£350-£500, UK, I need a laptop for school and light gaming.

    Posted: 18 Apr 2018 12:04 AM PDT

    • Total budget and country of purchase: £350-£500

    • Do you prefer a 2 in 1 form factor, good battery life or best specifications for the money? Pick or include any that apply. I dont need an amazing battery, as I will mostly be doing light stuff stuff through the day. I don't need a 2 in 1. For the most part I want the best specs for the money

    • How important is weight and thinness to you? as long as it doesn't break my back I don't really care.

    • Which OS do you require? Windows, Mac, Chrome OS, Linux. windows, maybe linux

    • Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A. 720p or higher is fine

    • Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run. no.

    • If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want? Mostly lighter stuff, Civ, Hoi4, Hollow knight, I would like to play overwatch and fortnite, but that'll obviously depend on specs

    • Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)? needs to be able to take a bit of a battering, I use public transport a lot, so it will bump against stuff.

    • Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion. intel would be nice, but i'm also fine with amd. I don't want it to get too hot.

Friend needs a laptop for uni(basic usage).

    Posted: 17 Apr 2018 08:27 PM PDT

    • Total budget and country of purchase: Purchasing in Australia. MAx budget is $1500 but aiming betwen the $500 - $1000 mark(AUD).

    • Do you prefer a 2 in 1 form factor, good battery life or best specifications for the money? Pick or include any that apply. Best specs for money would be preferable, battery life isn't the most important but should be able to hold a decent charge for at least 4/5 hours.

    • How important is weight and thinness to you? Not too big, as she said she wanted smaller than her current ("regular size") laptop.

    • Which OS do you require? Windows, Mac, Chrome OS, Linux. Windows or mac does not phase her.

    • Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A. Smaller laptop than regular was requested.

    • Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run. Just basic computer usage for a student (no editing programs).

    • If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want? Not a gamer.

    • Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)? I want something reliable, with a quality display and a couple of USB ports. I don't need anything too fancy. (copied from another thread).

    • Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion. Told by friend she "wants something smaller" than her current laptop (which she says is "normal size"). Best if it runs smoothly without any lag. Cheers for any help!

EDIT Found out her current laptop is: Asus f555y

    Building a Gaming laptop

    Posted: 18 Apr 2018 03:52 AM PDT

First off I want to say if it is possible to build one or if I really can't and I have to buy one. I have to carry the computer all day so I need something with a long battery life. I like to play games such as overwatch, fortnite, titanfal l 2, and the dark souls series. My price range is around 800 but feel free to go up if you think it's worth the extra money. P.s. try not to go into the thousands.

US - $1000 to $1300 - Laptop to take to Japan for school and translation work

    Posted: 17 Apr 2018 11:41 PM PDT

    • Total budget and country of purchase: USA (Hawaii if that changes anything), $1000 - $1300. I am willing to be a little flexible on the price if it's like $1350 or whatever.

    • Do you prefer a 2 in 1 form factor, good battery life or best specifications for the money? Pick or include any that apply. Best specs - good battery life is a plus.

    • How important is weight and thinness to you? Pretty important. I want this thing to be portable.

    • Which OS do you require? Windows, Mac, Chrome OS, Linux. Windows

    • Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A. 13-14 inch

    • Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run. No, but I do subtitling on videos. (Specifically Aegisub)

    • If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want? Nah

    • Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)? Reliable build quality, good keyboard is a plus.

    • Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion. I am mostly going to be text editing and subtitling videos on this thing, with some python scripting every once in a while, so the reason I'm spending this kind of money is because I want this thing to be comfortable and last a long time. I plan to move around a lot with it, so I prefer something light.

A durable laptop for my wife, up to 12`-15`, budget unkown.

    Posted: 18 Apr 2018 03:16 AM PDT

    • Total budget and country of purchase: The price should be reasonable, but no budget limitations. In Germany.

    • Do you prefer a 2 in 1 form factor, good battery life or best specifications for the money? Pick or include any that apply. Don't need a tablet as already have one.

    • How important is weight and thinness to you? Mainly commuting by bicycle the weight and thickness are quite important.

    • Which OS do you require? Windows, Mac, Chrome OS, Linux. My wife is used with Windows, but doesn't mind switching to Mac. She doesn't like to spend time on customization and bug fixes.

    • Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A. Up to 15, I think. Her current laptop is 13 and it is enough

    • Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run. No, but my wife is a biologist and she may need (doesn't deal with it now, but who knows) to handle some large text files analysis.

    • If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want? N/A

    • Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)? Nothing specific, long battery life.

    • Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion. My wife's laptop is dying and she is looking for a new one. She uses it mainly for internet, skype, online movies and office jobs. Also she sometimes programs in Python. The main feature of the laptop is to last as long as possible (more than 3-4 years).

Thank you for your help in advance!

120/144 hz for gaming - Design for school

    Posted: 18 Apr 2018 02:41 AM PDT

Hi guys! So i've spent quite some time looking for a new laptop. I'm currently sitting on a lenovo yoga 3 pro 1370, which is very nice and ultra protable for school. Once i'm home though, i'd like to be able to pull out my pc and play a variety of games with my buds, however, my pc can only run very non-challenging games like csgo, and that's barely pushing 50 fps with the lowest resolution. I'm not looking to buy a desktop as i'm intending to sell my lenovo as i buy a new one. So, here are my requirements: Intel core i5 8th gen og i7 7th gen (or better) GTX 1060 (or better) 256 GB SSD (No HDD needed as i don't use up that much space) 120 hz/144 hz screen, preferably FHD. 15.6 inches or smaller And last, but certainly not least, i'd like reccomendations for pc's that doesn't look like something out of a sci-fi movie. I want to be able to take it with me to school, and i don't want to sit with my 5 kg, 17 inch alienware shooting lazers across the room. I've been looking at Gigabyte Aero 15X v8, MSI GS65 Stealth thin, dell xps 15, all because of their looks. If you have any recommendations or just wants to confirm the ones i've already be looking at, that'd be great. Thanks in advance!

US - Below 900$ - Super new to this, anything at all is appreciated!

    Posted: 18 Apr 2018 02:21 AM PDT

Hi! So I'm looking for a gaming laptop below 900$, preferably way lower if that's possible. Like I said I'm super new and coming from PS4. I basically know nothing of this stuff, so if you have tips or anything of the sort it would be much appreciated too.

Good battery life is a necessary for me, as I do long gaming sessions. Around 6-8 hours.

Weight and thinness doesn't really matter to me, it would be staying at home.

Windows probably what would work. But I don't know much so should I have something else?

A screen size bigger than 12 in is absolutely necessary.

Games I'm going to run would be games like Overwatch, For Honor, Rainbow 6 Siege, and Fortnite. The setting I would run for my games would be closer to the top.

Good keyboard please, and I don't know if this is important to say but I would use a mouse and headset with it.

If any more info is needed or questions feel free to ask! Thank you

Help me choose between the Dell G3 15 and G7 15.

    Posted: 17 Apr 2018 03:27 PM PDT

I'm looking for a laptop which I can both use to game modern titles (Fallout 4, Batman Arkham Knight, Nier: Automata, FFXV) with decent settings (medium settings, ~40-50 FPS) while also take to work in a professional setting and not have people stare at my "hardcore gaming machine".

The Dell G-series fits this bill, and I am interested in the Dell G3 15 and G7 15. Here is the link:

    G3: http://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/dell-laptops/new-dell-g3-15/spd/g-series-15-3579-laptop/dncwgf427s

    G7: http://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/dell-laptops/new-dell-g7-15/spd/g-series-15-7588-laptop/dncwfsb806s

    Here are the details:

    Model G3 15 G7 15
    Price $1100 (USD) $1200 (USD)
    Processor 8th Generation Intel® Core™ i7-8750H 8th Generation Intel® Core™ i7-8750H Processor (6-Core, 9MB Cache, up to 3.9GHz w/ Turbo Boost)
    RAM 16GB DDR4, 2666MHz 16GB, (2X8GB) DDR4, 2666MHz
Storage 256GB Solid State Drive (Boot) + 1TB 5400RPM Hard Drive (Storage) 256GB Solid State Drive (Boot) + 1TB 5400RPM Hard Drive (Storage)
    GPU NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1050 Ti with 4GB GDDR5 graphics memory NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1050 Ti with 4GB GDDR5 graphics memory

I really don't want to go beyond $1200 for a laptop. Again, I'm sure there are better gaming laptops at slightly lower prices, but I'm going to be taking it to work while coding, having conference calls, meetings, etc. so I need it to look professional too (which not too many gaming computers look the part).

