    Rollout has begun and many of Max 2 owners should be getting MIUI 9.5 via OTA.

    If you haven't and want to install it sooner rather than later, you can grab the update here (direct from Xiaomi's OTA server).

    After download, install via the About Phone -> System Update -> 3 dots menu on top right hand corner -> Choose update package, and select the downloaded file.

    Just updated yesterday, works quite well - liking the revamp notification system (closer to stock)!

    MIUI 9.5.4.0 Global - New Authorization & Revocation Menu

    Got the update yesterday on my Max 2, and noticed there is a new settings section called Authorization & Revocations, under Additional Settings.

    It looks like a menu where you can grant / deny Xiaomi's built-in apps permission to collect and store your data. Given the recent privacy concerns and climate, my guess is Xiaomi implemented this to comply with the upcoming GDPR so they can continue to do business in EU.

    In any case, it looks like an interesting feature and probably a win for user privacy. I've gone ahead and revoked everything but Updater, and will see how it goes.

    Anyone else tried the feature and have any thoughts? How did it work for you?

    Gmail keeps crashing and allow me to open

    Hi,

    I have a Redmi Note 4 Global Edition and I have been having issues with Gmail.

    I try to open it and it suddenly crashes. Been doing lately.

    I have the current stable MIUI and all apps are updated via Google play store.

    Any advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

    Update: Gmail app did not like Outlook email.

    Would Like to Downgrade Mi Mix from 9.2.1.0 miui to miui 8, how should I go about this?

    My mix battery life has been absymal ever since 9.2.1.0. I was wondering if it was possible to downgrade to miui8. If so, can I just backup all my apps with titanium backup? Also, does anyone know if downgrading will help battery at all? Will it delete my internal storage?

    Rapid battery drain on Mi5s since update to MIUI 9 China Dev 8.4.5

    My Mi5s is on MIUI China Dev. Since the first weekly update in April, the phone burns through the battery like wildfire. Only a quick charger can even charge the phone, the system burns more power than a non-quick charger provides.

    It's not a battery issue, the phone gets very warm when the screen is on without any heavy apps running. The battery is burned by the system (Android System and Google Services each consume one third of the battery, screen/network/GPS etc are all insignificant).

    Has anybody else noticed similar issues with recent MIUI updates? I really hope this will get resolved soon. I turned the phone off because I'm afraid it may fry the battery.

    My Mi Mix 2 is unable to detect my 5 GHz network after a reboot.

    Hi there,

    I have a big problem with my Xiaomi Mi Mix 2. At first setup the device picked up my 5 GHz network no problem. After one reboot though it's completely unable to find it anymore.

    I don't know what to do to fix this.

    EDIT: Figured it out, my apologies. For anyone who finds this. Set your channel to 36, mine was at channel 100 something.

    Mi A1 Sim card not detected after restart

    This has been happening ever since i got the phone and some other guys have also encountered this bug

    It's extremely frustrating when you're trying to do work and people ask why my phone is closed

    Is it a software bug? Can it be fixed with an update or something? Thanks

    Does anyone even use Mi Account and features like Mi Cloud? And are they worth using?

    Does anyone even uses things like Mi Account and Mi Cloud when there are much more reliable and much better alternative by Google. I don't think Xiaomi's service would sync across any Android device but I'm pretty sure Google's would.

    And are there any downside of using these services (I don't expect any but it's worth asking)?

    I successfully rooted my Xiaomi Mi5s once before but I suddenly lost access. I reinstalled SuperSU.zip through TWRP recovery many times and it's always successful, but never got the root access. Any help?

    MUI Mail version MIUI_V9_EMAIL_20171229_b2 on Mi Mix 2.

    When I search for an email from a sender, which is not currently synced to the device, it says "0 results in synced messages". There is no "search on server option", trying to scroll up or down to make it sync or search further does not help either. As this is perhaps the most basic operation a phone email client needs to peform, as you dont usually store you entire account on the phone, I assume the functionality should be there. But I can find no relevant setting to enable.

    For exchange mail, it works as expected, and shows a clickable text "Search mailbox on server" beneah the "0 results in synced messages" mesage.

    Missing feature? Bug? It's a GMX.com account, and searching works on stock email apps on Samsung and Sony phones as well as in K9mail.

    Redmi 5 Plus: how do I get Theme manager back (ROM upgrade from 9.2.0.2 to 9.5.3.0)?

    I bought a 5 plus from Aliexpress and it came with the 9.2.0.2 'fake' ROM.

    I've reflashed it and now I'm on the official 9.5.3.0 NEGMIFA ROM but I've lost the Theme Manager. Does anyone know how to get it back?
