I recently bought a Fire tablet with the intention of using it for reading material and other media, just not Amazon's. I bought a 256GB SD card, but I can't get any apps to be able to write to it. They have permissions to read, modify, or delete contents of the sd card. The apps can do it, no problem with internal storage. The apps I'm trying it with are Wifi File Transfer and Syncthing. Is there a way to grant permissions or setup adoptable storage to this Fire tablet? [link] [comments]  |

| Problem connecting my ps4 controller Posted: 31 Jul 2018 06:29 PM PDT When I try to connect my ps4 to my phone via bluetooth I get the message: "Pairing failed, Incorrect pairing key or the device you want to pair with is configured incorrectly. Try again after viewing help." The "Help" feature doesn't really say anything about controllers. I tried restarting, clearing bluetooth cache and data. Anyone know a fix for this? | Downloading apps onto external hard drive Posted: 31 Jul 2018 08:35 PM PDT Device- Samsung Galaxy s5. Carrier- Sprint. I am currently trying to download a large app onto my phone. I do not have enough space on my phone but my micro sd card does. Is there a way to directly download onto my card. Also when attempting to download it offers a screen saying do you want to delete apps to make room? And if I click another large app that already is on my sd card it says that it has room which doesn't make sense. So is nothing going to my sd card in the first place? Yet I can only clean about 300 mb from storage. I got rid of all the photos and videos and there is still not enough space. https://imgur.com/a/WNTTfC8 So something is taking up a lot of space but if you add up all the things in 'storage' it doesn't even come close. I have a Fire HD 8 tablet and I've found some resources online that provide a guide for installing not only the Play Store but a more Android-looking launcher on this tablet. These point me to a number of APK files (Google Account Manager, Google Services Framework, Google Play Services, Google Play Store), but all of the links point to an outdated version. Do I need (or even want) the newest versions of these APKs? Thank you! Edit: Since it probably matters, it's a 7th Gen Fire HD 8 running Fire OS 5.6.2.0 Edit 2: I went with the recommended files from the article. Posted: 31 Jul 2018 07:23 PM PDT I have a Moto G4 Plus and it's factory charger, with TurboCharge tech; problem is that it is now taking multiple (probably 6) hours to reach a full charge. I tried using another original Moto Turbo Charger and ended up with the same results. Installed GSam to monitor the battery while charging: On average, it takes 225A, sometimes it goes to negative values, and it peaked at +825A. Is there anything I can do to solve this slow charge? Already tried deleting the Cache but it changed nothing. Is there any way to know if it's the port or the battery before sending it for repair? [link] [comments]  |

| Fastboot not working on MacOS High Sierra Posted: 31 Jul 2018 04:47 PM PDT I have a Moto G5S Plus and a MacBook Air. I would like to unlock it. I have done this on other Moto phones in the past, but on a Windows 10 PC. I have added the ADB and Fastboot tools to the terminal, but it does not detect my phone. I believe that the problem is the Motorola drivers will not install. Every time I try, the Motorola Device Manager does not show up in the applications folder, even though it shows a successful installation. The last compatible OS the download page says is 10.10 Yosemite. Is there a way I can get the drivers to work on this computer? Then, today, the 7th day of my new billing cycle, I check my Data Usage and Podcast Addict has used .75 GB so far all in the background. I have everything in the app set to Wi-Fi Only, but I guess that doesn't work Is there any way to actually restrict Background Data Usage? Thank you. [link] [comments]  |

Posted: 31 Jul 2018 07:05 AM PDT Just switched from an LG G4 to the Samsung S9+, and one of the things that's bothering me is the additional step of swiping the notification screen when accessing my device. FYI I'm old school and using a PIN code to unlock. LG: press power button, screen appears with notifications at the top, pin pad at the bottom. Samsung: press power button, screen appears with notifications, I swipe it away, then see the pin pad. Is there a way for me to skip the notifications only screen on the S9? I want to press the power button and go straight to the PIN pad. Ideally I'd like to see notifications on the same screen as the PIN pad, like on the G4 if possible. [link] [comments]  |

I'm not sure if this is a problem... but it it worked just fine for a few months If so, how did you fix it ? Have you been able to identify the issue with this card going corrupt? Is it the card's fault? the phone's fault? How to prevent it from happening again? My card corrupted for an unknown reason while in my Huawei Y7 phone and I'd like that to never happen again in case my phone doesn't backup properly (which in this case, it didn't and I almost lost lots of photos and videos from my travelling). I'm currently working on recovering the files. My mac couldn't see the files but thankfully my windows pc could without special software. I'm not sure why my windows could see the files but my mac couldn't. (anyone know why?) So if someone in the future sees this and their card is corrupt - try a different operating system, and try diskdigger for PC ( it has a free trial). I thought the capacity to add external storage to android phones would be a big pro but it's turning into a big PITA. [link] [comments]  |
