App for "per app quiet hours"? Posted: 30 Nov 2017 06:25 AM PST I've searched and searched but can't find an app that will do this. I've got my work e-mail set up in Outlook and I only want notifications from it to come through during work hours, so I want to be able to not get notifications from it outside of those times. But obviously I still want notifications to come through from all my other apps. So what I need is something that lets me set "quiet hours" per app. I'm certain there must be an app out there that will do this for me but I just can't find it. Using a Samsung Galaxy S8, which has per app notification control but it's not time based. Anyone know of anything? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 30 Nov 2017 06:58 AM PST Hi guys. I'm looking for a gallery app that automatically uploads the photos I take to the cloud but whenever I want to the delete from my phone they will still keep saved on the cloud. Is there an app for that or what's the best way I could do that. [link] [comments] |
[DEV] Locknote - secure, encrypted note taking on the go Posted: 30 Nov 2017 08:18 AM PST Hey guys! I posted about this app a few months back when I was first starting development on it. Now development of the beta version is almost complete so I thought I would post again to drum up interest and feedback before the beta release. What is Locknote? Locknote is a mobile app for taking notes and storing documents all in one place on your device. All stored data is encrypted behind 2 layers of security. Locknote features a full rich text editor so you can format text as well. How does it work? Locknote uses asymmetric keypair encryption with a password-protected private key. Simply follow an easy setup process to set up your keys - once the app is set up, just enter your password to unlock your notebooks, take some notes, then lock or close the app to secure your notes. Locknote is FOSS and will be licensed under the GPL v3. I firmly believe that secure software cannot be fully trusted unless the source is readily available for others to inspect, so I am making this project open source. For more info and to get the beta version when it is released, visit the website at https://locknoteapp.xyz [link] [comments] |

Samsung Internet Browser is freaking fast! Posted: 30 Nov 2017 08:50 AM PST Didn't expect a 3rd party provider(Samsung in comparison to chrome & firefox) to provide an above average, fast and feature rich browser. But since everyone here was talking about it, I gave it a try and it hasn't disappoint. Really fast compared to chrome, classy design and useful extensions(there're more apart from the adblockers). Only wish I didn't have to tap twice everytime to change a tab. [link] [comments] |

Multiple Genre Tagging- Samsung Music Player Posted: 30 Nov 2017 10:02 AM PST I have this collection of about 6000 songs, all precisely tagged. However, my android phone, Samsung Music player does not separate out the songs on multiple genres. For instance, a song that has genres, Pop;Rock;Dance The player would list the genre as Pop;Rock;Dance and not three separate genres. I tried inserting other delimiter, "//" or "/" or "\" but none of them worked. Is there any other way to do that ? [link] [comments] |

Best apps to gamify my excersise/walking? Posted: 30 Nov 2017 11:26 AM PST I'm looking for some good apps that will help motivate me with my exercise and steps and turn them into games either with a community aspect or just on my own. Maybe not something that is ultra competitive but I'd love any ideas. A lot of the things I'm finding seem very outdated 🙁 I played a few different games before where you input your steps or distance walked and it would have a virtual route you walked along. And another where the steps synced from your fitbit 'fed' your pet and levelled them up. It definitely helps me feel more motivated and I'd like to try it again. I'm doing yoga and some body weight exercise at the moment as well as trying to walk regularly and keep my average step count good Thanks! (cross posted from r/fitness I wasn't sure if there was an official way to do it?) [link] [comments] |
Mirror screen, use PC keybrd, mouse, Pixel 2? Posted: 30 Nov 2017 11:09 AM PST I am testing apps like AirDroid on my Galaxy S5 right now connecting via usb. It is quite laggy. Is there another way to mirror the phone screen to PC, and then control it with mouse and keyboard that is fast? Does Chromecast let you do that? Thanks. [link] [comments] |

Help with turning off phone when alarm from Sleep as Android is playing. Posted: 29 Nov 2017 08:52 PM PST So I have trouble waking up in the mornings, and Sleep as Android has done wonders for me. However, lately I find myself turning off my phone rather than getting up and scanning an NFC tag as required by the alarm. Is there a way to disable turning off your phone while the alarm is active? Samsung Music on another phone (HTC 10) Posted: 30 Nov 2017 02:11 AM PST Exactly what the title says. Posted: 30 Nov 2017 04:22 AM PST I run a small company but I have a relatively large number of staff. I'm looking for a scheduling app that allows me to plan my staff rota(s), something that I can plan well in advance and they have access to on their phones. I tried to use "Sling" for a while, I loved the idea that I could plan rotas on my PC and my staff could see their hours and request time off all on the app etc, but found it didn't work right (maybe I was using it wrong?). Some other suggestions also included somethings like "my work calendar" and "my work schedule"? All help greatly appreciated! [link] [comments] |
Am I forever chained to Google Play Music? Posted: 29 Nov 2017 01:46 PM PST ...cause it REALLY sucks as a music player. Like, I want to swear and break expensive things I'm so irritated. I have a Galaxy S8, and I'm just discovering that music from play music can only be listened to in the play music app? It didn't use to be this way. I'm somewhat of an audiophile, and have, in the past, experienced better sound quality in different apps with music purchased in the play music app. A large portion of what I listen to is classical music, and the Google app is particularly atrocious at organizing my library, even after I go through and try to clean it up with specific playlists and simplified metadata, it's still a horrible hot mess. The volume is NEVER as loud as I want it for classical music, even with a DAC and good headphones (audiotechnica). When I listen to Top 40 stuff (cheesy, yes, I know, but it's great for cleaning house) the volume gets plenty loud, but the organization of my music is still awful. I hate it SO F'ING much! And now, since I upgraded from the S5 to the S8 (big skip, I know) I'm stuck with either listening to music that sounds like plain mashed potatoes, or buying everything all over again for a different app? Somebody with more know how, please say it isn't so! I'm not very technologically savvy, but I haven't found any other options in an hour or so of googling. [link] [comments] |
