    Child phone dialer? Android Apps

    Child phone dialer?

    Posted: 02 Dec 2017 10:42 AM PST

Is there an app that I could use with a phone for my 7 year old that would only allow her to call certain people? I want her to be able to have a phone for emergencies, but not be able to call random numbers or whatever.

[noob questions] When I try to download apps you guys talk about, I can't find them

    Posted: 02 Dec 2017 10:35 AM PST

I got my first smartphone ever yesterday and have some very beginner questions.

I'm looking for an adblocker to block ads in-app. I searched and found some that seemed like they'd be right on the money, but I either can't find them in the Google Play store or if I do, it just says it blocks ads in-browser.

Android 6.0 so most of the apps I read about on here are supported. Any help would be much appreciated!

Alternative to Google Photos that groups pictures automatically?

    Posted: 02 Dec 2017 07:58 AM PST

Google photos is not working in my device. Pictures are missing and the automatic categorization is not working. Is there any other gallery app with similar functionality?

[DEV] Auto-Reply to WhatsApp™ messages (200.000 downloads in about 4 months - thanks to all of you!)

    Posted: 02 Dec 2017 10:05 AM PST

    Hey guys,

it all began about one and a half year ago, when I launched my first AutoResponder for WhatsApp™, which requires root to run. Since about 4 months now, everything changed - finally, a version without root is available on Google Play! I really have to say thanks to everyone who supported and still supports the app! By the end of the year new cool features will follow, so stay tuned! Any feedback is really appreciated. What do you think about the app? Any features you want to see in the app soon? Any suggestions to improve it? Tell me about your thoughts (which concern the app only of course ^ ^ ). You can also vote up, if you like the app :)

Which Apps Should I Put On SD Card?

    Posted: 02 Dec 2017 04:51 AM PST

I want to move some apps to my SD Card. I have a Samsung so I can't use adoptable storage but I have rooted so I will use Link2SD and FolderMount. Obviously, the ones that I use the most won't but is there a rule of thumb for this sort of thing?

Looking for an app that picks randomly from a list of short paragraphs

    Posted: 02 Dec 2017 10:32 AM PST

Hi. I was wondering if any of you know an app like Random Picker or Randomizer that chooses one item from a list, but lets you input more than a few words for each one. I'm looking for the digital equivalent of a box of cards with about a paragraph written on each.

Non-root ad protection poll. (Blokada, Adguard or DNS66)

    Posted: 02 Dec 2017 10:23 AM PST

I've been using adguard for awhile because I found DNS66 pretty ineffective on my phone. I've recently installed blokada and testing to see if gsam likes it more then adguard. I noticed the file size is quite a bit smaller but so far it works just as well. Atleast I haven't spotted any ads. What service do you use?

App to send multiple sms simultaneously

    Posted: 02 Dec 2017 11:47 AM PST

I want to message multiple people at once, but I want them to each get an individual text. I don't want to include them all in the same group text.

A quick search shows a lot of marketing apps that mess around with spreadsheets. I don't want this either. I just want to tap 5-10 people from my contacts list and tell them something like, "Hey, my cousin hooked me up with a box of avocados. You want a bag?"

Suggestions please? Thank you in advance.

Is anyone having problem with push notification of Messenger Lite?

    Posted: 02 Dec 2017 04:31 AM PST

Most of the time the app doesn't send a notification when there is a new message. I must open the app to receive the message. I notice that the app sends a notification only if I just open it a few minutes ago. I have no problem with other apps. Any suggestions on how I can troubleshoot this problem? Thanks.

Alternative Youtube app for Android TV box

    Posted: 02 Dec 2017 06:10 AM PST

I have a Android box that, for some reasons, can only play 720p @30fps. It cannot play 480p, or 720p@60fps. So I've been trying to find an app that meets 2 requirements: can set video quality to 720p@30fps and can play livestream. What I've tried so far:

Youtube for Android TV: No video quality selection.
Youtube mobile app: 720p is usually 60fps with no 30fps option.
    Newpipe: No livestream
    iYTBP: Same as Youtube mobile.

Is there any other Youtube apps that I can try?

Possible to block instagram ads on a non-rooted device?

    Posted: 01 Dec 2017 09:57 PM PST

    Can't launch an app

    Posted: 02 Dec 2017 08:19 AM PST

I downloaded .apk file of the app, tried to run it on multiple emulators, and I always get this message: to start using the app, we must first download about 35mb of content. Click "Start download" to begin." I click it, and then I get an error which says "internet connection is required to perform this action. Please make sure you are connected and try again. ". What does this mean? My connection is fine, firewall and antivirus is not blocking anything, so I don't know what's going on. Plis help.

[DEV] IceBreaker conversation starter - Want feedback from pros

    Posted: 02 Dec 2017 08:07 AM PST

Hi reddit, I recently made my first App and wanted some constructive criticism to upgrade it and share it with you guys here since lots of you helped me in the process! I already made some changes with the feedback I had, but for now i had very little feedback so it's hard to upgrade it! If you have anything to say about it please tell me!

So what is the app? IceBreaker conversation starter!

Like the name says, it's a conversation starter. In brief, there are multiple modes (some will ask you to enter the names of you and your friends like "What do they think?" (which is the best mode in my opinion)) and it will generate random questions to targeted people, debates, dilemmas, etc depending on the game mode chosen. Pretty funny with some friends!

You can download and see the app by yourself here if you want to:

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lf.gt.knowy2

    Oh and it's completely free!

I will be glad to hear some feedback of you guys!

What are some good mindset / coaching apps?

    Posted: 01 Dec 2017 07:03 PM PST

I'm looking for apps for the following:

    1. Questions for digging into unconscious mind
    2. Conversation topics - being flexible and learning to be more expressive in conversations
    3. NLP / coaching apps similar to where you sit in different 'seats' to act from different 'parts' of yourself
    4. Apps that ask you questions or exercises to show who you are at a deep level, with actions or choices to help change
    5. Apps where people post up things that they have done and what they relate to e.g. Let's say someone has a goal of running 5km, seeing what others have done and recommended.

    Thanks heaps!

Install the discontinued Google Gesture search from your Play Store Library

    Posted: 02 Dec 2017 05:32 AM PST

Google gesture search is no longer avalible through play and was discontinued during 2017. To bad since you wont be able to install it on your new phone.

    Found a way though!

Open google Play Store app. Click My apps & games from the hamburger menu. Click the tab LIBRARY.

The LIBRARY is a list of apps you once installed. I scrolled thorugh the long list of apps and found gesture search in the list and was able to install it from there.

This only works if you had the app installed before of course.
