Unable to place an order from the samsung website Posted: 29 Jul 2018 07:44 AM PDT I'm trying to place an order for the Galaxy S9+ 64gb during the current promotion, but everytime I try to finalize the order, the website tells me that there is an "error during place order. Please try again another time." I've contacted their live chat support and Fouzia B did not help me at all. Yes, I mentioned his/her name because she/he didn't have a clue and didn't send me an email inwhich I was supposed to reply back with a screenshot of the problem. [link] [comments]
Posted: 29 Jul 2018 07:19 AM PDT Hi all, I'm in a bit of pickle atm, my dad bought my mum a samsung a5 from dubai about 6 months ago and now the charging port isn't working properly. I assume it's not the battery as it runs smoothly and is still fast and doesn't lose it's remaining charge quickly. Basically it has to be repaired with parts from the middle east (FML) and it's not possible to do it in the EU unless we attempt to go to one of those shady 2nd hand phone spots something neither of my parents want (where it's either a miracle or they ruin your phone). My parents have no plans to head to dubai any time soon so fixing the phone now is kinda out of the question and I'm trying to back up the contacts, photos etc but the usb cable won't recognise any connection (same issue as charging). I've tried doing the export/import contact function on the contacts app menu but that ,for some ridiculous reason, isn't on this phone. I'm currently backing up photos using my mum's google account but is there a surefire way to back up her contacts as this is obviously more important? Please any help would be grateful edit: she didn't make a samsung account in the phone I don't think if that is helpful information [link] [comments]
About to buy a Samsung s9+, can anyone help determine if it’s a clone? Posted: 29 Jul 2018 07:18 AM PDT There are a lot of scammers in my country and I'm wondering if this is a fake? Can anyone help determine that? http://imgur.com/a/MjbHtAm [link] [comments]
Note 8 owners, are you upgrading and why? Posted: 29 Jul 2018 06:59 AM PDT Switching from an iPhone 7Plus back to trusty Android next month. Waiting until after the 9 is released to see how much the 8 drops in price. My main reason for getting the note is I take a ton of notes at work (Microsoft OneNote) currently with my iPad 12.9 and want something smaller. I've read the rumors on the new S Pen but none of them really excite me. Those of you who currently have an 8. Are you going to upgrade to the 9? If so, why? Thanks! [link] [comments]
Help: Random numbers getting my group messages Posted: 29 Jul 2018 06:47 AM PDT I'm trying to figure out if this is a network or phone issue. I'm on an ongoing group text with various members of my family, and yesterday we started getting random numbers responding, I.e., a new number would reply to the entire group with something like, "who dis?" No one recognizes any of these numbers. I checked my message data for my wife and I, and neither log shows our messages going to these numbers for at least several weeks back - so I've more or less ruled our phones out at this point. Anyone seem to be having an issue like this? [link] [comments]

When taking off a screen protector, does it take the oleophobic coating off the screen? Posted: 29 Jul 2018 04:37 AM PDT I am thinking about buying a screen protector for my phone, but I'm not sure if when the screen protector breaks and I have to take it off, if the glue from the screen protector will take the coating off the display. Is it possible to connect the samsung gear sport to an external heartbeat monitor? Posted: 29 Jul 2018 04:35 AM PDT I find that the built in one is pretty inaccurate, it shows that my heartbeat is over 200bpm when I'm jogging at no more than 160bpm. My coach is telling me to get a new watch, but I really like the gear sport. Is there any way I could connect my old heartbeat monitor (the one that comes with a sigma sports pc 15.11) to my gear sport? Also, is there any way to see my km splits and average heartbeat? It only shows me the max heartbeat and the average pace. [link] [comments]
Posted: 28 Jul 2018 05:35 PM PDT If I get a watch and have my phone 300 yards away (out of BT range) but both have access to the same wifi signal, what can/can't I do with the watch? Do I need a sim in the watch? Would a Samsung watch work with a non-Samsung Android phone? Anything else a total noob would need to know? Thanks [link] [comments]
Posted: 29 Jul 2018 12:31 AM PDT I have the Snapdragon 845 model and I've noticed even with all apps closed, when I go to optimize my memory the most RAM I can have available is 2.5G. Is this normal? I find it odd that Oreo is using 3.5 gigs of RAM in the background. I disabled bixby but it made no difference. There are so many system apps I'm afraid to disable any of them. Any tips on getting memory usage down safely? [link] [comments]