As you can see, the specs for both the laptops is pretty much the same. So, what's different? Well, the G3 has a fingerprint sensor that the G7 doesn't, and I think this is pretty cool. So why is the G7 $100 more expensive? Well, I think it's just the build quality. I hear the G3 is completely plastic but G7 has some metal components on it. Also, I hear the G3 doesn't have as many vents for cooling as the G7 does, so if I keep gaming, the heat may eventually wear out the internals like the battery. Battery life is also important to me but both of them have the same 56Whr battery, and I don't know if either one uses its battery more efficiently.

I don't see any reviews for this yet. Any thoughts?

    US-$500-750-15.6 Haven't bought a laptop in 10+ yrs

    Posted: 17 Apr 2018 10:11 PM PDT

    • Total budget and country of purchase: USA budget is flexible would prefer 500-750 but could flex a little if the value is worth it.

    • Do you prefer a 2 in 1 form factor, good battery life or best specifications for the money? Pick or include any that apply. -fill

It would be nice to have all three but Preference is in this order, specs for money, battery life and if possible 2 in 1

    • How important is weight and thinness to you? Not very important

    • Which OS do you require? Windows, Mac, Chrome OS, Linux. Windows

    • Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A. 15.6 preferred

    • Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run. Light photo, video, and audio recording.....sorry I don't really know what programs I will want to use.

    • If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want? Solitaire would be nice default settings

    • Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)? I would like an optical drive, good backlit keyboard with number pad, I would like a metal body if possible but not that important

    • Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion. I haven't bought a computer in a while so I apologize for my lack of knowledge. I want this to be very fast for business use, good at multitasking, and for personal use would like to be able to use it for light audio recording, video and photo editing. Lastly I would like it to have above average speakers if possible.

College student debating between Surface Book 2, Lenovo Yoga 920, HP Spectre x360

    Posted: 17 Apr 2018 11:51 PM PDT

I'm having a lot of trouble deciding, so I'm just going to post the whole shebang here. Thanks!

    • Total budget and country of purchase: USA. Budget is $1200-1700, but very willing to dish out more for quality--this will be a laptop that I should be able to keep for a while (at least 4-5 years)

    • Do you prefer a 2 in 1 form factor, good battery life or best specifications for the money? Pick or include any that apply. Great battery life is an absolute must here, as I'm usually going around from class to class to work without the ability to charge until the end of the day. I'm looking for around 8-10 hours with web browsing and word processing.

    • How important is weight and thinness to you? Pretty important, but willing to sacrifice performance for slight extra thickness (as in the Surface Book 2)

    • Which OS do you require? Windows, Mac, Chrome OS, Linux. Windows

    • Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A. 13"ish

    • Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run. I'm an engineering student. I use CAD, do some light photo editing, and I do play some medium-heavy games.

    • If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want? I play a lot of Civ VI, and I'd like it to run at at least medium settings. Also a laptop that could run the Witcher 3 and some Assassin's Creed games would be great

    • Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)? Good keyboard is a must--I'm a programmer. Metal chassis is also a must, as is good build quality and reliability (this will be my main machine for a couple years). Also, I'm interested in the laptops in the title because I like the idea of being able to take notes with a stylus.

Edit: One last question: how would you rank the 3 in terms of battery life? Most reviews I've read come to the consensus that Surface Book 2 has the best, but I've seen wildly varying reviews for the HP and Lenovo. Thanks!

    USA: Gaming laptop $900-$1200

    Posted: 17 Apr 2018 11:49 PM PDT

    • Total budget and country of purchase: $900-$1200 in the USA

    • Do you prefer a 2 in 1 form factor, good battery life or best specifications for the money? Pick or include any that apply. I'm not too worried about battery life since I will have it plugged in most of the time, so best specifications for the money.

    • How important is weight and thinness to you? Doesn't really matter to me, preferably not too bulky, but in the end it doesn't matter.

    • Which OS do you require? Windows, Mac, Chrome OS, Linux. Windows

    • Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A. 15.6'' at a minimum, bigger is perfectly fine.

    • Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run. No editing or anything like that.

    • If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want? I mainly play maplestory, but I would like to be able to play most new games at 60fps on medium or high settings.

    • Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)? Reliable build quality takes priority, but if possible I would like a laptop with a keyboard layout like this, https://imgur.com/a/1OQrq because I'm used to the layout, but I have a hard time finding the layout on a laptop. I can always just plug in a keyboard to the laptop.

    • Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion. All and any help is very much appreciated!

Student in need of new laptop

    Posted: 17 Apr 2018 05:36 PM PDT

    • Total budget and country of purchase: My budget is decently flexible, but I want to stay below $500 if possible. Purchasing in the US.

    • Do you prefer a 2 in 1 form factor, good battery life or best specifications for the money? Pick or include any that apply. I'd prefer best specs for the money. Battery life has never been a huge issue for me, and I need something that will run well.

    • How important is weight and thinness to you? As a student, I'm going to carry it with me pretty frequently, so I'd prefer something that isn't too bulky or heavy.

    • Which OS do you require? Windows, Mac, Chrome OS, Linux. Open to suggestions, preferably not Chrome OS though.

    • Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A. N/A

    • Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run. I want to run Adobe CC programs, specifically InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Premiere.

    • If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want? N/A

    • Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)? I want something reliable, with a quality display and a couple of USB ports. I don't need anything too fancy.

    • Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion. I currently have an Asus Chromebook, which is great for what it is. I'm just looking to upgrade to something I can add programs to, because I'm getting to the point in my educational career that I need to be able to work from home instead of spending eternity in the computer labs at school. Looking for a budget laptop - AU$500 max

    Posted: 17 Apr 2018 11:09 PM PDT

    • Total budget and country of purchase: Australia (around max $500)

    • Do you prefer a 2 in 1 form factor, good battery life or best specifications for the money? Pick or include any that apply. Good, long battery life is the most important factor

    • How important is weight and thinness to you? not extremely important but would be nice to have it be light and thin

    • Which OS do you require? Windows, Mac, Chrome OS, Linux. I prefer Windows 10. Not sure about Chrome (if Chrome is Android that is fine too)

    • Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A. prefer 14" but will accept 11". any smaller and big Excel Spreadsheets or Access Databases get difficult to deal with.

    • Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run. not really. I may run small indy games, maybe even minecraft but that is not what I want the laptop for. The main program/s I want to run is the Office Suite. Excel, Word, Access.

    • If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want? gaming is not important

    • Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)? good keyboard, a decent size hDD (around 500gb). sd reader, 3+usb ports. do not care about touchscreen

    • Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion. I have a beefy gaming PC, and a Switch, so Gaming is not a consideration at all. It is for working with MS Office, whilst travelling, watching movies, listening to music, reading. Nothing strenuous.

    US - 17" - ~$3600 - High end 3D modeling/render machine

    Posted: 17 Apr 2018 11:06 PM PDT

    • Total budget and country of purchase: $3600, USA

    • Do you prefer a 2 in 1 form factor, good battery life or best specifications for the money? Pick or include any that apply.

    Best specifications for the money

    • How important is weight and thinness to you? Not important

    • Which OS do you require? Windows, Mac, Chrome OS, Linux. Windows

    • Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A.

3K+ (ideally 4K), but should look good at standard 1080p option, not blurry like some do.

    • Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run.

Yes, and this is my primary purpose! I need to be able to do CPU and GPU rendering on it without it overheating.

    *3DS Max

    *Vray renderer (CPU rendering)

*Octane renderer (Real time GPU rendering)

    *Unreal Engine

    *VR applications like Gravity Sketch

    *3D Coat

*Photoshop (huge files, 360 map work)

    *Rhino

    *Mandelbulb 3D

    • Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)?

*Good screen color, as I often do work for print. Ideally Adobe RGB 1998. I have been eying gaming laptops but don't trust them to have good color... also I don't care at all about G-sync and high frame rates, and don't want to pay for that if I don't have to. *I am looking only for a GTX gaming card, NOT Quadro.
*Ideally a body that isn't oddly shaped I dislike how Alienwares/MSIs/others come to a "point" on the front, as this is where I like to prop my graphics tablet. I'm afraid the point will create a fulcrum and make propping the tablet up on the machine unstable. Just a plain rectangular body would be great. *1TB SSD is a requirement for the C drive.
*Good cooling system (allowing a 10 hour render at 100% CPU usage is a requirement)

    • Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion.

