How do you fix pink screen on HP laptop Posted: 02 Apr 2022 01:15 AM PDT I've tried almost everything on the internet like updating the drive, restarting, checking the night mode, uninstalling apps, etc. For more details, it's not pink screen all the time, I think every 3 seconds it would light up to pink, and when I move the cursor, the screen kinda glitches and there's duplication on the screen like when I scroll down then there's a picture, it would be duplicated or shadowed. What else could you suggest?? [link] [comments]

Is it safe to wipe a laptop with ethanol? Posted: 02 Apr 2022 02:15 AM PDT So my laptop has gotten kinda dusty and I want to clean it. I've heard that others use IPA for this, so I'm wondering if it's safe to use ethanol instead. [link] [comments]
Looking for recommendations for the elusive thin, light and powerful Posted: 02 Apr 2022 01:27 AM PDT Hi, I am looking for a Ryzen 6000 series laptop that is powerful but has a small form factor (13/14 inches) and light weight (max 1.7/1.8 kgs). Primary use case is business (long excel spreadsheets), multitasking etc. But secondary use case would be media consumption so a good screen (QHD) would be good to have. The Asus Zephyrus G14 (2022) seems to fit the bill spec wise (AMD Ryzen 9 6900HS, 16GB RAM, 1TB NVMe SSD, AMD Radeon RX 6700S, 14" WQXGA 120Hz) and is not too heavy (1.7kgs) but it is quite expensive. Any other suggestions that fit the required use case and specs? [link] [comments]
Posted: 01 Apr 2022 10:17 PM PDT So my sister has this Asus Vivobook F510ua bought in 2018. She is a really light user, mainly for printing stuff, and maybe websurfing if necessary, at most light use of spreadsheets and watching netflix, but the laptop is really slow to initialize and in the first 5 minutes of use, so I was wondering about upgrading with a SSD Sata III of 500gb mainly for the OS, as it doesn't look like the NVMe SSD works with it. Also, I was wondering if it would be worth it to get another Ram for dual channel as it came with only this one RAM stick (DDR4 2400 sodimm 8gb by Hynix), so I was thinking about getting this crucial one (DDR4 2400 sodimm 8gb by Crucial) as it is a better brand, just don't know if they will work together for dual-channel. Do you guys believe this upgrade is worth it, or is it better to just scrape the laptop and get a new one? She prefers to use her phone unless really needed to, which is aided by how slow it is. Posted: 01 Apr 2022 06:16 PM PDT Hi Guys, I want to buy a new computer for my daily use. I come from Mac but now I need Windows. I've searched for a lot of computers and I loved the Dell XPS with it's 16:10 screen and I almost bought it but there's only the 4K touch versions and I've read that the battery life sucks. I also thought of one of the Zenbooks which have a much better battery life but i don't know the difference between the Ryzen and the Intel versions. Also there's the Intel iris graphics and some Nvidia versions. I like an efficient, fast computer with a nice screen and nice battery. I do some light gaming. Also I fear OLED screens because of the screen burn, but I don't know. I don't use touchscreens. What should I do? What do you guys recommend/what would you buy and why? Any opinion/review/experience will be very much appreciated. Thank you! These are my options: New XPS: (9310) i7 1185G7, Intel Iris Xe, 16gb RAM, 512gb ssd 13,4" OLED or LCD touch 4K (also 1900x1200 version in Amazon ) XPS: (9305) i7-1165G7, Intel Iris Xe, 16gb ram, 512gb ssd 13,3" FHD No touch Zenbook 14 (UM425) Ryzen 7 5800H, Radeon Vega 7, 16gb ram, 1tb ssd 14" FHD Zenbook S i7-1165G7, 16gb ram, 1tb ssd 13,9"touch 4K Zenbook 13 (UM325) Ryzen 7 5700U 13,3"OLED FHD Zenbook 14X(UX 5400) i7-1165G7, Nvidia MX450, 512gb ssd, 16gb ram 14"OLED touch 4K Zenbook 13 (UX325) i7-1165G7, Intel Iris Xe, 16gb ram, 512gb ssd 13.3" FHD [link] [comments]