Posted: 28 Jul 2018 10:35 PM PDT Couple of days back I bought a new Samsung Galaxy Tab S from samsung.com and paid for it using my Amex Credit card. The original transaction showed up in my bank account from "Digital River Pacific", and also was processed and posted properly. 2 Days later Digital River charges me again $89.99 (which was the price for 2 year warranty and was a;ready charged as part of the original purchase). Today, I suddenly get a "Fraud Alert" from Amex that Digital River is trying to charge $476.99 to my card. Both the $89/99 and $476.99 transactions are unauthorized, and it clearly shows that Digital River (or someone in that company) has stolen my card info and is trying to fraudulently charge my card. I am sure if the second transaction was not caught, the next transaction would have been even higher. Neither I know about Digital River, nor do I care about that company, but I do care and know about Samsung. Today I went ahead and learned about Digital River on the internet. They have a long history of defrauding people and you can find thousands of complaints against them in BBB or other complaint sites. From my point of view, it is not acceptable to have Digital River, a known fraud company associated and running payments for Samsung USA site. I will never buys from samsung site again for the same reason. Wanted to also share my experience here, hoping my experience helps other take their decision. [link] [comments]
Posted: 28 Jul 2018 10:35 AM PDT Has anyone experienced an issue with the latest OTA update for the S9+ failing and then their device being stuck in a boot loop? Both me and a friend of mine have had the same issue when installing the most recent update on our devices. Update starts installing, gets to about 28% and then errors out causing the device to be stuck in a constant boot loop. Currently on the phone to my network provider to see what they can do (fingers crossed for a replacement 🤞) [link] [comments]

How do I get rid of Samsung pay? Posted: 29 Jul 2018 01:48 AM PDT I have a galaxy a3 2017. I have never, nor will I ever, use Samsung pay. Since an update a few weeks ago there's this slider thing at the bottom of my home screen that opens the Samsung pay app, which is incredibly annoying because the same gesture also opens the app screen on my phone. I have tried everything to get rid of it: uninstalled updates, force stopped the app, blocked all notifications from the app, used a productivity app to block the app and notifications, and still that slider thing keeps reappearing after a few hours! So I just decided to give in and set up an account so I could disable the slider from within the app, but even that option is grayed out! I haven't added any bank cards, and I am not willing to give Samsung my freaking bank details so it will leave me alone! Does anyone have any advice on what else I can do? Either way, this is my first and last Samsung device. The bloatware is absolutely insane on this thing! [link] [comments]
Samsung galaxy tab A sm-t380 (nzsexar) stylus Posted: 28 Jul 2018 06:16 PM PDT I am wondering if anyone has tried out any adonit stylus or any other accurate stylus for the tab A. This is the non s pen version but it does have a capacitive display so I'm thinking it should be accurate with some of the adonit pens possibly the droid stylus by them. I'd like an opinion from someone maybe a student who uses the galaxy tab A for note taking. [link] [comments]
Phone plans offers S8 for free, S9 for $200. Which one do I go for? Posted: 28 Jul 2018 03:12 PM PDT Hi guys, I'm currently contemplating between getting a S8 or S9 ($199.99) with my company phone plan. I heard that the S9 is only a bit better than the S8 (even worse battery life in some cases) and was wondering if I should save the 200 bucks for later upgrades. Thanks [link] [comments]
Black screen and no sound on my un65ju6700 Posted: 28 Jul 2018 11:55 AM PDT TV was totally normal last night and have not noticed any dimming the past few days or weeks, it's looked like it always has. I turned it on this morning and the red power light blinked like it always does, however, the screen was black, and no sound. If I pushed the input or menu button it seemed to blink an almost dark grey flash on the screen for a second or two, and then right back to solid black. I tried shinning a flashlight on the TV after pushing the menu and input button but could not see anything from the various angles I tried. I've checked online and seems like every site has different answers. Has anyone had this happen to them? What was the fix? [link] [comments]
Posted: 28 Jul 2018 11:31 AM PDT I posted about this in the past, about how I had a phone that the charging port stopped working due to it falling off a table while charging, and if I could take the components out of the device and buy an adapter to hook it up to a PC via USB and extract my files out. And I was told that would be "chip off recovery" and it's very expensive. So that's not happening, The files are not majorly important, but it's of remodeling the house, and lots of snow etc. In theory, in afew years when the s6 is obsolete and very cheap (like <$50) could I open one up, switch boards and internal parts, and it work? Or is that not a viable option; or would I be locked out from security reasons? [link] [comments]
Posted: 28 Jul 2018 09:21 AM PDT My band on my Gear Fit 2 recently broke off and I looked into buying a new one and replacing mine, but there's one problem. My Fit has these two metal protrusions on one side that I can't find on another Fit. It's been like that since I purchased it. According to the band replacement video on Samsung's own site, there should be two sort of latches on either side. There's only one latch on my Fit. Here are two pictures: [link] [comments]
Samsung Premium NU8000 or Samsung QN65Q6F? Which to buy? Posted: 28 Jul 2018 09:05 AM PDT Title says it all. The prices aren't that far off so I am considering both of them. Is QLED much better than regular Premium UHD? My price range is $1500ish. What do you guys think? [link] [comments] |
