and other RPG

    * **Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)?** AZERTY keyboard, if possible a numeric keypad and good build quality in the sense that it's solid. An HDMI port is obvious, I think.

    * **Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion.**

I selected these laptops, but I prefer to have your reviews on them.

[1400€, Germany] Laptop for studying and light gaming.

    Posted: 10 Aug 2018 04:06 AM PDT

    * **Total budget and country of purchase:**

    About 1400 €, Germany

    * **Do you prefer a 2 in 1 form factor, good battery life or best specifications for the money? Pick or include any that apply.**

The laptop will be used mainly for studying. It would be nice if I could play WoW on it. A 2 in 1 form is nice too but not all that important. Good battery life is appreciated.

    * **How important is weight and thinness to you?**

As I want to take it to university almost every day, weight and thinness are pretty important.

    * **Which OS do you require? Windows, Mac, Chrome OS, Linux.**

    Windows

    * **Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A.**

    N/A

    * **Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run.**

Gaming isn't top priority but something like WoW, Civ and Diablo 3 would be nice. Other than that I don't really do video editing or anything like that.

    * **If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want?**

At least 60 fps at high preset would be nice (WoW and Civ 6, maybe something like Sc2 or Diablo 3)

    * **Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)?**

    Nothing in particular

    * **Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion.**

As is stated above, I want to use my Laptop for studying so good handling, reasonable weight and thinness, fast website load speed and a good battery life etc. is key. Everything else is a nice bonus but isn't top priority.

    Should i buy a T470s for ~$600?

    Posted: 10 Aug 2018 03:39 AM PDT

Hey, starting college soon and I think I need a laptop.

Looking at ThinkPad because I like their "function over form" sort of philosophy.

My question is if I could get away with buying a second hand, barely used with 2 years and 8 months left on warranty t470s instead of a brand new t480 for more than double the price?

    Tl;dr

Is it worth saving $700 on a T-series ThinkPad by going with a 7th gen i5 instead of an 8th gen one?

Laptop for University -- Germany this time

    Posted: 10 Aug 2018 03:04 AM PDT

    • Total budget and country of purchase: 900-1000€ Germany
    • Do you prefer a 2 in 1 form factor, good battery life or best specifications for the money? Pick or include any that apply. Specifications > Battery Life > 2 in 1 Form Factor
    • How important is weight and thinness to you? Not important.
    • Which OS do you require? Windows, Mac, Chrome OS, Linux. Windows OS
    • Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A. 13"-14"
    • Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run. I would like to run some video editing (e.g. Sony Vegas) and music editing software.
    • If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want? Most likely indie games without high requirements.
    • Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)? I would prefer a Laptop with a good keyboard, because I will write a lot on it. ( I know, get a external keyboard, but I just like it minimal.) And I would really love a Thunderbolt 3 for some future proofing and maybe plugging in an external graphics to improve editing.
    • Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion.

First of all : Thank you for helping me out !

Second: I probably do not need this much horsepower for my regular tasks and I don't know if it is understandable, but I just like to have some extra power. I just feel more secure, knowing I have power to fall back on.

    Thanks and cheers !

    Laptop for Programming/Linux

    Posted: 10 Aug 2018 02:07 AM PDT

    • Total budget and country of purchase: budget is 75,000 - 80,000 INR, in India

    • Do you prefer a 2 in 1 form factor, good battery life or best specifications for the money? Pick or include any that apply. Good battery life.

    • How important is weight and thinness to you? Very important, but im willing to compromise if it'll get me better specs, but I don't want a behemoth of a laptop. Max is maybe higher 1.x kg in terms of weight.

    • Which OS do you require? Windows, Mac, Chrome OS, Linux. Don't mind, going to erase anything that comes and install Linux but if i can save money and put the OS money into specs, the better.

    • Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A. 13 or 14 inch, but doesn't matter as long as the weight is low.

    • Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run. Nope. I might do slight Machine Learning work but I could always run it on cloud if needed.

    • If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want? Nope.

    • Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)? I prefer good input devices, display, battery, build quality. In that order.

    • Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion. XPS 13 is my ideal laptop but it's way out of budget, Thinkpad T480 as well. I thought of settling for either Ideapad 530s or zenbook UX430UN but the ideapad has a horrible display and the zenbook has horrible input devices.

    LapTop for Life

    Posted: 10 Aug 2018 01:32 AM PDT

    Hey,

I have a desktop beast with all the required parts to do 144FPS G-sync gaming bla bla bla.

A few years back I was in uni and while there i had a macbook pro 13 which i loved. It was strong enough to play some games on low/medium like dota2 looked nice, was light, durable and the battery was infinite. I am also a software developer and this machine was great for anything that I needed at the time.

Skip a few years. I sold it because it was getting old and got the 1st Razer Blade Stealth (cheapest model).I hated it - the plastic feel, the super slow performance. At this point I decided I dont want a lap top and a few more years passed.

I now want a lap top. For:

    - Ocasional gaming - mostly dota2 or some more basic things like Cult Simulator for example.

