I dropped my un-cased one plus six while walking to work........

    Posted: 31 May 2018 07:48 PM PDT

    And it survived.

From chest height. Walking. Slipped out of my hand while messaging. Hit the pavement and skidded on the floor.

I have a tempered glass screen protector on the front. Naked on the back.

Just thought that people tend to post the second the screen, back or camera glass shatters but never post when it actually survives.

On OnePlus 5T, if you put your finger on the fingerprint reader while it is unlocked, your screen will freeze for half a second.

    Posted: 31 May 2018 05:13 PM PDT

I don't know if it is only on my device or if it happens in other devices. If you put your finger on the fingerprint reader whil your screen is unlocked (for example, if you are watching a youtube video), the screen will freeze for half a second. It is not an inconvenience, just something I found out.

Why is my OP5T starting to slow down?

    Posted: 31 May 2018 09:22 AM PDT

My OP5T is 6 months old. I made the switch from iPhone and have been hugely impressed. It's a 8GB RAM model so supposed to be super quick, I guess.

However, since a few weeks there's a very noticeable slowdown that is starting to take shape and it's annoying me somehow. My phone seems to have lost its "edge". There is 0.5-1 seconds slowdown when performing actions such as clicking the home button, opening apps, switching from one app to another, ticking in my Google search bar, bringing up the keyboard, face unlock, fingerprint unlock, you name it.

I can't seem to find many other OP5T owners with the same issue on the web. I've cleared the cache in options as well as in recovery mode and disabled animations in developer options. Nothing seems to help though.

Anyone an idea what could be causing this? I'd love for my phone to be snappy again. Slowdown is unavoidable at some point but not with 8GB RAM after 6 months.

    Silk White OP6

    Posted: 31 May 2018 04:56 PM PDT

Do you guys know how the release of the limited edition silk White one plus 6 will work? The site says 5 days, but does anyone know what time it releases in which time zone? Also, do you think it will sell out quickly or last a day or two in the store?

    Oneplus 6 Themes/Wallpapers

    Posted: 31 May 2018 11:19 AM PDT

Hi! I recently got my OP6, which is amazing and was customizing it a bit. I wondered if there were any wallpapers which incorporated the notch, akin to this one for the iPhone X, but suited for the OnePlus 6 Notch!

    Change H2Os to Oxygen OS

    Posted: 31 May 2018 08:00 PM PDT

Hey guys, I live in China and bought my OnePlus 2, 3 and now 6 here. With previous ones I was able to switch from Hydrogen to Oxygen reasonably easily, but with the 6 I seem to keep encountering errors.

If I boot into recovery there is no option to install from local, and then if I go to system update > local update in the settings it tells me my current build is higher than the version of oxygen I downloaded from the oneplus site.

    What can I do?

Am I the only one concerned about being able to toggle quick settings on the lock screen? [OP3T]

    Posted: 31 May 2018 01:37 PM PDT

A quick Google search shows that there's been a thread like this on the official OnePlus forums, but it got shut down pretty hard. I think it's a pretty blunt security flaw that you can toggle on/off wifi, mobile data, bluetooth and more without having to unlock the phone.

    Oneplus 6 - Adaptive Brightness (Y/N)

    Posted: 31 May 2018 03:20 PM PDT

So I've had the phone over a week now and I am starting to question...

Is it worth having the Adaptive Brightness switched on or not? Does it interfere with your display? Does it make a difference on battery life?

So far I have been using it and have no issues, however today I was trying to take test photos and found the Adaptive Brightness causing issues when trying to admire and compare image quality?

Could just be me being pedantic... Just looking to see people's thoughts.

OnePlus 6 bootlooping for anyone else?

    Posted: 31 May 2018 06:49 PM PDT

I just got my OnePlus 6 two days ago. Unlocked the bootloader in preparation for ROMs, didn't do anything else and used the phone happily yesterday.

Then this morning, I noticed that it rebooted itself. No biggie, I thought. I let it boot back to Android where, after a while it rebooted again! At this point I started to get worried, as it started to bootloop. I wiped cache, which didn't help, then wiped data, which didn't fix the issue either. My last hope is to fastboot flash the factory image, if that doesn't work I will have to send it in for warranty.

Did this happen to anyone else? Not an encouraging sign, this is my second OnePlus phone after the OP2.

Patiently awaiting the soft white version.

    Posted: 31 May 2018 06:42 PM PDT

Anyone else waiting for the soft white version? I could order today and get the black on Wednesday but I've been holding out for that sweet sweet rose gold. Any rumours about the quantity they're producing? Limited edition/small stock kinda thing?

