How to use normal Google search app as the assist app (the long home button press app)? Posted: 24 Feb 2018 01:21 PM PST The default one that's on my stock Android Oreo OS is too infuriating. You hold down the home button, start typing in the search bar and after 5 seconds it clears everything you wrote and lowers the keyboard so you have to tap the search box and type everything you already wrote for the second time. Posted: 24 Feb 2018 09:57 PM PST Should I remove Magisk first (I know it creates another partition which confuses me) or Should I just advanced wipe/format via TWRP and install magisk again and flash the custom Rom with gapps? Keep in mind that I want the previous Magisk to be removed completely because it's not updating on its own. I do not want to fix it, I just want it removed so that I can install newer version again before flashing the custom ROM. I'm using a Xiaomi Mi Max (Hydrogen) with LineageOS + stock gapps and want to move onto LineageOS + nano gapps. Thank you for your advice. [link] [comments] |

Android Auto keeps telling me to go to work Posted: 24 Feb 2018 10:47 AM PST Hey there, I know this is something that has been brought up multiple times in the past few years and I've done some research and tired everything I could find, but for some odd reason I just can't seem to fix my issue. Here's the issue I have: Android Auto keeps showing a card suggestion my previous workplace as the destination every time I open it. Sometimes it will even initiate an itinerary without asking me, and I'm just simply growing tired of seeing it every time I get in my car. Here's what I've tried to fix it:
No matter what I do, it is still here both on Android Auto on the phone and on SYNC when I connect my phone. Is there really no way to get rid of it? [link] [comments] |
Best phone with dual sim, 5 inch or less? Posted: 24 Feb 2018 07:05 PM PST Best phone with dual sim, 5 inch screen or less? Must have dual sim! Looking for top of the line phone, strongest processor, since I use a lot of apps. Will use in Thailand mostly, but can order from anywhere. [link] [comments] |
Best way to purchase S9 / S9+ for Verizon and have free wifi tethering? Posted: 24 Feb 2018 02:25 PM PST I'm still on a grandfathered unlimited data plan. I was disappointed when my Verizon S6 suddenly stopped working as a wifi hotspot via PDANet / FoxFi. Apparently, Verizon disabled it. I'd like to upgrade to a S6. Can I get some kind of unlocked S9 that will once again allow me to use it to tether a wifi hotspot? I realize I'll probably have to pay full price. What do you recommend? Thanks in advance. There is a way to recover files without root? Posted: 24 Feb 2018 12:40 PM PST Hello everyone, this is my first post here. I need some help, my girlfriend has a Moto X Play (We live in Brazil) and she accidentally deleted all her photos and vids, she has no backup of it. I tried to use apps to recover the files but without success, and all was storaged in the Internal Drive. Everywhere that I looked said that I need root to get these files, there is a way/app/software that I can get theses files back? Thanks in advance! :) [link] [comments] |
[op3t] make volume buttons volume by default instead of ringer Posted: 24 Feb 2018 01:25 PM PST How can I make my volume buttons actually change the volume of music instead of my ringer/notifications BEFORE I actually start the media? I want it to change my media volume by default (even when nothing is playing) instead of ringer. Is there an option somewhere or an app that can help me with this? Phone: OP3T. Os: Android 8.0.0 [link] [comments] |

Fully Free Alternative to Vysor for usb mirroring android Posted: 24 Feb 2018 09:18 PM PST Everyone keeps suggesting vysor for mirroring android to windows through Usb but i hate the stupid popups that show up on your phone when you use it. You can upgrade to pro but it's ridiculous to have to pay for that.. So any easy to setup usb mirroring for android to pc that is free(not freemium). [link] [comments] |

