My Huawei Sensa LTE Doesn't work on my school's wifi (SOMETIMES) Posted: 16 Feb 2018 05:00 PM PST I have a fairly un-fucked-with Huawei Sensa LTE running marshmallow and I go to school on two different campuses. But the school's wifi is the same at both locations at "school district PUBLIC* However, at the campus I go to in the mornings, the wifi works as intended but at the afternoon campus, my phone will "connect" but it refuses to fetch any data from the internet. Essentially turning my phone into a brick at my 2nd campus. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!!! [link] [comments] |
What is the best Android browser? Posted: 16 Feb 2018 06:21 PM PST (For reference, I use Android 5.1.1, and my phone chugs a bit from time to time) I'm looking for a browser that's private, but most importantly fast and lightweight. Does anyone have any suggestions? Edit: Adding onto that, is Brave any good? I'm thinking of trying it out. [link] [comments] |

Any SM-N910R4 users out there who could assist me with a brick? Posted: 16 Feb 2018 06:22 AM PST I was flashing a custom rom tar.md5 which I downloaded from the xda.com forums through the ODIN software on my PC but it seems like the flash failed with an "eMMC write Fail". The phone then turned off and won't turn on again, won't boot to recovery or download mode despite pulling the battery and replacing it. What can I do in this situation? Any assistance from the U.S. Cellular Samsung Galaxy Note 4 users would be appreciated. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 16 Feb 2018 03:58 PM PST Something weird has been happening with my S7 with AT&T. For the past few weeks I get a call from a random # with same area code. It's a genuine, normal person "returning my call". These people, I can tell, are just as confused as me. I have no phone call record of dialing out. And I legitimately haven't been calling. So why are people receiving calls from my #?? [link] [comments] |
Shared Google Calendar won't sync to Outlook for Android, all my searching says it should just work. Posted: 16 Feb 2018 06:05 PM PST So maybe my GoogleFu is just failing me, but I can't figure this out. I use my Galaxy S7 Edge for work and I've been getting more into Microsoft apps to tie in to my employer's Office 365 ecosystem. I want my personal google email and calendars integrated into the Outlook app so that I don't have to run a 2nd set of apps to do the same things for that account, but most importantly so I can see all of my calendars meshed together in one view. My wife's google calendar is shared with my google account, and I can see it next to my google calendar on 3 other calendar apps on my phone, but not in Outlook for Android. What am I missing? Posted: 16 Feb 2018 05:09 PM PST So, I recently added an work related exchange e-mail account to my phone. When I did so, I gave it permission to completely wipe my phone and SD card. Now, I regret my decision. I'd rather get in trouble for not checking e-mail then give someone the ability to wipe my phone. I've deleted the account, but I'm afraid that isn't good enough. Is there anything I can do? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 16 Feb 2018 08:16 PM PST Hi, I currently own a iPhone 5S and I need a new phone as this is getting old. I have waited until 2018 and I'm looking for my next and first android phone. Any recommendations for android flagships 2018? I am currently looking at the galaxy s9+ (to be unveiled Feb 25). I was planning on waiting for the Note 9 because I thought it would get a display embedded fingerprint scanner but new reports say otherwise. Any good android recommendations? Price isn't a problem. I'm looking for a solid and nice design as well as being solid performing (obviously). Is the galaxy s9+ a good android? Should I wait for something like a pixel 3. Any thoughts/recommendations appreciated. [link] [comments] |
Looking into a phone, and i need help comparing the The specs? Posted: 16 Feb 2018 07:49 PM PST Hello, i am looking into replacing my current phone (the ZTE Grand X Plus). Currently i am looking into the Huawei P10 Lite, but i cannot make much sense of the performance of some of the parts https://www.gsmarena.com/zte_grand_x_plus_z826-6904.php https://www.gsmarena.com/huawei_p10_lite-8598.php#was-l03t So far, it seems to be a Good phone, but i have questions about the Graphial capability of it. with the parts listed in the web pages, would you say that the Huawei P10 is Faster graphically than my current phone [link] [comments] |