    PSA: minimum width

    Posted: 31 May 2018 06:12 PM PDT

Bumping "Minimum Width" up to 500 let's you use some of that high res display. It is found user developer options. I think the default is too low.

    Question regarding rooting

    Posted: 31 May 2018 03:16 PM PDT

Hello everyone, I'm still a bit clueless when it comes to rooting and I would like to have some questions cleared up!

Currently for the oneplus6, as far as I can see, there are 2 ways to root. One way with Magisk (seems like a preferable way to me) and one with TWRP:

    https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-6/how-to/oneplus-6-magisk-root-oos-5-1-5-t3794440

    https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-6/how-to/oneplus-6-unlock-bootloader-flash-twrp-t3792643

Is there any difference between these options? Or am I just being silly and are they 2 completely different things?

Do I need a recovery image? Do I need TWRP?

I want to stay on the OxygenOS, because I quite like it so far! I'm not looking to using a custom ROM.

Also, would it be wise to unlock/root now, compared to waiting a couple of weeks down the line? As in stability updates or anything? Keep in mind I have zero experience with unlock/root. I do have experience jailbreaking on an old iPhone, and I remember the jailbreak patches getting better as time went on. Thank you!

Current Honor 8 user looking to make the switch to the OnePlus6.

    Posted: 31 May 2018 11:22 AM PDT

I bought two Honor 8s last fall (wife and I) after experiencing the dreaded Nexus 5x bootloop. I wanted a decent phone for a respectable price and a good camera; the Honor 8 has done well. Now, I want to upgrade to an OP6 and wanted to gain an understanding about the device and particularly its benefits over the Honor 8.

As a parent, my two major focuses when looking at a new phone are price and camera. I want a phone that is able to take great pictures at a moments notice. The nice thing about the Honor 8 is that it does pretty well outdoors. But, indoors/low light photos are not great. I have been able to get some great pictures of my kids on the fly, however, I do have to sometimes tap the screen to help the camera find focus. Needless to say, the 5x was even better and I was a bit disappointed with the Honor 8 in some environments. Which is why when the OP6 came out, I thought it looked pretty promising.

I have watched nearly a dozen of camera reviews with different comparisons with other phones; but nearly every shot is a still and doesn't mimic how I would use the camera. Does the OP6 have a fast autofocus? Are you able to take good pictures of moving objects? (Kids never sit still). What about different environments/lighting? There are some great looking low light shots with the OP6.

There is a lot to love about this device which is why I am leaning toward this over an S9, Pixel 2, or P20. I just don't want it to be a small step from the Honor 8. Sorry for the wall of text. Thanks in advance for your help.

TL:DR - Have an Honor 8, looking to upgrade to OP6. Want to know about the camera and shooting non-stationary objects in different light.

    Housing Replacement

    Posted: 31 May 2018 08:22 PM PDT

Hey guys a few days ago I posted about replacing my 3T screen or go through OnePlus. I've decided to replace the screen myself and getting the black housing for the 3T, I have the gun metal. Do you guys think that'll be a difficult replacement.? Or just stick with replacing the screen alone.? If anyone has any experience or not. You're opinion will be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Sorry for typos on mobile.

Please allow the 'App Locker' to lock entire folders.

    Posted: 31 May 2018 04:28 AM PDT

Hey! For some reason, I didn't have permission to post this on the forums.

I just got the OP6, and I was locking some apps with the 'App Locker' feature. I then realized that locking 10 different apps individually makes them annoying to open.

Therefore, I'd love a feature that allows me to lock that specific private folder, so that I only have to unlock that folder to get to my private apps.

People who ordered a OP6, did this happen to you?

    Posted: 31 May 2018 08:29 AM PDT

So I ordered my OnePlus 6 a week ago and it was supposed to arrive yesterday. The thing is that its being hold on a Post Office "By customer request" when I never requested anything. I contacted OP Support about this and they didn't do anything apart from telling me to contact USPS.

UPDATE: Just received it but the order still appears as held at Post Office "By customer request", so I don't know what it was. Thanks for everyone who tried to help.

    OnePlus 6 Screen Polarization

    Posted: 31 May 2018 06:36 AM PDT

I drove today for the first time with my new OnePlus 6 dash-mounted a few feet to my right in landscape mode. My polarized sunglasses reduced screen brightness by about half. In case it is relevant, the stock screen protector is still applied.

With a previous phone of mine I was able to overcome this by applying a tempered-glass screen protector which (I noticed fortunately and accidentally) scattered the polarization. FWIW it was branded Mr. Shield, although I am not purposely trying to shill for them, in fact they showed fingerprints like crazy.

*Is anyone aware of any screen protectors, stock OP or third-party, that would for certain eliminate polarization-induced sunglasses brightness reduction?*