I have been looking at gaming laptops in order to get a GTX 1080, but they seem to have a lot of bells and whistles for gamers I don't care about (G-sync, mechanical keyboard, RGB lighting, etc...) I don't want to pay for that stuff if I don't have to. At the same time, the ones marketed as business class workstations all seem to come with Quadro cards though, which I don't want either.

I don't care about looks. Good build quality would be nice, but I'm not moving it all the time so it's not a super high priority.

I'd really like to have 32 gigs of RAM.

I've been leaning towards a Clevo custom build.
I was looking at MSI but bad reviews on quality control are scaring me.

    Posted: 17 Apr 2018 04:31 PM PDT

    Hi all,

First off to meet the criteria of the forum. I live in the UK. My budget it 1200 max but with a hope to stay below 1000. I will be using the laptop for design, motion graphics, 3d and rendering. Software I'll be mainly using Adobe After effects, Photoshop, Cinema 4d, Octane render.

I have had a look at the XPS 15, but the wifi card is apparently poor. A decent CPU and GPU (nvidia for octane render) are needed for both forms of rendering, RAM at 16GB would be of great use. Light and mobile would defo be a plus but not a deal breaker.

Id love to know what you would suggest....Thanks 👍

    Posted: 17 Apr 2018 09:41 PM PDT

I am looking at getting a Dell Inspiron 15 7000 gaming with a 256gb ssd, gtx 1050 and 8gb of ram. Would this work well for on the go work and occasional Cad use? Is this laptop linux compatible? How long will the battery last and is there anything better at this price point? Thanks for any help!

[US] Fast Laptop for a Teacher ~750 but flexible

    Posted: 17 Apr 2018 09:29 PM PDT

    • Total budget and country of purchase: United States

Ideally <$750 but I am willing to spend more if needed.

    • Do you prefer a 2 in 1 form factor, good battery life or best specifications for the money? Pick or include any that apply. Good battery life. Best Specs for speed. No need for 2 in 1 but not a negative either.

    • How important is weight and thinness to you? Very important, her current laptop is heavier making conferences and switching rooms difficult.

    • Which OS do you require? Windows, Mac, Chrome OS, Linux. Windows

    • Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A. 13 inch ideally 15 inch might be overbudget

    • Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run. Mild photo touchup

    • If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want? N/A

    • Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)? N/A

    • Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion. Hi everyone! I am currently looking for a new laptop for my wife. She doesn't want to spend too much, but I am okay stretching it a bit. She is a high school Science Teacher. Her use cases include: Many documents open at once: Google Docs, Microsoft Office. Moderate to intensive web browsing: many tabs, netflix streaming. Occasional photo editing. I would prefer an SSD and I can store the photos and back them up on my desktop so even if the SSD is < 500 that is okay. She goes to conferences and works away from a desk a lot, so something portable and light is definitely ideal!

Thank you so much for your help!

Engineering Student in need of a laptop

    Posted: 17 Apr 2018 09:10 PM PDT

Total budget and country of purchase:* Looking to spend under $1000. Around $700-$800. Purchasing in the US.

Do you prefer a 2 in 1 form factor, good battery life or best specifications for the money? Pick or include any that apply.* I want the best specs possible for what I am spending. Also a good battery life would be nice since I'll be on the go with this laptop.

How important is weight and thinness to you?* I would prefer if its thin and light, but only if that's possible with the budget.

Which OS do you require? Windows, Mac, Chrome OS, Linux.* Windows.

Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A.* Smaller screen size the better. Would prefer 13 inches but if not, 15 inches works too.

Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run.* I plan on doing CAD work (AutoCAD, Solidworks, etc) along with coding (matlab). I am an engineering student.

If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want?* Most likely will not play games.

Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)?* As long as the build quality is nice and it has a nice display that should be fine. I also would prefer usb ports.

Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion.* An ssd would be ideal, assuming the budget can fit it. I know the budget might not be enough to get the perfect laptop right now, but whatever input you guys might have will help. Thank you!