    - Ocasional development - mostly scripting

    - Very good battery life so that I don't bother charging it every day

    - Enough RAM to be able to run VMs because i do some side work as a pen-tester.

    - Id prefer if the lap top is smaller (less than 15")

So far I researched the options and what i saw was that in most cases the :

    - Dell XPS 13 / New Dell XPS 13

is the most recommended option. Also right at its back is the new:- Razer Blade Stealth

and from what I can see they both pretty much have the same specs and are at this point very nice builds and closer to a macbook pro.

On the other hand I noticed that there is a new boy in town:

    - Huawei MateBook X Pro

I do not want a macbook because i very much dislike the keyboard, touchbar and price of the newer models.

    ty.

Edit: added that i want it to be on the small side.

    • Which OS do you require? Windows, Mac, Chrome OS, Linux. Win10
    • Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A. At least 13 inches, maybe more if possible.
    • Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run. Maybe a little photo editing and a little casual gaming if I can squeeze the time in.
    • If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want? Honestly, I'll probably only play hearthstone on it. I don't need to play games on it, though.
    • Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)? I want good input devices, touchscreen. SSD + at least 4gb ram (pref 8)
    • Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion. I'm a social science major, so I likely won't be doing anything too demanding. I want something that'll get the job done and last a couple of years.

[Japan][¥600,000-1,000,000/$540-900] My work is mostly remote nowadays, looking for a more portable laptop

    Posted: 10 Aug 2018 12:22 AM PDT

    • Total budget and country of purchase: Japan - ¥600,000-1,000,000 ($540-900)
    • Do you prefer a 2 in 1 form factor, good battery life or best specifications for the money? Pick or include any that apply. Best specs for the money.
    • How important is weight and thinness to you? Very important, I'll be carrying it around a lot.
    • Which OS do you require? Windows, Mac, Chrome OS, Linux. I'll be install Ubuntu 18.04
    • Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A. 13-15"
    • Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run. Most of my CPU heavy and all of my GPU heavy work is run on Google Compute Engine instances, so I'll pretty much just be running a terminal and some text editors.
    • If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want? No real gaming planned.
    • Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)? I'm typing all day, so a good keyboard is necessary. A touchscreen is a nice touch, but I wouldn't consider it necessary. I'd really like if it had an Ethernet port, but again not absolutely necessary. A good WiFi card is a must.
    • Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion. As I said in the title, I'm looking for a portable, reliable laptop to do remote work on (I'm a programmer mostly working in AI). All my storage is in the cloud, so I'm fine with a small (128/256GB) SSD and no HDD. I was thinking of a mid range processor (i5) because any processing work I do on the laptop itself is going to be pretty light.

    Posted: 10 Aug 2018 12:20 AM PDT

    • How important is weight and thinness to you? Light enough to carry it in a bag to school, thickness does not matter
    • Which OS do you require? Windows, Mac, Chrome OS, Linux. Windows
    • Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A. 13-15
    • Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run. Light gaming and hours of internet browsing and I would use Microsoft Office quite often

    College Laptop/Desktop Pair

    Posted: 10 Aug 2018 12:17 AM PDT

    • Total budget and country of purchase:

Preferably under $500 ($600 if necessary), USA

    • Do you prefer a 2 in 1 form factor, good battery life or best specifications for the money? Pick or include any that apply.

Battery life would be helpful, specs-for-money secondary. No preference towards 2-in-1–it could be useful, but I have no strong feelings towards it.

    • How important is weight and thinness to you?

Somewhat, I'll be carrying it a lot.

    • Which OS do you require? Windows, Mac, Chrome OS, Linux.

Windows or Mac. The college also says this on its website:

Students, faculty and staff can order computers Apple and Lenovo computers for personal use at an academic discount.

    • Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A.

    N/A.

    • Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run.

No, but I'd consider the ability to do so an added bonus (if it comes without a significant price increase).

    • If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want?

    See above

    • Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)?

    N/A.

    • Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion.

I'm getting this laptop as a companion for a desktop PC that I will be building later this fall. The desktop will provide better specs for storage, processing, and gaming, while the laptop's portability allows it to be taken to class. As such, it doesn't need to be too impressive: it'll be for note-taking, writing, and research, and therefore needs word processing, Internet access, and not much else.

My college has also provided me with the following minimum and recommended specs. I am assuming it will be all right if these are met by the desktop and not the laptop, so meeting them is welcome but not required for the laptop. If this assumption is mistaken, please let me know.

Processor Min: Intel Core i5, Rec. Intel Core i7

    Storage Min: 320 GB @ 7200 RPM, Rec. 500 GB @ 7200 RPM

Memory Min: 4 GB, Rec. 8 GB

Screen Size Min. 13", Rec. 15"

    OS Min. Mac OS 10.9/Windows 7 32-bit, Rec. Mac OS 10.10 or 10.11/Windows 7 64-bit or later

[US][~$1300] Help with specs-- Well-built ultrabook, gaming and photoshop

    Posted: 09 Aug 2018 04:40 PM PDT

Despite my username I'm currently deciding between Lenovo Yoga 920, Huawei Matebook X Pro, Asus Zenbook Flip 14 UX461 (probably 461UN), Asus Zenbook 13 UX331UN and Asus Zenbook 14UX430UN (and maybe the HP Spectre x360? or Dell XPS 13? There's so many options...). I don't really know much about hardware so in terms of 16gb over 8gb of RAM is really necessary, or what integrated graphics can do I'm a bit lost. It is important to me to have something that's built well as I'm an engineering student who moves around a lot.

