Dear Samsung... Your Bixby sucks Posted: 25 Apr 2018 08:20 AM PDT A lot of companies try to force things on their users. It's like they feel their product is so good that they think everyone should enjoy it as much as they put in the work to develop it. Like when Google made every YouTube account require a Google plus page and an additional email address to log in with merged account issues and username of popular channels being changed over nite. A mistake that still plagues Android users today. By making the live broadcast features to those YouTube accounts impossible due to a glitch in authorizing an already authorized account. So now we get Samsung with their stupid Bixby button... Like you honestly feel like this was a good idea? So now when it's dark or I want to take a screenshot real quick I accidentally get Bixby to pop up. Let it not be said that I am not a fan of a company testing out new productss and new features. I was fine with it even though I thought it was completely forced on me and I've been a note user since the beginning. Back when people started asking me if my phone was a tablet lol.. Now so many of those people have that size phone. The note series was amazing. It has simply been my favorite phone for a long time and I have had every version so far. But upon hearing that you are continuing the Bixby nonsense I find myself not able to purchase anymore of your products. Forcing Bixby down my throat was the last straw. [link] [comments]
Posted: 25 Apr 2018 08:16 AM PDT How is this functional? Anyone know a workaround for this? I enjoy streaming Spotify off my Gear Fit 2 Pro while I excercise, and was hoping the Iconx would be a good addition to my workout setup - they're really great wireless earbuds otherwise [link] [comments]

You might want to use a Pixel Fixer on your AMOLED device from time to time Posted: 24 Apr 2018 02:49 PM PDT I own the S9 Plus international Exynoss version. I noticed that, although I don't use high brightness at all, I still got some very little image retention (barely visible to someone with proper vision) on the bottom of the device. Although I disabled the white software buttons on the bottom of the device since day 1, I seem to have gotten some very tiny image retention in time. I saw this by going in Chrome and closing all tabs, the grey in Chrome was perfect for noticing imperfections. I downloaded an app called "Pixel Fixer" and let it run for literally 1 minute with brightness cranked to 100%. After I went out of the app, the grey in Chrome was solid with 0 imperfections and that was 2 days ago, I still have the same solid grey color today, so it's not really "bs". Also, the image looks ever so slightly cleaner in general. I kinda feel like the device is freshly unboxed again. [link] [comments]
Galaxy S9 Keeps shutting off... Posted: 24 Apr 2018 10:06 PM PDT Had this phone since around launch and it's having a rather annoying issue now. When the screen goes dim the phone just shuts off... This just started happening randomly. No new apps or anything. I've tried doing a hard restart and running in safe mode. Soon as the screen goes dark and I don't actively use it will shut down. Anyone have any suggestions? [link] [comments]

Posted: 25 Apr 2018 12:53 AM PDT Hi, I have the gear sport, and recently tried out the built-in media player. All was going well until one song came out super low; anyone run into this before? Any way to have it volume sync songs? I was hoping to use it as my gym player, but with the quality lowered and the sound all over the place it's a bit off-putting Q_Q I appreciate any tricks [link] [comments]
How to make mobile data quick access on a Samsung Galaxy A8? Posted: 24 Apr 2018 08:43 PM PDT I recently got an A8 and when I swiped down from the top for the quick access bar I couldn't see an option for turning off mobile data. When I hit the three dots to see how to customize the bar, there's no option to add mobile data. Could someone help me figure this out? It's so much easier to use that instead of the settings. Any help is appreciated, thanks. [link] [comments]
A WP user's migration to android an an S9 Posted: 24 Apr 2018 04:06 PM PDT I posted this as a comment to someone who was switching over from an iPhone to an S9, potentially. These are mostly tips and app recommendations, with a small summary of the pros/cons at the bottom. Coming from a Windows phone to an S9, it wasn't too bad, but there was a lot of BS to fix at first. Be sure to go through Google privacy settings, notification settings, and be sure to disable anything that you can't uninstall (e.g. Facebook or Yelp plugins) Customization
Apps
Side notes:
Coming from WindowsPhone, the S9 has few surprises, but does everything pretty well. Downsides: The quality of apps will probably never be the same. The theming engine is a bit flimsy, file management is sub optimal, and notifications need to be severely beat into submission so they don't annoy you every 30 seconds. However, the phone is impressive! Upsides: It stays cool, has pretty good battery life, the screen is amazing, and the phone is fast and customizable. The camera is great, and the speakers are nuts. Pretty much the sleeper feature of the S9. Amazing sound. Having a camera button is great too, even if it is oddly placed. Facial and fingerprint unlock are wicked fast. Waterproofing is a great temporary feature, though I'm eventually going to make it a transparent back when the warranty expires. Overall, a solid device with a headphone jack and a standard connector. This is probably the best device you can get until we have a notchless Samsung or OnePlus device that doesn't remove the headphone jack! [link] [comments]
**Help:** Cant move photos off S5 Posted: 24 Apr 2018 08:32 PM PDT Hi team, I have an S5 that i have been having increasing problems with the storage on- mostly in regards to apps saying i dont have space to install even though there are literally gigabytes of free space to work with. Anybody encountered this before, help would be greatly appreciated. Transferring files seems to have been otherwise fine: music moves on and off with no troubles, photos that are in different folders because they were taken through apps moved with no trouble [link] [comments]
Quality of official Samsung repairs? Posted: 24 Apr 2018 12:20 PM PDT I dropped my phone and scratched up the frame somewhat. I think my credit card will cover the cost to repair it (ie: get the metal frame replaced). How's the quality of the official repair service that Samsung uses? Is it worth me taking the phone in to get repaired (ie: overall quality, and will my waterproof rating remain)? The phone is currently working fine, and I don't want this to cause more issues if I follow through with the repair. [link] [comments]
Posted: 24 Apr 2018 07:48 PM PDT Could anyone give all the information you have about project treble I know it's supported by the S9+ But is it really that big of a deal When will android P come to the S9+ As soon as the pixel3 ? Is it a gimmick? [link] [comments]

(Help) Note 8 Bluetooth Priority Levels Posted: 24 Apr 2018 04:21 PM PDT Hey all, sorry if the title doesn't make much sense but I wasn't sure how to word it. I have a Note 8 running 8.0, a Gear S2 and a Sena DWO-5 Bluetooth module in my helmet, and I'm having trouble with Google Assistant working correctly between them. My watch is typically always connected, so when I connect my helmet to my phone, Google Assistant won't activate. If I don't have my watch with me, Google Assistant works just fine. Are there any settings I can change that will allow Google Assistant to always work through my helmet regardless of what device connects to my phone first? Thanks! [link] [comments]
Posted: 24 Apr 2018 03:59 PM PDT So he broke the screen by throwing something. The actual plastic outside isn't broken, but the lcd panel underneath is damaged and there's a vertical stripe on the screen. We've just been living with it for now since the TV still 'okay' and for a 4-year-old it was good enough. But recently the set started turning itself off and/or restarted randomly. Maybe once an hour or two. Then as of today it simply doesn't turn on anymore. I can't imagine that this would have any relation with the LCD damage, as if you search for this issue there are loads of people having similar problems with their samsung TV's that have no LCD damage. But ideally I'd like Samsung to just replace the part that is causing it to not turn on. I don't need the LCD fixed or replaced. Are they going to look at the LCD issue and void the entire warranty?
