What app are these S icons for?

So i have a Google Pixel 2 XL running Oreo 8.1, can someone help me out with my question?

    Posted: 15 Feb 2018 04:06 PM PST

My question is this (don't laugh, I'm being serious): I got a 1 week trial for pornhub premium, and whenever I download VR videos to my phone, they seem to disappear. Is it because I'm on a trial? Because my buddy has Pornhub premium and he has a ton of videos that he downloaded.

I'm not getting half of my text messages on my Galaxy s6 T mobile

    Posted: 15 Feb 2018 08:04 PM PST

No I did not switch from iPhone to Android, or any phone.

Yes, I'm not receiving texts from both iPhones and Android's

No, I have some storage left to spare and don't have a passive notification saying I have low storage.

I never get texts messages if the person texts me first out of nowhere, but if I text first and we have a constant convo it will hold up. When I send a text it doesn't send for a minute then shows up on my screen with the "sending..." At the bottom. 85% of the time I don't even get images they sent to my phone. I know all this because my girlfriend with an iPhone has to scree shot her side of the text app with her texts and or media sent asking me to compare just in case I left her on read or something, but ours don't match up and she's sent things that aren't even on my phone. Same worth my dad with an LG who I don't receive half his texts. It's inconsistent and hard and confusing to deal with and I hate to give the impression that I'm leaving people unresponded Because then that makes things awkward and hard.

Can my notification be expanded by default somehow?

    Posted: 15 Feb 2018 10:11 PM PST

I hate that in my Android notifications, I need to tap the little arrow to expand and show the entire text of the notification and to reveal options like "mark as read." Is there a way to have my notifications be expanded by default? Having them collapsed just requires more taps and takes more times. Plus, I constantly slip and go to the app giving me the notification instead of expanding the text, which is super annoying.

Adjusting the Lock Screen Swipe Momentum

    Posted: 15 Feb 2018 06:12 PM PST

I don't know why, but it is taking me 5-10 swipe attempts just to bring up my lock screen pattern. (I much enjoyed the pattern just being there all the time! I think that was a feature of Kitkat?) I'm currently on Nougat and it's obnoxious how the lock icon goes up and bounces right back down, no matter how hard or how fast or how far I swipe, until some magic combination works for it (it's not any of the extremes, it's somewhere in the middle...)

Can I eiħer make the lock screen pattern persist permanently on my lock screen, or can I the tolerance of the lock's momentum to bring up the pattern more easily?

My Xperia X charges super slow, but battery is draining normally?

    Posted: 15 Feb 2018 02:11 PM PST

Phone always takes 4 seconds to start charging, but once it starts charging it isnt loose or "going in and out of charging" at all. The battery drains completely fine, which leads me to the charging port, and it's strange how it isnt constantly disconnecting, it only takes some seconds to connect. I can't see anything in there, So i'm out of ideas here.. anyone got experience with this?

Title is basically my issue, I've tried with multiple of cords, different adapters, in 4 different locations that are completely apart from each other.

I've tried with phone off and phone in super stamina mode.

Note: it's very slow charge, maybe 8%every hour?

    Notification sound without vibration?

    Posted: 15 Feb 2018 11:41 AM PST

Is it possible on the Pixel 2/Android 8.1 to have your notification sound ON but vibrations OFF. I know I could go into the settings of each app and achieve this, but I'm looking for something that can be toggled on/off globally (similar to do not disturb mode). Third party app would be fine! Thanks!

Flashed LineageOS on Moto X Pure, am stuck on bootloop and can't enter recovery mode because the volume down button doesn't work. Is there anything I can do?

    Posted: 15 Feb 2018 09:02 PM PST

Basically what the title says. I used 'adb reboot recovery' to enter the recovery initially, then I flashed TWRP and installed Lineage from there. Now that it's stuck on the boot loop and I've tried pressing the power+down button to enter recovery but it obviously doesn't work (volume down button is physically broken). I can't 'adb reboot recovery' because it's still on the boot phase and isn't recognized by adb. Is there any other way to get into recovery?

Any way to hide contents of notifications even when phone is unlocked?

