Android Gaming I'm sick of the play store

I'm sick of the play store

    Posted: 03 Jul 2018 01:24 PM PDT

Honestly, I have browsed the play store for years now, I keep seeing the same games over and over again, I get that sponsored games or big companies get a lead but I see NOTHING new.

I started checking out the new games or beta games tap out now too but the chance of finding a game you like in there is very slim while it doesnt update frequently.

A while back I found a game called dragonbolt vanguard which was really awesome and fun to play, but it got shut down. I live for discovering apps like those, solo developer, semi offline game (only online aspect is arena which is not real time), turn based strategy and gacha game with a decent community.

Where do I find these games, I'm sick of the playstore.

What games do you always install on a new device?

    Posted: 03 Jul 2018 11:46 AM PDT

I always like to install Polytopia when I get a new phone or do a factory reset. Was wondering what other "default games" redditors like to have.

Looking for a portrait mode game with few minutes gameplay but with long term progress

    Posted: 03 Jul 2018 08:51 PM PDT

I'll explain, I'm just looking for some game which lets you pull out your phone, play a quick session or two, and that's it. I just want it to have some progress like character development and such.

For example - Ridiculous Fishing is exactly something that answers all my needs, casual fun game, just dive into 5 minutes of fishing and that's it, but each session will get you closer to have better items and your progress is both in skill and development.

    Thanks!

Looking for the classic Bloons game where you pop balloons with darts. Maybe I just suck at googling. Any help?

    Posted: 03 Jul 2018 04:23 PM PDT

I used to love this game but I can't find anything like it on Android. Not looking for any tower defense games. Just looking to waste some time on the Pooper by playing Bloons.

    Thanks!

[Dev] [Android] Healing Touch is back! (No Ads, No IAP, etc.)

    Posted: 03 Jul 2018 11:05 AM PDT

    Hey everyone,

Since some of you might have noticed, I took down my game from the Google Play Store to avoid problems with the new EU Laws.

Now, I finally found the time to remove all SDKs from the game, which I considered to be questionable. At the same time, it allowed me to prepare the game for other platforms as well.

I am very happy to tell you that the game is finally back online.

Now I can finally use my time on some of the bigger in-game updates, which will be a lot of fun.

This new update uses a new balancing sheet as a reference, so I'd like to get your opinion on it.

The game can be downloaded here:

I want to thank everybody for playing my game so far. The game was already downloaded 3000 times and I couldn't be prouder.

Feedback regarding launching a new mobile game

    Posted: 03 Jul 2018 06:59 PM PDT

We're in the process of launching a new mobile game on Android and we're relatively new to the Android development community. Just thought we would come here and see if we could get a little community feedback from people with experience in doing this type of thing. We're considering some crowd funding options to help with the launch of the app. Does anyone have any suggestions on the dos and don'ts of going this route? Things that have worked and haven't worked? The app is already live on the Play Store so if anyone has any specific questions or wants to see the app, please let me know. I'm not trying to promote or market the app here so I don't want to get flagged for that. We're just looking for genuine feedback on things we should do (or not do) to help this launch successfully. We believe we have a quality app on our hands, just a matter of getting it out there for people to see and play. Thanks in advance for any help!

Is there any Sub for where people only talk about good paid offline games...

    Posted: 03 Jul 2018 08:28 PM PDT

This Sub is kinda a disappointing to me, most of the threads are related to gacha games or any new free to play games.

Almost this Sub never talks about good underrated paid games unless that game is made by very famous developers.

And many Free to pay multiplayer games have ruined this Sub also for example PUBG, first they where talking about clone and now they are talking about real game and it's also free to play games.

How do you enjoy this kinda games I don't get it, if developer releases free to play games than I immediately know that game is bad and not worth because developers itself doesn't have confidence in its own game.

I feel this Sub isn't what it use to be my place to find good well paid games now it's a sub about who has invites to next free to play games or how to to play this gacha games or what are good free to play games.

And worst of all most here recommends free to play games if someone ask what games they should play... Kinda disappointing., we complain about mobile games ruined by FTP but at the same time we are getting used to this kinda game...

Edit :- sorry for my English it is not my native language.

Tips on how to get cheats to work on GBA emulators?

