Now my question is whether she should get a: Lenovo V15- with a Ryzen 5300U and 4GB RAM or ASUS 14 (I guess it's a Vivobook)- with a i3 1115G4 and 8GB RAM These are the only differences and I am not sure which one to go for, though I am leaning towards the ASUS cause of the 8GB of RAM, even though the Lenovo is packing a 5300U. I replaced it with a Lenovo E480 because one of my few requirements was a trackpoint. What bothers me is that the keyboard on this laptop is considerably worse than on my old W520. I was looking around for laptops that look like they have decent keyboards with good travel in the keys, but I didn't see any. At least not in laptops that have a trackpoint. I'm just wondering, do any new laptops still have high quality keyboards? I know this is subjective, but I can't be the only one that prefers a more substantial keyboard. [link] [comments] | ||

| Best lightweight external GPU for Iris Xe laptop? Posted: 31 May 2022 08:10 AM PDT Hello, I have a Lenovo IdeaPad Slim with Iris Xe and an i5-1135G7. I can play Minecraft fine at 12-16 chunks w/ Sodium (under non-intensive circumstances) without shaders but when I use shaders such as Complementary Shaders at fullscreen, I can get at most 50 FPS which while playable isn't super smooth. (though I CAN play better when in windowed mode) That's why I'd like to get a good lightweight external GPU that can run these shaders as well as in windowed mode, though I don't wanna buy a new laptop just yet for the same purpose. Its an administrator password so I can't do anything at all unless I have a password to put in. It gives me 3 attempts and then it shuts off the laptop. | Posted: 31 May 2022 06:31 AM PDT So I had somone mess my laptop up because they claimed they knew how to fix the issues with audio i was noticing. What I saw was the person get frustrated and get to the point were they needed to do the reset on windows 10 where it doesn't save your files and you start from a clean slate. Unfortunately they turned it off midway and now my computer is in a boot loop. Tried diagnostics both tests, states nothing is wrong. I tried to fix it watching vids but the vids I watch don't help because most want me to find something called boot sequence and I literally can't find it anywhere in my bios. Does anybody have a suggestion. My screen gets to the dell load screen and no further to my knowledge, and I'm honestly just gonna wait with it open for a whole day if I have to. | Laptop is not starting properly Posted: 31 May 2022 06:11 AM PDT It's a MSI GF63 8RC. It was never the best thing but this year its performance issues got worse especially in these last few months. Loading a game would take forever and I don't know since when but I couldn't open up videos in the device. I tried a lot of things to fix it but eventually gave up, backed up all my important files and then reset the whole thing. Except now after the login screen all I see is a white screen with the taskbar slowly flickering. I can't even click on the search option. A pop up window saying "Unknown Hard Error" comes up.