    Posted: 15 Feb 2018 08:56 PM PST

So android has a feature where you can hide the content of a notificaiton when the phone is locked. So for example if you get a Whatsapp message, the notification contains the message, but if the phone is locked it just says "Contents hidden".

Is there any way to do this even when the phone is unlocked? So i'll get a notification from the app (say whatsapp) that I have a new message, but can't see the message till I open the app?

    Thanks!

Gmail only notifying when viewed on Desktop.

    Posted: 15 Feb 2018 07:30 PM PST

    Hi guys,

Been having an issue with my phone (Honor 8 on Android 7/EMUI 5.0.1) the past week or two. Gmail doesn't seem to be syncing and notifying me of new emails until I either load up the app, or until I view it on the desktop.

I have sync turned on in the Gmail app, Gmail is allowed to use mobile data also.

Anything I can do to rectify this? I'm missing emails because of this.

    Background apps suddenly stopping

    Posted: 15 Feb 2018 07:18 PM PST

When I'm doing something on my phone, for example, I'm browsing and listening to music at the same time, or have a screen filter on, sometimes the apps just suddenly stop. The screen filter goes away and the music stops playing. And then I go to my homescreen and it has to load again. Or when I'm watching a YouTube video, I get out of the app for a second then open it again, everything loads again and the video goes back to the beggining. So annoying, it's like the phone just suddenly decides to load everything again. It's a Moto G4 Plus, btw. (Sorry if I have bad english, it isn't my first language.)

Instant dimming from any screen without leaving that app?

    Posted: 15 Feb 2018 06:23 PM PST

iOS has a neat feature where you can swipe up with any app running and access some settings, including dimming the screen.

Sometimes, I want to dim the screen without leaving the app I'm running. Is there a way to do this?

Disappearing contacts - is there any way I can get it back?

    Posted: 15 Feb 2018 12:00 PM PST

Contacts in my family relative phone has been disappearing. I'm almost certain they're not deleting the contacts by mistake. It disappeared on its own.

I've noticed that there is no contacts information on Google Contacts, I'm almost certain they were there when I migrated their data from old phone to new phone a month ago.

I've backed up their contacts in .vcf file whilst I try to fix this problem.

Is there some sort of history I can use to get their old contacts back? I don't think I've made any backup when I migrated their contacts from old phone to new phone.

Galaxy Note 8 - What Is Wrong With My Battery

    Posted: 15 Feb 2018 11:48 AM PST

Got the phone at launch and the battery was brilliant, 5 hours SOT no problems. But the last couple of months Google Play Services has been killing my battery. I've tried everything I could think, removing location permissions for all apps, disabling bloat, installed PDP to go that extra step further on apps that wouldn't allow it. Factory reset, cache wipe, I've done it all. Yet still, Play Services is ruining my phone, of the 10% I've lost so far in my 45 minuntes of being awake, Play Services accounts for 5% of that.

OnePlus 3T USB tethering problem "no internet access"

    Posted: 15 Feb 2018 08:57 AM PST

So the problem is that when I try connecting my phone (OnePlus 3T) with a USB to my PC and I activate the USB Internet Tethering on the computer it recognizes the connection but doesn't give me internet access. The internet on the phone works fine and the problem is also present if I try to use tethering wifi instead of USB.

    Battery Drain S7

    Posted: 15 Feb 2018 08:25 AM PST

Hi all, My S7 is less than a year old and I'm currently getting 3-4 hours of SoT or 15 hours standby with 2-3 hours SoT. I barely have any apps on my phone and I've deleted or disabled bloatware. I have only got notifications on apps I need them on and I have almost all apps on always sleeping. I have data saver on and battery saver is on too. I only have Facebook app installed because I hate the UI of the Facebook 3rd party apps. I have done a factory reset 2 days ago and I have turned on scheduled weekly cache resets, but it has done nothing.

    Is this normal?

    How can I improve it?

LG G5 phone does not have the "Network Operators" available in Settings

    Posted: 15 Feb 2018 01:17 PM PST

    Hi,

I have an LG G5 phone (Android Nougat) and I need to switch the mobile carrier while roaming.

The problem is that the "Network Operators" menu in settings is not visible even though that's where you can change the carrier based on the manual. I checked all the available options as well and I didn't find any option that allows changing the carrier.

    Any idea?
