| Posted: 04 May 2022 02:52 PM PDT Heard good things about Android 12. And got a suggestion that surprised me. They said I could actually install Android 12 on my old tablet (Android 6) to give it a fresh lease of life. That would be wonderful and I set about researching info on flashing a generic tablet. I am an amateur PC tech - but all the details I unearthed in my quest had me shed more hair on my balding head. I am looking for some kind soul who can point me in the right direction. The original person whose suggestion started my quest is not accessible so i am confused how to proceed. Ideally I am looking for a solution that lets me use my Windows 10 laptop and a USB cable. Or load the new US on a Micro SD and install it from there. I did learn that I need to use a generic source since no stock image exists for my tablet - Yelyouth KT-107 10.5" model. So, to explain the situation, I have a manager who I can only trust as far as I can throw him. I've submitted a time off request almost a month ago that's set to come up at the end of this month. I've asked him twice to approve the time off request and he verbally assured me (meaning I have no proof) that I would get the time off I requested. I have my doubts, however. My work uses the UKG Workforce app for scheduling and time off requests. Everything goes through the app. My plan was to pull up the time off request on the UKG app while recording video, or at the very least audio, as it's unusual for me to approach someone holding my phone without a good reason, and have him brush me off again, except with proof this time. | Can't get group messages over wifi, is there any solutions? Posted: 04 May 2022 04:45 PM PDT Hello! I am a veterinary student and our vet school has no service. When connected to the wifi, I can send and receive individual text messages just fine over wifi. However, I am in a group chat with several students who have iPhones and I do not get any of their text messages while in the building. Instead, I get a message that is blank and will show a photo icon and have a circle spinning that says "downloading..." separately by the individual, not in the group chat. If "bob" sends a message in the group chat, I will get a separate individual message from bob saying "message ready for download" or "downloading" but I won't see what it says. This is less than ideal because if an animal comes into the hospital, I won't be able to coordinate with others and determine who is available to go in. I can still use our pager app, but it is only for communications with the front desk, so I can see when things come in, but I cannot coordinate pick up in the group chat. Is there any way for me to get these text messages while in the building? Can I use an app that will allow me to text with a separate number over wifi, or will everyone else also have to download said app? There have been problems with GroupMe in the past, so we just use a normal text message group chat. Is there a setting I can control on my end, or will everyone else with an iphone need to change a certain setting? Will getting a new phone fix this problem (I have an LGg7thinq that is 3+ years old) I have been in group chats before and have never run into this issue. [link] [comments] |

| samsung galaxy s7 edge wont turn on Posted: 04 May 2022 04:10 PM PDT so my phone just stopped working yesterday. it shut off and i tried turning it on but to no avail. i tried rebooting it on safe mode and normally as well but it would boot up and the screen would go black. i even tried a factory reset but it went in a loop until it shut off. now the light glows bule/green and is unresponsive to any input even trying to reboot. any advice on how i can try to fix it? im on verizon too if that helps. I recorded a 5gb video, approximately 50 minutes, with a recorder app. Any video player app or editor I have found, including VLC, only plays 30 minutes of the video. | How Do I Stop The Clock App From Switching Tabs? Posted: 04 May 2022 03:55 PM PDT Whenever I use the stopwatch function in the default clock app, I've noticed that if you minimize the app and then open it again......it will automatically transition to the clock tab (instead of just staying on the stopwatch tab). My partner is attempting to use her Galaxy S10e, which I believe to be running android 12, to utilize the Lovense Remote app to facilitate some long-distance play. We're constantly running into an issue where if the Lovense Remote app is not the active window, our connection will disconnect. I've confirmed the app works flawlessly while it's the active window, I'm seeking a way to allow her to utilize other apps while maintaining the connection. So far we've made sure it's unrestricted in battery settings and closed every other app to make sure that it shouldn't be closing due to memory/cpu constraints, and we've enabled application pinning (though it appears that pinning an app prevents it from being in the background in the first place, so defeats the purpose) If anyone has another suggestion for how we might prevent this app from disconnecting while it's in the background, I'd be extremely grateful. As I'm still learning the Android interface, I've tried googling to find a functionality which enables me to search for apps. For e.g swipe down on your Home Screen and search for Messenger. | How to reset ringtones to default? Posted: 04 May 2022 03:53 AM PDT I had manually selected some contacts in Android 11 (Google Phone) to have ringtone 'None' so that they'd only vibrate. The default for the phone was a normal ringtone. Now it could be a bug but a lot of other contacts I checked that had the default ringtone chosen are showing to have 'None' as their ringtone too in their individual contacts. Can someone please tell what system app can I search for & clear its storage data so that the all these manual & buggy preferences go back to default & every contacts goes back to the default ringtone? | volume always stuck at 71% K92 Tablet Posted: 04 May 2022 12:15 PM PDT I have a k92 Primetime AT&t tablet and the volume will always stay at 71% even though that I turn it up to 100% it goes right back down to 71% within 5 to 10 seconds. | Is it possible to log in Google account on VirtualXposed? Posted: 04 May 2022 11:54 AM PDT Hello to all, I have an app that I have been trying to log into inside VirtualXposed, and it just doesn't work. The first time I tried to log in via my Google account, a message popped up