Okay, I'm just about done. Not even Verizon knows what's wrong. Posted: 24 Feb 2018 06:07 PM PST I'm just about at my breaking point of hucking my phone out the damn window, and breaking down to get a NEW phone number on a NEW account just so I can use the damn thing. This has been 4 days of stress and sadness, and it all happened on Tuesday morning. So, my girlfriend upgraded to her Galaxy S8. I got her old, S6, an awesome upgrade from my LG K8V. Just a heads up I am on a pre paid plan. So I swap the SIM card, and it works fine. However I can't make payments, verizon support told me I needed a new SIM card so they set me up with one. Then I try to make a call. Doesn't work, I get told my line has a restriction, and announcement 24. I can't make or recieve texts either, but internet works phone. I go to my local verizon store, 2 hours of troubleshooting and 2 more SIM card changes, no progress. At this point, the guy on the phone (because the in store assistant had to call tech support), says he really has no idea why my phone isn't working. The only texts I can receive are test texts from technicians, that's it. He tells me that maybe it's the area I'm in and my phone needs 24 to 48 hours to adjust. I know this is bullshit but I go with it. They pay my next months phone bill for inconvenience, and I'm still without a fully functional phone. 48 hours pass. My phone still doesn't work. I go into the Verizon store, and my in store tech agan has no idea what's wrong, I talk to customer support. 45 more minutes, I'm nowhere. It is now Saturday, 5:35 PM. I'm defeated. I don't know. This is almost going to make me cry. Help. I beg of you. I'm literally praying to god to fix this. [link] [comments] |
Phone has many problems! HELP? Posted: 24 Feb 2018 06:00 PM PST Phone is on bootloop, systemui is crashing. Recovery mode doesnt work, wipedata says formattingfailed devblock. Which is the best music player on android Posted: 24 Feb 2018 02:49 AM PST Please dont say play music, coz that app is the worst. I like the old htc stock music player. Sadly they discontinued it. Had lyrics support and all that. It even had artist photo retrieval. The best feature was its clean look.. Yes, you could say I'm looking for htc stock music player alternative. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 24 Feb 2018 05:03 PM PST I looked up a couple posts, all had the same directions as this one. https://android.gadgethacks.com/how-to/enable-hidden-grayscale-mode-your-pixel-nexus-no-root-needed-0178857/ The problem is that there is no tab called build number and there doesn't seem to be a way to turn on developer mode. Is my only choice a third party app? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 24 Feb 2018 04:31 PM PST Title says it all basically. Even by deleting apps, the RAM and storage is still decreasing. I even optimise my device multiple times a day, but nothing works. Any solutions for this? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 24 Feb 2018 12:21 PM PST I can't install anything other than apps from the app store but other than that nothing. I can't download zips, apk, nothing that isn't related to the play store, if I want to download a theme to an app that IS in the app store it still doesn't work. This problem started happening when I wiped Dalvik, System, Data, Internal Storage, Cache and then installed RR (not oreo) and I didn't restore from any backup Edit: Also I downloaded the rom and gapps zips to the sdcard but after download I can only see a Twrp Folder and nothing else Even when I try to update magisk it gives me a error Device: Nexus 5 [link] [comments] |
Delete Inactive Phone On Device Manager Posted: 24 Feb 2018 09:33 AM PST I got a new phone but my old one is still listed even after I factory reset it. I did an insurance replacement so there's no way for me to turn back the old device on to erase it in the app. Is there another way of doing this? It's annoying asking Google to find my phone cuz she's all like, 'I found a few phones' but I only have one. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 24 Feb 2018 02:49 PM PST Hey all, last night my lg g5 suddenly stopped getting reception from tmobile, i went to the store and they said that the sim reader itself was messed up. Any suggestions? EDIT Turns out that factory resetting the phone fixed it for me, so if you have the same problem try that. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 24 Feb 2018 02:34 PM PST Been wondering if anyone has been able to use a Z2 Force from sprint on GSM carriers; and if they know how I could actually get the UICC unlock reissued. Sprint Care has been unhelpful and even adversarial. Just want to unlock the phone properly but the sim is inactive and I can't get an account. Thanks /r/Android. [link] [comments] |
Question about Android Auto autolaunch behavior Posted: 24 Feb 2018 12:19 PM PST On a Pixel 2, but was also an issue on my Nexus 5 (if I recall correctly)... Connecting to a generic Amazon Bluetooth-to-3.5 car stereo adapter. I've noticed that AA will autolaunch when starting my car, whether it not it even connects to the Bluetooth adapter. For instance, if I already have my BT phones on. Which suggests that it's not launching based on connection to the adapter, but rather simply seeing it as an available BT device. Is this intended behavior and if so, can it be adjusted? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 24 Feb 2018 12:09 PM PST Frequently, I'll have a call where I promise to do something - pickup the milk, setup an email account - whatever. It would be real handy if there was an app that would prompt me to create a to-do associated with the caller that was linked to tasks or calendar. Anyone know of an app that would help with this? I have a Samsung S7 [link] [comments] |
N4 shuts of at 11% - previously exposed to cold conditions Posted: 24 Feb 2018 12:07 PM PST Have a refurb N4. I was out in the cold today for most of the morning with temps at around 3-5 degrees. This evening my phone died at 11%. Turned off, no warning. Is this a sign of a failing battery or as a result of exposure to the cold? Someone with me said their phone died at 17% in the cold but in the morning rather than in the evening. Any ideas? [link] [comments] |
When in sleep mode my screen still drains battery Posted: 24 Feb 2018 08:04 AM PST Last week I got my Zenpad tablet back after it got sent in for repair with an issue where the screen would stop working. Since its been back I have noticed that it losses its charge a lot faster. I used to be able to go a full day with heavy use. Last night it was about about 50 percent when I went to bed, woke up and it was totally drained 6 hours later. Looked at the battery usage and it says my screen is responsible for the vast majority of drain but it has been in sleep mode that whole time. Not sure hat is going on. Its like the tablet is losing power as if I have had the screen just staying on at all times. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 24 Feb 2018 11:48 AM PST Ok. So, total noob here. Last time I tried rooting and installing a new ROM to something was the original Samsung Galaxy phone back in like...2009 or 2010 or something. I haven't done shit in the that respect since then. I now have a plain old tablet. Samsung Galaxy Tab A 7". It isn't a cellular tab (TMobile, AT&T, etc). It's just a simple tablet of it's own. I've gotten the thing rooted with ODIN. Now I'm trying to look for a custom ROM to put on it to hopefully make the tablet ... better. The frustrating thing is that I cant figure out what limitations I have. Do I need a ROM designed specifically for the Samsung Galaxy Tab A? If so, can it be any ROM for the Tab A or do I need one that isn't designed for a cellular tablet? This entire field has moved on without me since I did this last and I feel very lost. Even XDA is confusing as shit. ...help. [link] [comments] |