Laptop with additional storage Posted: 01 Apr 2022 07:20 PM PDT I have an old, much loved ASUS quasi-gaming laptop that soon needs to be replaced. I have two Samsung 2.5" SSDs in it (one in the HDD spot and one in the DVD-slot). Are the any laptops built these days that can accommodate one of my extra 2.5" drives? I'd hate to have to throw them both out... [link] [comments]

Laptop installed 2.5" 7mm Samsung Internal SSD Connection Issue Posted: 01 Apr 2022 06:30 PM PDT I am having an issue relating to my SSD I installed into my laptop a while back. Until recently, the SSD was working fine until it started to begin disconnecting/disappearing from my File Explorer. When this would happen any app/program/file on the SSD would not open. When checking my Disk Management, it only shows my preset internal 128GB PCIe NVMe SSD storage while the Samsung SSD I installed is nowhere to be seen. I solved this issue temporarily by opening the laptop and manually disconnecting the Samsung SSD from the motherboard, and reconnecting it. However, this issue is happening very frequently and is concerning. Things like OS (windows 10) updates, storage, and RAM are stable and up to date so I'm not sure whats causing the issue. Please let me know if you have a possible solution or suggestion. Thanks! [link] [comments]
My laptop keeps displaying the wrong time and date. What is the issue? Posted: 01 Apr 2022 06:13 PM PDT As the title says, my laptop continues to display the wrong time and date even after I configure it to the correct numbers. My paranoia makes me think that my computer is hacked, or whatever, but maybe it's just a sign of a dying battery/hardware, maybe? Serious answers please. [link] [comments]
Posted: 01 Apr 2022 05:48 PM PDT I am trying to replace the hard drive in my Samsung Notebook 7 Spin 2-in-1 13.3". The model number is NP730QAA-K02US. The SKU is 6338246. Before disassembling I would like to make sure I know where the hard drive is. I haven't done something like this before and don't want to screw it up. Does anyone have or know where I can find a diagram or blueprint of the parts? I've found videos of different models on youtube but not the same as mine. [link] [comments]
Posted: 01 Apr 2022 05:18 PM PDT I have a predator triton 500 and the keyboard up and stopped working. It's been fine up until now. I plugged in my controller and I think that's when it stopped working. Or maybe I accidentally hit a keybind that locks the keyboard or something. No clue. Windows troubleshooter says there are no issues so I can't imagine it's disconnected inside, device manager says it's working fine, the keyboard's backlight lights up on startup and then stops, and the power button still functions. The touchpad also works. I've tried uninstalling and updating drivers, restarting the computer multiple times to no avail. Could someone please help? [link] [comments]

This hard drive can ruin the vga? Posted: 01 Apr 2022 02:19 PM PDT Hello, my girlfriends brother lent me an old laptop he doesnt use, with windows7, since i couldnt use many programs on it, i downloaded windows 10, and he said i shouldnt because the hard drive is not supporting windows10 (Hitachi HTS547575A9E384)and it can ruin the video card, presonally i havent found any problems disk runs on 1-4% with windows10 basic use, so my question is can it really ruin video card or its not supported? Edit: or can it even ruin anything because its old? [link] [comments]
Posted: 01 Apr 2022 01:52 PM PDT These are the details of what I want from it ‐------------------------------------------------------------------ Total budget (in local currency) and country of purchase. Please do not use USD unless purchasing in the US: 1000-2000 USD Are you open to refurbs/used? Refurbished yes not used How would you prioritize form factor (ultrabook, 2-in-1, etc.), build quality, performance, and battery life? Dont care for 2 in ones or touch screen, Metal Build preferably because build quality is very important to me, so is performance, then after that its battery life How important is weight and thinness to you? Not too important, just don't want like a super thick gaming laptop type deal Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A. I have a 15 inch now and its pretty snug in the bag I use, so 16" and below Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run. I'm doing 3D animation in blender and video editing in premiere and Would like to comfortably play open world games like BOTW, Red Dead or Minecraft If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want? I play those listed above mainly, I'm coming from a not great computer so as long as I can play at medium high settings at 120 fps ill be fine, if it can't though its not a deal breaker, I dont want a gaming laptop more a slick reliable all rounder Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)? Nothing that I haven't already said Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion. Ive been looking at the XPS laptops from Dell which I'm really into, is this a good choice and if so which one? If not i'm open to any other good suggestions [link] [comments]
