[DEV] Underburn - Dynamic Content Aware Brightness (Giving away promo codes) Posted: 27 Nov 2017 04:21 AM PST App, on Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.out386.underburn Underburn is a completely new kind of auto brightness app, made specifically for the users of dark themes. Ever had someone send you a white image at night, or had to open a browser, while using a dark theme? No need to fumble for that brightness control any more, Underburn will reduce the brightness for you! Unlike other brightness apps, Underburn dynamically sets your screen brightness based on what's showing on your screen, not the ambient light level. This relieves stress when opening light images/apps when using a dark theme at night, without making the brightness so low that the dark theme is invisible. Once you're back on a dark screen, the brightness will go back up. Rooted device NOT required. Lollipop or above is needed. I'm giving away 81 promo codes for the app. Such a weird number because I generated them a while back, and they're going to expire soon. If you want to try, leave a comment, and I'll PM it. Please do give me your (positive/negative) feedback. [link] [comments] |
[DEV] AirMessage - iMessage on Android! Posted: 26 Nov 2017 02:01 PM PST AirMessage - iMessage on Android Hello Internet! I'm looking for testers for my new application - AirMessage! AirMessage allows Mac users to participate in iMessage conversations on Android devices. AirMessage is available in beta on the Play Store via an invite (more information below).
What is AirMessage, and how does it work? AirMessage is a service which allows people to use iMessage on their Android phone. It contains a server component, and a client component. The server is to be installed on a Mac computer to route messages to and from the client app. You need a Mac computer and an Android smartphone.
What can it do? AirMessage contains most of the features you get on iMessage. This includes sending and receiving messages, attachments and even receiving Apple's "bubble / screen effects" and tapback responses - though these iMessage-specific features can only be viewed.
Is it secure? Your messages are yours, and not accessible to the developers. Remember - the server runs on your computer and the data remains on your systems. All communication between the client and the server is encrypted, and the server is password-protected.
Does it work? Can I help test it? It sure does work! I've been able to send and receive messages and attachments without an issue. However, it isn't ready for public use yet. AirMessage hasn't been fully tested, so there are bound to be bugs. To solve this, I'll be starting a testing group which willing early adopters can join.
How does the testing group work? The test is a closed beta release. Accepted users will be placed into a G+ community, where they will have access to the app, and be able to talk with myself and other testers about the service. If you want to be part of the beta, there are a few things you'll need to have first:
Once you've got all that, send an email to hello@airmessage.org with the subject "AirMessage Beta Testing" stating your name, your Google+ username or E-Mail, and any background information you'd like to share.
Will it cost anything? Once AirMessage is released, it will be available for free to anyone who wishes to download it. The project is non-commercial, so the app will remain free for as long as it exists. [link] [comments] |
I made an app to help protect against someone taking your phone when you aren't looking. Posted: 27 Nov 2017 08:51 AM PST There is an app called Yelling phone on the google play store, and every time your phone moves it starts yelling. There is a setting to switch it to the fake ringtone sound so now when my phone moves it sounds like i'm getting a phone call. I use it for when I go to the gym and play basketball and sit my phone down off to the side of the court. I was always paranoid that someone would steal my phone, but now I can relax a little because i would notice if my phone gets moved. Its also kinda hilarious to have it on the yelling setting in my apartment and scare the crap out of anyone who tries to look at my phone, lol. [link] [comments] |
[REQUEST] Looking for app that wraps a specific 3rd party YouTube channel into a standalone app Posted: 27 Nov 2017 09:12 AM PST I'm looking for an app where i could make a "dedicated" YouTube channel app for a specified channel. Basically I'd like to load onto a tablet access to a single YouTube channel. (Even better would be the ability to limit to a list of specific channels, a whitelist of sorts). This isn't a channel of my own, it would be some 3rd party. I've come across online some things that appear to wrap specific channel URLs to make a "channel app", but those seem to be targeted toward the channel creators themselves, plus I'm not really sure what quality they might be or how the actual resulting app gets installed or managed. I'm thinking I'd really like some sort of standalone something that offers this feature either already available, or something that I can customize and sideload on my own. I've searched github a bit thinking maybe someone else has made a sort of wrapper app like this but didn't come up with much. Heck, if there was some tutorial or something out there on making a YouTube wrapper app I'd maybe even try a go of it myself. Hoping someone in the community might have some ideas, thanks! Family countertop/wall calendar build - app recommendations please Posted: 27 Nov 2017 09:11 AM PST I'm setting up a family dashboard. Need a way to display attractive calendar, weather, pics on 'always on display'. This would be a kiosk type setup. Ive got a Lenovo 10" tab with a built in kickstand with Android 5.1. I was looking at The Dakboard app, but you can't launch the calendar by touching it. It looks like widgets and a launcher are the way to go. Any recommendations? I'd like a 2-week google calendar display. "Always on". Need to prevent lock screen or make the widgets work on the lock screen. Any tips? Is there a camera operated motion detection app that will trigger the display? Digital picture frame for wallpaper/screensaver. anything the works well? Ideally pics hosted in network folder or Google photos. [link] [comments] |

