My Galaxy S7 has cracked back glass, do you think spraying the back with Flex Seal would be an efficient cheap fix? Posted: 21 Feb 2018 06:09 PM PST I always found it redundant that the back of the phone even has glass. I just replaced the thing and the back glass somehow cracked from inside a case and I just can't deal with phone repair places anymore. Could I just put masking tape on the camera and edges and spray that bitch with Flex Seal? submitted by /u/TitanicMan [link] [comments] |

Recently transfered an app folder, but... Posted: 21 Feb 2018 06:54 PM PST Hello, I transferred an app folder from Android 4.4 to another phone running Android 8.1. The newer Android decided that all the subfolders should be their own photo folders and created a bunch of device folders in the Photos app. Why? How can I group these folders into one folder with the app name? Thanks! submitted by /u/jtm297 [link] [comments] |

Asking for people that had or used the McAfee app Posted: 21 Feb 2018 04:20 PM PST Asking people who used or had this app. I know the app is free but there is a premium version on it but I don't really want to do it. There is also "Turn on security features" which I also don't want to do because it may slow down my phone. If I just use McAfee without any of those will I still be safe and will I get notified quickly if a malware or virus is on my phone? submitted by /u/AceSfRonaldo7 [link] [comments] |

Does enabling accessibility services in Android cause universal lag, or does it depend on the app? Posted: 21 Feb 2018 08:31 AM PST I hate the volume controls in Android, so I installed an app called "Media Control Only". It forces the volume control to media control at all times. However, I read that enabling accessibilty services can cause lag, but I haven't found an answer to my question: does enabling accessibilty cause system lag or does it depend which app it is? Also, is the app "Volume Control Only" trustable? It's Chinese I think, but Open Source. Wouldn't like to be spied on just for controlling the media volume. Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=catchpower.gogo.mediavolumeonly&hl=nl Last question: does Xposed still cause a universal system performance hit when using it with GravityBox? submitted by /u/growapairdude [link] [comments] |
Attempting to implement Android & OpenCV (unexplained build fail) Posted: 21 Feb 2018 03:27 PM PST EDIT: Fixed it. The Git-Clone didn't clone all files because the repo was over its datalimit. Ok, so I'm at my wits end here and would greatly appreciate a new perspective. I am attempting to implement this Android OpenCV, but am getting a build failure. I have it hosted here. The error is as follows: Error:A problem occurred configuring project ':android-opencv:opencv'. > java.lang.NullPointerException (no error message) I can't for the life of me figure out why. Google Play Music - Android Auto - FRUSTRATION! Posted: 21 Feb 2018 03:04 PM PST My original question was going to be how to stop the Google app from upgrading, however the just released version of Android Auto requires the latest version of Google. SIGH! I downgraded the Google app - which contains Assistant (I'm not sure what else... I turned off Auto Updates. This morning, the damn thing auto updated. It's downgraded and off for a reason. The new version of Assistant is very poor unless you subscribe to Google Play Music. It refuses to play songs that are stored on your phone. It refuses to play songs that are uploaded to your library. All it will do is tell you "Sorry, that song is only available to Google Play Music subscribers." Or if you tell it to for example "Play Disturbed", "Sure, check out this Disturbed radio station". Piss off, and play the music that's sitting on my phone! This is beyond infuriating. I love Android Auto but this is really pushing me towards buying an iPhone which I do NOT want for a large number of reasons. This bug (at least it was called a bug by a Google dev on a Groups posting) is obviously very low priority as it's been in play for 3+ months now. Any help would be appreciated. My phone is going to be bouncing down the road as I throw it out the damn window soon. I don't want to stream music from GPM. I want to listen to the thousands of files I have on my phone already. This used to work perfectly. I'm not adding to Googles billions just to play what's on my phone. That's ridiculous. submitted by /u/Smokezz [link] [comments] |
Can't use Android / Google Pay all of a sudden Posted: 21 Feb 2018 02:53 PM PST I tried using Android Pay yesterday before the update to Google Pay and it didn't work. I figured it was just the terminal, so I tried again after updating to Google Pay today. It scanned but I got a message that I couldn't use GPay on my device. I'm rooted with Magisk, but Magisk Hide has worked for me in the past with Android Pay. I'm also using the latest XPosed beta, so I fail SafetyNet. Magisk had an update today to 16.0 which installed successfully and it still didn't work. Is this because of XPosed, or is another Magisk update needed since GPay is so new? submitted by /u/nostradamefrus [link] [comments] |
I want to switch to Signal for texting and IM Posted: 21 Feb 2018 02:40 PM PST But MMS group chats are super annoying. You can't name them (like you can in Textra). This makes it a pain to find the right group chat, especially if you have one friend in multiple group chats. I've looked it up and I can't find if this will be getting fixed. Is there any chance it will? submitted by /u/32CORE [link] [comments] |

Does the Chrome app allow downloads to an external SD now? Posted: 21 Feb 2018 02:29 AM PST Basically what the tile says. From Feb 17th the files I download using Chrome go to my SD - which was the default file storage location before, but Chrome refused to use it. Is there a bug/problem with my internal memory or does that actually work now? It just seems weird they added that after so long. Thank you submitted by /u/RedFlame99 [link] [comments] |