My Andriod's clipboard didn't copy everything? Posted: 16 Feb 2018 07:49 PM PST So I was working on a short assignment on my phone. I decided to email it to myself, so I used CUT to copy the body text to my clip board (~2 short paragraphs), then made a second copy for the assignment name. However when I chose Paste from Clipboard, it only pasted the first 2 sentences... even though it clearly cut everything since my document is now blank. Did I just lose the past 40 minutes of work I was doing on my commute? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 16 Feb 2018 07:18 PM PST Currently I have a Galaxy S4 that (obviously) isn't working. When I plug the device in, it will sit and vibrate. No LEDs turn on, and the screen does nothing. The device vibrates periodically, every 4 seconds, sometimes it takes less or more. Any suggestions? [link] [comments] |
2 phones, cant see photos from old phone on google photos Posted: 16 Feb 2018 06:50 PM PST I have 2 phones, Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S8. S8 is active on verizon, S7 is wifi on, no verizon service. Both are signed into the same account, and both set to back up to google photos via wifi. However, I cannot see photos from the S7 on my S8 or PC. And I cant see any of my photos from my S8 on my S7. All the photos on my S7 look to be backed up on google photos, but aren't visible to my PC or S8. Edit: Nvm, needed to force kill the Photos app on my S7 and clear the data and cache, and then reopen the app. All is good now. [link] [comments] |
Unsupported SD Card Issue. Please Help. Posted: 16 Feb 2018 05:16 PM PST Thanks in advance. The problem is just as the title says. I am unable to see anything on my Sd card. It just shows the notification of "unsupported as card, this phone doesn't support this SD card." I have had this card for a while so I don't understand why it states that. My phone was working perfectly all day yesterday until I tried to take a picture. When I took a picture it saved to my internal storage and not my sd card. I opened up my gallery and all my files were there. Then I decided to restart my phone then all of a sudden I got that error message. What I've done: 1. Restarted the phone multiple times and played around inserting the sd card 2. Tried sd card on other device 3. Hooked it up to my pc using the usb cord 4. Used an sd card adapter on my Mac 5. Hooked phone using usb to mac None of these have worked! Specs: My phone is a Samsung s7 Sd card is a SanDisk 32gb Is there anything else i can do? I just want my files on there back!? I think my files could still be on there because they werw there b4 i restarted my phone but the sd card just won't get recognised. Please let me know of you need more info. Sorry if this is the wrong sub. Please direct me to right one of wrong. I just don't know what to do. [link] [comments] |
Restore TWRP backup of /data partition to a different model device? Posted: 16 Feb 2018 04:46 PM PST Hello, I have a Oneplus One whose screen seems to be on the verge of death. The screen is constantly artifacting and flickering and turning off so much it's basically unusable. I was able to make a backup of the /data partition using TWRP recently before this occurred and I managed to pull my music and photos and other important files using ADB. I already performed a screen repair on this phone a while ago (likely the cause of the current issue) and I think I'm going to just get a new phone, likely the Oneplus X. Now I'm wondering if the backup of my /data partition from my OPO will restore nicely on a different device. If not, is there any way I can make a backup of my apps on my OPO with only ADB and no root that will easily transfer to a different device? [link] [comments] |

Here's the spec documents from USB.org: http://www.usb.org/developers/docs/devclass_docs/ So it got me thinking, what kinds of USB audio devices are actually supported?