[DEV] A mini game - How long you can open your eyes without blinking Posted: 27 Nov 2017 05:27 AM PST I tried to use Mobile Vision API, Facebook SDK and Twitter SDK to implement a little game. All users can check how long you can open your eyes without any blinking. No Blink Challenge - Keep your eyes open! https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.amingo.noblink BTW, I also tried to use Admob in this app, so if you do not like to see any ads in app, please just do not download and play it. Sorry for inconvenience. OK, just play it for fun. And any feedbacks and suggestions are very appreciated. Thanks a lot. [link] [comments] |
What's the most powerful Photo editor on Android? Posted: 27 Nov 2017 02:39 AM PST I need an editor where you can work on different layers, save presets, have a good text editor and that can work with multiple images. Is there any in the market? Thanks in advance! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 27 Nov 2017 10:54 AM PST I'm a terrible cook, I have a bunch of bananas sitting in my kitchen slowly turning black, of course I could just eat them but the thought of eating so many just doesn't appeal. I just wish I knew how to whip up something delicious with whatever miscellaneous ingredients I have gathering dust in my cupboards. Inspiration just doesn't hit me so that's why I'm looking for any suggestions. Is there a decent app out there (with a large varied database, visually appealing and easy to follow) that will let me list my various ingredients, let me input any dietary requirements, and spit out some suggestions? If it has tablet support (as in it doesn't force portrait mode), it would be a bonus! [link] [comments] |
Camera app that can have viewfinder moved to picture in picture window on android 8.0? Posted: 27 Nov 2017 10:54 AM PST Camera app that can have viewfinder moved to picture in picture window on android 8.0? Is this something someone else has already created? It would be a cool feature if you want to have camera ready to take a picture while doing something else simultaneously. [link] [comments] |
Slow syncing, delayed notification of Microsoft account on Gmail android app? Posted: 27 Nov 2017 10:50 AM PST Whenever I use the gmail app to sync my Outlook mail the notifications for mails aren't instant, they are delayed. Any ways to fix that? There's only a 15min lowest syncing interval that can be set via settings. No problems in using Outlook for Android, with that app I always get instant email notifications. Why it's so slow in Gmail app? [link] [comments] |
Is there an alarm clock that allows for a random song every time it rings? Posted: 27 Nov 2017 10:44 AM PST Title says it all. I'm getting so tired of morning mood. Thanks! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 27 Nov 2017 10:23 AM PST I tried manually moving them over through my laptop but on the new phone they wouldn't recognize the save files. I see them there but it gives me a "could not load" message. What can I do? [link] [comments] |
Looking for good card/board games? Posted: 27 Nov 2017 12:52 AM PST I like Munchkins, D&D, Zombie Dice, Catan and stuff like that. Looking for good free apps to play that are similar. Do not care for Hearthstone or any games similar to it. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 27 Nov 2017 07:56 AM PST I've looked through the files on my laptop and can't seem to find anything or any way to transfer it from phone to phone. [link] [comments] |

Navigation app which has option to avoid bad or dangerous roads? Posted: 27 Nov 2017 06:17 AM PST Is there a navigation app which has a feature to avoid dangerous roads? A lot of the times, the suggested route in Google Maps (which would be the fastest), contains roads that I don't feel safe going through, such as dark/unlit roads, dirt roads, roads through high crime areas. For example, some time ago I decided to walk home instead of taking the bus from work. The suggested route took me through some pretty nasty dirt roads (rainy weather), and a lot of them were unlit. I had no choice than to go forward, as going back would have been a pretty long detour. I've heard many stories of people trusting their navigation app, which took them through some really nasty roads. [link] [comments] |

Podcast player with sync between devices Posted: 27 Nov 2017 05:22 AM PST I'm looking for a podcast player that syncs between my work and personal phone. Right now I'm using Google play music and it seems to sync only sometimes, after a long period of non use. Also Android auto compatibility is a must. Any ideas? Premium apps would also be ok. Thanks. Posted: 27 Nov 2017 05:02 AM PST Hi I'm looking for an app that is essentially a map on which you can put up specific places you're interested to visit. And at some point you can tick them off and add like a note or a photo or something like that. The majority of apps just give you the option to put in a trip or mark like countries/cities you have visited. I'm looking more among the lines of a bucket list app. For example, I've put in today I want to visit Time square and a year from now I visit it and I can check it off. Thanks [link] [comments] |