    Posted: 03 Jul 2018 01:06 PM PDT

In my leisure, I thought it would be fun to replay Pokemon: Leaf Green, a game I beat several years ago, but this time by using all of the starters. My issue is that no matter how I try to enter in the two lines of the master cheat code, every emulator I've tried has told me the code was invalid.

Am I doing something wrong? 0000BE99000A 1003DAE60007 is the master code and it's the same across several websites. Ive used John GBA Emulator, GBA Emulator, and GBA+ Emulator (all free apps)

    Any thoughts?

    Games like PUBG Mobile

    Posted: 03 Jul 2018 03:58 PM PDT

To be clear, I'm not looking for PUBG alternatives. The game is almost unbeatable in its genre in my opinion. A huge attraction towards PUBG for me and my mates is the squad mode where we get to play together and communicate with mic. That's something we can't get enough of. It's a very immersive experience.

I was wondering, are there any other games that offer similar multiplayer modes? Doesn't have to be a shooter or could be one as long as it's different from PUBG.

Final Fantasy Tactics WotL seems to have broken.

    Posted: 03 Jul 2018 12:39 PM PDT

Hello all, I'm still making my way through this game for the first time since I was a kid, and it stopped working the other day.

We've never had cloud storage on android, but it still connected to something when launching. Well, now it just sits at the pre-splash screen.

I'm not the only one whose copy broke, anyone else out there hear anything about it?

Edit: this issue seems to have been fixed with play store update Thanks for the replies!

[Request] My personal unicorn - Turn-based RPG (coop/MMO) with depth

    Posted: 03 Jul 2018 11:58 AM PDT

I recently migrated from PC gaming to phone gaming, but I'm getting the itch for a good coop RPG experience. The problem is that I stink at controls on mobile, so I really need something turn-based or in some way allowing me to not have to try to use my fat fingers to guide the lil dudes & dudettes across my tiny screen.

I also really prefer playing with other people cooperatively ...so after lots of googling I've pretty much not come up with anything that meets my needs - hoping you can help and it's not a gap in the market, just me not seeing it.

So I'm reaching out to you - oh community of awesome /r/AndroidGaming! :) Halp!

Summary of what I'm looking for:

    • Turn-based/card-based - Need
    • Coop - Need (although I'm open to single player suggestions if you know awesome ones)
    • Pay Model - Flexible: I'm willing to pay for something good and while I am not 100\% anti-IAP, I'm not going to stay around in a P2win game that I need to spend $20+ a month just to be effective (looking at you, almost every popular F2Play multiplayer game on the market)
    • Asynchronous - Flexible: I'd love to find an Asynchronous turn-based Coop RPG, but I'm convinced they dont' exist at this point - prove me wrong?

2 games stuck at 50% and connecting screen - Galaxy S8

    Posted: 03 Jul 2018 12:06 PM PDT

I wouldn't have made this post since issues like this have been posted numerous times. However, I feel my situation is unique since most games on my phone work just fine. As my title states I have tried on and off wifi and know for certain I have excellent connections on my Galaxy S8. Brawl Stars and Final Fantasy Dimensions 2 do not work. Brawlers will stop working at 50% and goes to Connecting to Server where it just freezes. Dimensions 2 will not even load. I tap the icon and get FFD2 connecting.... and it freezes there. All other games like: Lords Mobile, PUBG Mobile, Puzzel Quest, Super Mario Run etc. work just fine. I have cleared game data, cache etc. reset my phone to no avail. I can also confirm the same games work just fine on my wife's S8.

[DEV] Android Gamers, what's your opinion on ads?

    Posted: 03 Jul 2018 10:23 AM PDT

Hello fellow Android Gamers, I am currently working on one game and before i decide to publish it i wanted to know what do you think about ads? From your perspective is it okay to put ads somewhere where they don't ruin your gaming experience?(after you die inside game, after finished level, or inside some menu etc..) And also have in mind my game would be free to download and it won't offer in-app purchases..

I hope its okay to post threads like this, if not mods can delete it.. Thank you in advance for feedback?

Going to be making a spreadsheet with game reviews - need opinions.

    Posted: 03 Jul 2018 01:04 PM PDT

As the title says I am going to make an online Excel document where you'd be able to submit game reviews, ratings etc and I'd update the excel sheet daily and maybe get a bunch of people doing it. I know it's a poor solution but it's better than nothing and you'd get real community reviews. What features would you want in it? Like seeing if the game has controller support etc.