    • Total budget and country of purchase: ~1300 USD (up to ~$1200 is preferred though)
    • Do you prefer a 2 in 1 form factor, good battery life or best specifications for the money? Pick or include any that apply. Decent battery life and good specs. I've never had a 2 in 1, and I'm really not sure if these are actually that useful for students. Any advice?
    • How important is weight and thinness to you? Less than 3 lbs is ideal, up to 3.5 lbs is acceptable.
    • Which OS do you require? Windows, Mac, Chrome OS, Linux. Windows
    • Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A. 14' would be nice. At least around 13.3'.
    • Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run. Photoshop/Lightroom, LoL, Dota, Overwatch, Firewatch
    • If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want? See above, something that runs decently on med to med-low settings.
    • Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)? Touchscreen would be nice (not necessary though). This is where I guess I need the most help. For my needs I really don't know if models with the 16gb of RAM or i7 instead of i5 would be more beneficial by a significant amount? This will be my laptop for the next 5 years or so, so I want something that will be able to keep up with software that's released in that time span, but not sure what that translates to spec-wise.

Edit: Also forgot to mention an absolute deal-breaker for me is if the hinge is too wobbly. A little wobble (as is inevitable with many 2 in 1s, is ok though). I haven't been able to see many of these laptops in person, though, so if you have one, do comment please!

Gaming laptop for cousin finishing up his army duties

    Posted: 09 Aug 2018 11:46 PM PDT

    * **Total budget and country of purchase:**

    • $1100 and US

    * **Do you prefer a 2 in 1 form factor, good battery life or best specifications for the money? Pick or include any that apply.**

    • Graphics performance (Specifically GTA V, Counter Strike, etc...)
    • Excellent ventilation/cooling (Cousin lives in a desert)
    • decent storage for media
    • 4K Screen would be a plus

    * **How important is weight and thinness to you?**

    • can compromise on weight and thinness (within reason)

    * **Which OS do you require? Windows, Mac, Chrome OS, Linux.**

    • Windows
    • Possibly Linux

    * **Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A.**

    • 15"

      * **Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming?

    • Gaming

    • Education

List which programs/games you desire to run.**

    • GTA V

    • CounterStrike

    * **If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want?**

    • GTA V (>=30FPS)
    • CounterStrike (>=60FPS)

All day college class and games laptop

    Posted: 09 Aug 2018 07:53 PM PDT

    * **Total budget and country of purchase:**

    $3000 USA.

    * **Do you prefer a 2 in 1 form factor, good battery life or best specifications for the money? Pick or include any that apply.**

Good battery life is a must for college, but having the muscle for a game or two inbetween classes is also a plus.

    * **How important is weight and thinness to you?**

The lighter the better, but not so thin that overheating is an issue. Loud fans in class is not a fun experience.

    * **Which OS do you require? Windows, Mac, Chrome OS, Linux.**

Any/all of the above. I use Linux on a daily basis, and am comfortable working/gaming on any OS.

    * **Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A.**

14-15 is ideal. Anything with enough real estate to have a couple windows open at a time. 144hz is a big plus.

    * **Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run.**

Mainly computer science school work, gaming on the side/in boring classes. I'll most likely need to run a few virtual machines on the laptop as well.

    * **If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want?**

Definitely going to be running the new WoW expansion, preferably on medium-high at 60+ fps, depending on screen refresh rate.

    * **Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)?**

I might be in the minority, but I dislike the touch screen fad. A solid keyboard/trackpad is a must, I do a lot of coding. Metal body is a plus.

    * **Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion.**

I've been looking at all the typical laptops seen on the sub (Blade 15, Macbook Pro, XPS 15, Aero 15X, GS-65) and I'm looking for some opinions. The placement of the internals / QC of the Blade have me a bit worried, plus the ? key is in a dumb spot. The new Macbook Pro's thermal throttle like crazy, and the XPS 15 is right behind. The Aero 15X doesn't seem to have those issues, but I've heard the keyboard isn't the greatest. I have an old MSI GS-60 that gets a laughable 45 minutes on battery, and actually burned my leg a few years back, so that's put me off of them unless they've made some serious changes.

Nvidia optimus is definitely better for me than gsync, the extra battery life from not running GPU all day will definitely help out. The Macbook doesn't really concern me in that aspect, I know Apple handles that relatively well.

I also am really interested in the thunderbolt 3 capabilities of the modern devices. I'd like to in the future have a one cable solution to my setup; get home from class and one cable connects keyboard, mouse, displays, etc. If anyone has any experience in this area I'd love to hear about it as well.