saying login failed, even though I was never given the opportunity to log in. I noticed that FaceBook log-in works but all my progress is saved to my Google account. I installed MircoG, and afterward when I try to log in the app just closes out. I had the february patch, today i received the may one. My question is, do i also get the fixes from march and april? | Can you please help me to install a temporary phone number on Android? Posted: 04 May 2022 07:11 AM PDT Hi there! I recently bought a Samsung phone. I bought it to replace my old iPhone. Basically, the entire time I had only iPhones and just recently purchased a Samsung phone based on Android OS. I don't say that it's bad or something. I'm just not used to this operating system. It's different compared to what I used to have. So, I struggle a bit with installing some apps and adjusting settings. Sadly, I had no other option left except to buy a pre-owned phone. I bought it for cash as a temporary solution. So, an old Samsung phone was the only smartphone I could afford at that moment. Maybe I will switch back to iPhone, but who knows what will happen in the future. Now, I need some help to install a temporary phone number on this phone. Now, I have Samsung S10. I dunno anything else about this phone, like a year's make or any further info. I bought it without a box and guides. Luckily, it also had a charger. Basically, a lot of drama is related to this phone story. My ex smashed my old iPhone, where I had a lot of pictures and some helpful notes. I was dumb enough not to save everything on iCloud. But, it's not the only issue I faced. That bastard also smashed my laptop and many other belongings. I quickly escaped from that damn apartment we rented together before he could break my face. He is going insane from time to time. But, sometimes, he calms down and is ready for an adult conversation. I reported him to the police this time and ran away from that apartment. Luckily, I had my credit card with me and could withdraw some cash to rent a motel room, buy a cheap phone, and get a sim card. Still, I almost have no clothes to wear or anything else. Of course, we will break up, but I need to return at least some of my stuff. I can't afford to buy everything new. When I returned to the apartment, it seemed like my ex or the landlord (they are good friends) had changed the locks. I couldn't get in. So, I want to call the landlord from the fake number because he doesn't pick up when I call him from my real one. I just dunno how to install a fake number. | Ongoing missing notifications for the last several months (Android 11) Posted: 04 May 2022 10:53 AM PDT I consider myself pretty proficient with Android and I've been struggling with this issue for several months. It started soon after getting my current phone, a REVVL 5G from T-Mobile. The problem is that I simply don't get notifications from most sources, unless that specific app has been opened in the last several hours recently. For example, let's say I have a sports app that tells me when a game is about to start. It will not notify me normally. If I manually open the app, notifications will then work for several hours later, before stopping again. This has been observed in pretty much all apps+ and isn't specific to the app I'm using.
I've been looking for solutions for months and have tried:

My girlfriend gave me her spare iphone while I wait for my new android to arrive. Is there any way I can get my contacts and other files out of my note9? The iphone allows me to receive texts and make calls but none of my contacts came with my SIM. Will the contacts appear once I put the SIM in a new android? All the tutorials I've watched require you to use your old phone to transfer the data but I can't access my old phone. | Contacts Frequently Delete or Merge At Random. How can I Fix it? Posted: 04 May 2022 07:40 AM PDT I'm using a Samsung Galaxy s10 5G locked to Verizon running Android 12 with One UI version 4.1. A few months ago I had an issue with my phone's touch screen while traveling. I temporarily used a cheap phone I bought while abroad until I could get home to get my phone fixed through insurance, and was able to download most of my contacts from Verizon cloud onto that temp phone, but a few were missing. When I got my phone working again I turned on Google cloud backup too to have an extra copy of my contacts somewhere else in case anything happened to my phone again. I think this may have been a terrible mistake. Over the past few months my contacts have frequently deleted themselves, presumably due to some kind of sync happening. Every few days I would check the trash folder in my phone contacts (I use the default "contacts" app) and there would be tons of entries in there, many of them duplicates of each other. Because I don't have time to weed through them, I would just restore the all, but the duplicates kept growing and it got to the point where I would have to spend 10+ minutes restoring 70,000+ contacts (of which only about 2000 are unique) every few days. I thought the google sync was the issue, so I decided to turn it off, and for a while things worked as normal again. Then last week something worse happened: a bunch of my contacts linked with each other, seemingly at random. Phone numbers of people I haven't spoken to in years would get grouped with those of people I text every day, some people suddenly had dozens of email addresses added to them, etc. A bunch of my text conversations were labeled incorrectly because the person I had been texting with was merged with another contact, so I'd think I'd be texting a friend and it would instead go to someone I worked with 10 years ago or something like that. I manually went through and unlinked everything from every person I had active conversations with in the text message app (again the default android one), but I have no idea if there is more damage with contacts I haven't texted with. I could easily try to call my dentist tomorrow and get an ex girlfriend instead. Then today, I got both issues at once: half my contacts were delted and had to be restored, and another bunch were merged at random again. The Google sync is still off so that can't be the issue. Verizon cloud still backs up my account but not this often, and that was never an issue previously. Any ideas what is wrong, how to stop it from happening again, and/or how to get my contacts that are still merged at random fixed? Thanks! [link] [comments] |
