| Someone stole my unactivated phone, what can they do with it? Posted: 05 Jan 2018 03:02 PM PST So I ordered a Pixel 2 XL through Google Fi and it arrived today. I live at an apartment and packages are delivered to a package closet/mailroom (that residents/staff/mail delivery peeps have access to). So after work I went to get my package, only to find that the package was opened! I have talked to staff and they said they'd take a look at the security feed from the cameras to figure out who did it. In the mean time, I was wondering if there was anything the thief could do that could potentially hurt my account/credit etc. The phone isn't activated and being on Fi it uses eSim, so I presume they'd need to sign in with my Google account, so I think I'm safe there. Also, what other steps should I be taking? Police report? Contact FedEx? [link] [comments]  |

Posted: 05 Jan 2018 07:41 PM PST Is there a way to download them on your phone so that it'll be available for offline viewing since the Twitch app doesn't have a way to skip forward the videos so it get pretty cumbersome drag the timeline since most of these can be hours and hours long hence even a little bump will make the video jump forward hours. | How to play an uploaded/downloaded music playlist on Play Music via voice Posted: 05 Jan 2018 06:35 PM PST I use a helmet headset when I ride my motorcycle and would like a way to activate my music over the headset. The set connects to the Google Assistant on the phone and I have a GPM playlist called 'Drive'. When I ask "Play my Drive playlist" it says "OK, telling Play Music to play Drive" then it opens a random streaming radio station with a 'driving' theme. I was reading articles that say others are having issues getting specific songs to play but specifically that playlists did work using the above command. Renaming my playlist only causes the assistant to search Google or fail at the music app. I don't have the option to interact with the screen AT ALL since it is in my pocket and I cannot reach it or interact with gloves on. Oddly certain artists do work but others do not. Also annoyingly disabling streaming causes GPM to attempt playing a radio station then throwing an error that it cannot stream. I am not necessarily married to GPM, though it is nice to have the music cloud stored because I don't have tons of space on my phone. Also open to a different assistant if that helps, as long as I can trigger it via the headset (it uses a button to trigger the on phone assistant via bluetooth). [link] [comments]  |
| Migration from lineageos to "lineageos for microg" failed Posted: 05 Jan 2018 11:56 AM PST I've got a moto g4, on which I had twrp, lineageos, and opengapps installed (no root). I wanted to try lineageos for microg: https://lineage.microg.org/ I followed the installation guide for a dirty install:
Upon rebooting, I find that the microg settings app they mention in the next steps is not present, and everything else about my device seems to be the same as before, except that the play store does not work (but is still present). Anyone have any clue what went wrong or how to fix it other than by restoring the backup I made? [link] [comments]  |
| Phone vibrates and then unlocks all by itself Posted: 05 Jan 2018 05:33 PM PST So it seems like my phone has been possesed by a ghost. I have a UMI MAX and the problem is that, when I turn it off, it does short vibrations as if it is reciving a message for 4 or 5 times continously and then unlocks all by itself. Its really annoying not just the unlock part but the vibrations distract me when Im studying. I think it has something to do with the fingerprint scaner, I honestly don't know. [link] [comments]  |

| Google Maps/Nav Driving mode start icon Posted: 05 Jan 2018 07:10 PM PST On my previous phone, under Nougat, Google Maps & Navigation once popped up a prompt asking if I'd like to create a Driving Mode icon on the phone's, uh, desktop. I did, and it was useful. I've upgraded phones, and this icon no longer is present, and I guess Maps either doesn't offer that prompt anymore or thinks I've got it since I said Yes, once, last year. Does anyone know how I can get this icon back? I do have the "Start Driving" menu item available, but I'd like to just tap the icon to start it up. [link] [comments]  |

When viewing the app info, they all seem to be run by something called "AppStack" (https://imgur.com/a/RBteA). Is this app anything other than a bloatware installer, and is it fine to remove? List of devices attached "adb server version (32) doesn't match this client (39); killing... could not read ok from ADB server * failed to start daemon error: cannot connected to daemon If you guys know a solution, please let me know! | Upgrading Verizon BlackBerry Priv to Android 8? Posted: 05 Jan 2018 01:03 PM PST Hi, I made the seeming-to-be-a mistake of buying a BlackBerry Priv last March as my daily driver. I love the hardware on it, but it's still on Android Marshmallow and now I've just learned that BlackBerry has completely stopped releasing updates for it; even security updates. I'm learning Xamarin to write mobile apps, so having my only phone be two Android versions behind is not something I can deal with; trying to get Xamarin to build for Android 6 is a real struggle. And with the Spectre attack now coming into light, I don't know if I can expect a patch for it from BlackBerry for my phone. So now I'm wondering if I can upgrade my Priv to Android 8 using the vanilla ROM or something like Lineage OS. However last I checked, the Priv has a locked bootloader, and BlackBerry is not going to unlock it now that they've abandoned it for "security reasons" (BS!). Do I have any options here? Or should I be switching off of this phone ASAP? I'm on Verizon, if that's relevant. Thanks! [link] [comments]  |

Posted: 05 Jan 2018 06:48 AM PST the other day i bought a moto e4 plus. it was at the full retail price, and has a "brand new" price tag sticker on it. i bought it from a seemingly legit dealer. i had the phone unlocked to switch carriers, but they said they cant switch me because of a remaining due amount with the OG carrier from a previous person? i get ahold of them and they said they wont replace it without a 35 dollar restock fee, which i can understand, unless the guy sold me a fucking lemon. he says yesterday he'll set it up with the carrier i want, but may take time for the sim to register with the phone/carrier we were switching to. what can i do in this situation? | Avoiding planned obsolescence question Posted: 05 Jan 2018 09:03 PM PST Phone: Samsung Galaxy S5 I believe an update was pushed to my phone maybe a year or so ago that made it notably slower. Sometimes its barely useable to be honest. I refreshed the phone finally (complete factory reset) and it worked fucking amazingly...until the next morning and then it went back to being shit. I guess the update that fucked things up happened overnight. So my plan now is to jailbreak it and put on a 3rd party OS, but will that work if its an update pushed by my carrier? Or will they still be able to install their bullshit onto my phone even if i have a different OS? Are there any other ways to get around this? [link] [comments]  |

It doesn't work on my Tablet. I gave it access 2 my Location and it said that there was no valid locations. and it always shows Blank. No forecast, no Jokes, no Nothing. I Googled the Problem but nothing related came up. Nobody's having this Problem. My search was 'WTForecast not working'. Even tired throwing Quotes around "Not Working" and still nothing. Any Ideas? From what I understand, you cannot use a backup created with a newer Android version to set up a phone running an older version. I was using or my phone was using 448 variant according to ApkMirror https://i.imgur.com/vs005xc.png as Google Play Services. After I updated to Oreo I didn't do any factory reset so all the apps were there like nougat so i downloaded GPS 948 variant from ApkMirror & installed it manually. It's working fine for 2 days but today new version got released for GPS Beta - v11.9.73. So instead of automatically downloading the 948 variant my device downloaded 448 https://i.imgur.com/i0ZQTMj.png variant in the background & Installed. I don't know why it's happening shouldn't it be downloading the 948 which meant for Oreo ? [link] [comments]  |
