| Which device "upgrade" that made you want to go back to your old phone? Posted: 31 Mar 2018 06:38 AM PDT My one year old Oneplus One is perfect, battery life is still solid, camera still good, screen still gorgeous, has NFC but the USB C, metal frame and fingerprint scanner of the OnePlus 2 caught my attention. I foolishly sold my OnePlus One and upgrade to oneplus 2 which later i realised has slower charging speed, worse screen, overheating SD810, much worse battery life, plus no NFC. I'm not hating the OP2, it's just the OnePlus One is a better all around at what i want in a smartphone even though it's an older device. [link] [comments]  | ||

| PSA: EMUI can actually let you respond to notifications from the lock screen Posted: 31 Mar 2018 08:09 PM PDT I did some digging on my phone and it turns out it's a setting. Settings > Notifications and status bar > Notifications management > settings icon in top right > tap "when device is locked" > uncheck the box at the bottom. Granted I have emui 5.1 but I doubt they'd remove it on later versions. [link] [comments]  | ||
| Posted: 31 Mar 2018 09:18 PM PDT Saw this Cleaner come up on the home screen after yesterdays update. The cleaner was already there before but when I ran it before the update it never asked me to send any info to Cheetah Mobile. The new update seems to have put that info or maybe the previous cleaner was replaced with this Cheetah Cleaner. So why should we have a sketchy app from a sketchy company installed forcefully on our system which cannot be installed? I don't like this one bit. Edit: Added another screenshot of the privacy policy which links directly to CM Website. So its certain that it is Cheetah mobile Cleanmaster. The website only opens on a phone browser for me and not on desktop. Getting a 404 on desktop. [link] [comments]  | ||

I just came back from the store since I went there with my so to browse for phones because she's in need of one and I was amazed! After fiddling with the iPhone SE I told her to check out some other budget phones like the honor 8, p9 lite, xiaomi a1 etc and those phones were blazing fast and smooth. I have an iPhone 6s and it feels very slow compared to those. Have things changed so much since the Nexus 5X (my last android phone) or is this just speed that slows down later on? Genuinely asking because it feels like a totally different world compared to what I knew as Android. [link] [comments]  | ||
| [Guide] How to disable Peek Notifications on Android Oreo and P Posted: 31 Mar 2018 06:19 AM PDT Been doing a bunch of mobile gaming these last couple days and I noticed how annoying, intrusive and distracting the peek notifications are. Even during normal use I'm now annoyed by them. My phone vibrates and shows an icon on the top. I don't need a banner obstructing half my screen to notice that I got a message. Nougat had a switch to disable these notifications IIRC, but that was absent on my Pixel. So I did some digging and it's actually fairly straightforward to customize this behavior (if the devs did their homework and implemented the new notification management settings).