QR code not generating from Android s5 Posted: 16 Feb 2018 02:53 PM PST Hi there, I've made there move from iPhone to android and i love it so far. I've come across my first hurdle which i'm surprised by as QR codes are global. I cannot generate my QR code. It does not launch into the browser or send me an email with the code. I have tried four different QR code generators and I've looked online fo this issue. nothing.. a brick wall. so I'm asking for anyone whom else has had this issue and how they resolved it. I'm sure its some local security setting that needs to be turned OFF. I found a link on GitHub saying it's and issue that should be resolved by xxxx 2014. Any ideas folks? i ve rebooted i've installed 4 QR codes I've checked all the settings on the APP & Android. I'm stumped. Thanks [link] [comments] |
Posted: 16 Feb 2018 06:07 AM PST This just happened and has me fairly concerned with how weird it is... I have my phone sitting next to and got a notification that I received a text. As I was unlocking my phone, I noticed the text was from either a 4 or 5 digit number (looked like 3166 or something) and the message was a picture. The pictures was only a small preview in my notifications and he background of it was grey with pink, green, and yellow text written in it that I did not have time to make out. As I was unlocking my phone, the notification disappeared. I opened my text app and nothing is there, like the message didn't exist. It just seems really strange to me and I swear I'm not going mad! Anyone know what this could be? Oh, I have a Samsung S7 btw and the texting app is Google messenger. [link] [comments] |
What does the unlocked symbol mean when I boot up my phone? Posted: 16 Feb 2018 07:14 AM PST https://imgur.com/UAW1JvA I have not tried to root my phone before, and this is the first time that I'm seeing this. It's on android 5.1.1. Was my phone hacked or could it be because of a app i installed? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 16 Feb 2018 10:26 AM PST Hello everyone, good day! Looking for some help with our device, you see we have a Hwawei Mate 9 running on Android 7 where two weeks ago we tapped on a link from Facebook Messenger and it opened the browser to a random page filled with ads. From then on the Chrome browser redirected to ad sites, got a lot of notifications from Google of other devices trying to log in with the Google account linked to the cellphone and data usage spiked. Bad news. We uninstalled the Facebook messenger app and the redirects stopped, however since then we've noticed a degradation on the battery life of the device (so much as it awakens completely drained overnight) and yesterday while connecting it to the data network we got the "Our systems have detected unusual traffic from your computer network. Please try your request again later." message with the CAPTCHA box. It only happened once and this is the first time it has happened. We have also restored the Chrome browser to its initial state (cleared cache and data) and reinstalled. My question is, is the device still infected? We don't see any unrecognized apps, FB Messenger is gone, we installed ESET antivirus, then Malwarebytes and finally Avast on the phone and ran scans on all of them and came up with no infected apps/files. We may have to bite the bullet and perform a factory reset, but I'm also reading that some of these malwares survive this, would it be an effective way to get rid of the problem if it infected? Thanks! [link] [comments] |
Save route navigation for offline use? Posted: 16 Feb 2018 02:01 PM PST I've tried following the directions below (under "Save a route to see directions offline") in order to save a route's directions for offline use in Google Maps, but I don't see the "Save offline" option anywhere: https://support.google.com/maps/answer/144339 Anyone know how to do this? Best Way to Clean Inside Android Phone? Posted: 16 Feb 2018 01:02 PM PST I've had a Note 4 for about 3 years now (I think) and I opened the back of it to replace the battery the other day and there was literally stuff growing inside it. What's the best way to sanitize it without damaging it? Edit: Can I clean the inside with sanitizer wipes that are designed for the screen? Thanks in advance for answers. [link] [comments] |
Google photos face recognition not updating. Posted: 16 Feb 2018 12:42 PM PST I got a Pixel 2 a few weeks ago and put thousands of pictures from my old phone on it. It has recognised a few faces in the "people" album but only displays a small amount of pictures for each of them when I have dozens more easily identifiable photos of them. It hasn't added additional pictures even after reinstalling the app and turning off and on the facial recognition feature twice. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 16 Feb 2018 05:59 AM PST Pixel XL2 running stock android 8.1. Using the stock USB-C to Bose QC25, I am getting random intervals of 15-45 seconds of white noise. It sounds as if some app is trying to be opened. I have forced closed all apps and restarted the device. The only app I am running is Google play music listening to podcasts, but it also happens when no apps are running and after a fresh reboot. Is there a volume mixer or something else that I can use for troubleshooting the source of this sound? [link] [comments] |
