I know a few people were looking for a post-apocalyptic base building game and here's a good one i've found - Last Shelter: Survival

    Posted: 18 Feb 2018 03:56 PM PST

Its quite good for what it is - i think its still in some beta

but its basically you build a base and then send out units to raid etc.

you also have to manage food, oil and water.

i've been playing it for two days

there are IAP but it doesnt seem to slow the game play down yet i'm on level 6. the IAP are for jewels - and a few buildings which just do things a little bit faster - like i said i've played it for two days and it doesnt seem to be a requirement for spending.

Testing 2 more telescoping gamepads that look promising.

    Posted: 18 Feb 2018 12:06 PM PST

Been absent for a while, as I fell down the iOS gaming crack for the last few months with Street fighter IV Champion edition eating up a good chunk of my mobile gaming time. I've regained interest in my note 8 since the Oreo RC and decided to start delving into gamepad solutions again. Some of you know I've invested in a stupid amount of sub par gamepads looking for this very specific and elusive PSP style form factor.

I've purchased the S8/Note 8 version of the gamevice, which is my current go to on both iphone X and ipad pro 12.9. Not the best DPad, but pretty good analogs with small-moderate deadzones. For the price, I expected more, but its the best option on iOS. Im hoping the android versions with the L3/R3 addition will be a bit better in the deadzone department (different joysticks could mean much better or much worse quality). The dpad is actually easily fixable with a little hot glue, but we'll see what they did on this unit. I've noticed every gamevice device seems to be completely different. At 59$ now instead of 99$ I don't mind sinking some cash in to see if it works.

There also appears to be a new bounabay clone/successor in town: https://www.amazon.com/Docooler-Portable-Controller-Stretchable-Smartphones/dp/B0791G19YD/ref=pd_day0_147_9?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B0791G19YD&pd_rd_r=YC84VK5T93T4PET0T7YM&pd_rd_w=RUDAh&pd_rd_wg=aGJlF&psc=1&refRID=YC84VK5T93T4PET0T7YM

This is looking quite promising. The Analogs look longer than the ones on the bounabay, which had the smallest deadzones on any sticks I've tested on android short of the Xbox 360 controller. IT adds l3/r3, and appears to generally be a decent upgrade. The bounabay had very poor analog resolution unfortunately (its only other weakness, lacking r3/l3 being the first), and im hoping the different joysticks used here fix that. For 25$ its worth the risk.

If anyone is actually interested in helping me with this quest, has some feedback or suggestions, or is frankly just interested in the end results, let me know here. Ill hopefully have some "findings" by friday, and hopefully positives!

    Weapon Throwing RPG 2

    Posted: 18 Feb 2018 08:32 PM PST

I've started playing this, I already reached world 7. My gem purchases are XP Ring and Merchant Bunny (To acquire more gems overtime). Now, from what I heard I should get Training Pendant, but that blocks me out from getting more gems.

Are there other gem items I need, or should I just get the Training Pendant and stop buying gem items? Or should I get other specific gem items before getting the Training Pendant? Not sure what I should be doing.

EDIT: Also, is there a way to gain gems faster, besides buying/installing games for it? Like, does luck affect gem acquisition?

World Zombie Contest - does anyone have information/tips?

    Posted: 18 Feb 2018 04:45 AM PST

    Hey!

I started WZC recently and it's really fun. First of all, the link to the game:
    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobirix.zombie&hl=de

So far i already started over once because i wasted too much candy ("special" currency besides gold) on buying and selling inventions.
I was at a stage where progress and candy income slowed down and then i needed 5000 candy for that merging machine.

    My discoveries/tips so far:
Upgrade Lobby to lvl 10, this should do for a while.
Production Capacity to lvl 7, this saves up 10 zombies in the machine. I think you can spend less here if you want.
Stage 2 Merge lvl 5, very important. It gives a 5% chance to get a 1 lvl higher zombie when merging. Up to lvl 5 it costs 200 candy each, after that 600. I will wait until later for that.
Inventions: the only really good one (or "must have") i've seen so far is the Stage 2 Merge Expert which i wanted badly and spent too much candy, but so far never got it :D
In case of your zombies i suggest always have 2-3 of your 4 highest zombies. It doesn't help much if you combine all your zombies to e.g. a lvl 10 one and then you have only him. You want many zombies because they don't have HP but an attack count.
Always lvl up the 4 highest zombies first. The lower ones aren't that important imho (at least where i was).
Lvl up combat research for money whenever you can.
Auto Merge and Auto Production is good later i guess when it isn't so annoying anymore to lock/unlock your zombies.

That's it so far. What i'm interested in:
Overall what experiences/tips do you have?
    Is "Overclock!" worth it?
At what point is it ok to invest your candy in inventions? And what inventions do you think are good?

I hope it doesn't get too slow later, the list of zombies is very long and thinking that you need millions of them at one point to merge a good one...:/
